If let's say I cannot receive U Mobile network, show "Emergency call only". Can I turn on my streamyx wifi and still can receive Viber or Line Free incoming call and message? icon_question.gif
*
yes. Viber and Line calls/messages goes through Internet data connection. Therefore any wifi network will do fine too.

But when you subscribe the U18 or U28 mobile internet plan, it is TOTALLY Different. I though the network UMobile3G, the speed like 3G High speed internet. Oppositely, the speed more lousy than Streamyx, and even DiGi..  shakehead.gif

If roam with maxis2g line, it suppose EDGE internet speed, right? (Correct me if I'm mistake~  smile.gif  ) But the internet speed slow until go google site also keep loading....  doh.gif  (EPIC Fail)

Another I still want to arrest high high problem... NO International Roaming, EXCEPT Singapore (For U Mobile prepaid user).. You only receive "Emergency Call ONLY"... shakehead.gif

eh UMI28 not full speed? i have been getting full 3G speed since the UMI28 was launched last year. if on edge, memang slow, use opera mini if you are on edge tongue.gif

BTW, i have been in Penang for several days and the coverage and speed is very good! i think it is using a lot of Maxis 3G here. i got H+ in Feringhi, gurney area, georgetown, bukit mertajam, kepala batas, and even on the top of penang hill. was quite surprised at the last one. not sure whether they were on Maxis or umobile 3g, but satisfied so far!

i got 5.++ mbps even on the 22nd floor with my phone. hehe just a short report while i am still in Penang. makan damn syiok wo thumbup.gif

Reporting from Kelantan, only in Kota Bharu you can have H+. Other area have no access to 3G. Sometimes you can get Edge but that's it. Probably not good to use uMobile in Kelantan. But it's no big deal for me, rarely use UMI back in here.

nymerine,

if you check UMObile coverage area, Kelantan definitely having poor coverage...

for mobile coverage, in fact based on the info from U Mobile's website, mobile internet totally no coverage. So consider good already you get coverage in Kota Bharu...

hi i dunno this is the right thread to ask but I plan to switch to umobile prepaid/postpaid but I am currently using Digi prepaid with rm2xx remaining balance. Can I retain the phone number 012(jump from maxis) and will Digi refund the remaining balance in my prepaid?

As I said, I don't mind. Probably there's some interested newbies wanted to subscribe live in those area wanted to know "real" information from another user.

Anyway, I turned on data plan last night from Kelantan -> Terengganu.
Terengganu only KT have 3G/H, all other place GPRS.
Pahang in most small town have H+.
Segamat & Muar have H+.

Not bad, How was the speed ?

Did you do some speedtest ?

I believe those highlighted places are roaming on Maxis3G

thumbup.gif

btw, UM simcards when cut into a Nano Sim size works perfectly on iPhone5.

One user just activated his MNP number into Umobile on the Nano Sim which i punched out using a Nano Sim Puncher.

It work flawlessly , you guys can chk his experience in my MNP thread.

Nope, people don't use economy data plan for downloading aren't they? Plus I'm on a moving vehicle, speed may vary place to place.
Is it only some places can roam on Maxis3G? Kelantan has wide coverage for Maxis3G since I'm previous user of Maxis.

+1

I ported to Umobile because of their good service
Their customer service has always been non-existent or utter rubbish

Now that their service has also dropped like ....
with daily voice line dropouts (yes, drop outs in a daily basis even if I stayed in 1 spot)
prepaid USSD code always shows "Connection problem or invalid MMI code" even though it's correct
Reception going worst in good covered areas - we're getting Umobile network not available so often
slow internet in good reception (4/5 bar with H - I can't even stream a 320p video without buffer)
speed test now shows max 1mbps than before was like 4mpbs average

So I've crowned Umobile to be the worst customer service of all telco's in Malaysia.
This is written in my blog recently by my personal few times experience with their RUDEST customer service staffs and.. yes there's more, but wait, part 2 is coming soon..

Congratulations Umobile.
