while we are talking about fairings, i have just replace my er6-n yellow bikini fairing
cost rm 175, original, factory painted, minus the decals now i am left with a slightly broken (but repairable) left side fairing for er6-n. if there's anyone here needing it, pls pm me. i'll let it go at low price, so you can have plenty of money to repair and repaint it to restore your ride |

My experience riding Ninja 250R and ER6n, these two bikes have such design that hot air coming from the engine is blown straight to your legs, especially during a stop at the traffic light.
I know a friend who is riding a Shiver 750, tho it is a naked bike, did not experience such a thing. I wonder what it is like on that expensive Ducati Street Fighter. |

QUOTE(technosakai @ Jul 20 2012, 02:23 PM) what do you expect? it's very little storage space insidebuy a box. you can put tons of things inside store your helmet and bring your raincoat + slipper (when raining, swap your office shoes wih slippers) |

guys, how many km intervals for your beloved ride's oil change service?
i'm planning to do every 3,000km since i takes me 4 months just to cover 3,000km. (lots of short distance ride) oil and filter change cost roughly RM100, which i think i can manage every 4 months. need your opinions |

the 650cc er6N/F is considered as beginner bike
the learning curve is not steep, and i can ride the bike well in traffic condition in less than a week previously, i rode only scooters. not even geared bike. let alone a bike with clutch. |

would advise you to get B full license first if you haven't.. then ride on some kapcai for a few years only then upgrade to bigger cc bikes... I rode on my dad's 500cc virago when i was 18... thought i could manage and understand the danger.. but only to fall multiple times.. lol...

Riding 500cc above bike especially if your body size not big is quite difficult at first till u have some techniques some bikes can weight more than 200KG and might be a problem for you to lift it up/control the bike. better start from kapcai and upgrade gradually. |

Couldn't agree with you more on this although I started on 800cc bike without any knowledge how to ride a bike but i manage to control the bike after few try. The hardest thing is trying to pick up the bike when it fall down. There's this one time i stop at traffic light & without any reason suddenly i fall down *i also dont know why*. Was panicking & so embarrased that time i pull the bike up and it feels so light xDsome bikes can weight more than 200KG and might be a problem for you to lift it up/control the bike. better start from kapcai and upgrade gradually. |

We use the tire as a fulcrum to lift up the bike. Take example of flipping a bag of cement. That's what i've thought |

QUOTE(jkwanness @ Jul 28 2012, 12:58 AM) hahaha same experience here... a then 53KG me lifting a 200+KG Virago... under the stares of people, somehow the strength is there lol... Maybe all the hidden strength come out when people stares at us xDQUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Jul 28 2012, 04:53 AM) I know the reason why the big bike is light even though we don't have strength. But at home when the bike fall down i have to scream my lungs out asking help from my dad but that time i dont know i can lift it up by myself :SWe no need to lift the entire bike (including the tires) off the ground. We use the tire as a fulcrum to lift up the bike. Take example of flipping a bag of cement. That's what i've thought |

you can buy them if you have singapore work permit or you are a singapore PR and you need to have singapore bike license if I'm not mistaken.
if you don't have those above, you can still buy sg bikes. with complete documents, you will not have trouble passing the traffic police or jpj. but if the custom officers come with their truck and take your bike, you can only sit & watch helplessly because it is illegal to buy foreign vehicles without paying taxes. that's as far as i know. if you like living dangerously then go for it. |

i realize bikes like triumph daytona 675r and benelli tnt 899 only around 60k+ while having the power of a supersport.

It's unique torquey inline 3 engine made it the fastest 600's in track.... Heck it even beat the GSX-R 750 in track.... The sound is just awesome.... Why it's more expensive ? simply coz in Malaysia it is hard to sell.... |

I paid another 1/3 on monday and collected document to register at JPJ. I registered yesterday and supposed to collect the bike yesterday but the kedai couldnt manage to fulfill their promise and postpone to today. I know that the price is not the best deal in town. Another shop in Klang quoted me RM14.5k cash with many free gift like helmet, jacket, glove, raincoat, jacket, etc. but they do not have the color I want. |

one time i was filling up, and was distracted by a hotchick in a VW GTI,
accidently poured the petrol on the outer rim of the fuel hatch. Then suddenly felt some liquid dripping near by shoe. aiya, jangan ingat benda lain ya. |

manufacturer price will still be the same but the new face and meter design alone give the shops an opportunity to increase the price. Unless kawa really wants to kill off the competition from Honda.

say for mesh jacket, without washing, sometimes it does gets dirty or dusty after riding.. so u all just leave it there? u know when cruising high speed on highways all those bugs will splash on ur jacket lol.. leave it as it is?
as for leather suits, did u all actually use any oil appropriate for leather to clean it? u wouldnt want to leave ur RM3000 leather suit there not taken care of as well rite? and in the long run, ur leather might just crack off.. Added on August 3, 2012, 5:41 pmwonder how many of u all here on sportsbike uses full leather suit? due to our hot weather.. wearing a leather is like wrapping urself in an oven.. or do u all prefer mesh/perforated jacket/pants? am thinking of investing in a leather suit thou.. currently using half leather half mesh.. full leather looks gooding yo This post has been edited by icecolddamncold: Aug 3 2012, 05:41 PM |

QUOTE(masz94 @ Aug 3 2012, 06:20 PM) The black chassis models had most issues corrected..... Be vary that they all are carb models... so the 2007 silver chassis not worth at all?my mechanic told me is the carburetor setting problem, replace the setting chipset(or similiar things perhaps?) will solve the problem, i will arrange my time to meet the fellow tonight, anything to check the bike condition? So if u got a good deal for a black chassis Blade, the it's ok to go for it... |

There's no such thing as the chipset, coz that bike uses CDi instead of ECU on Fi bikes...The problem with most silver chassis Blade's was the Cam.... IINM, Most changed ones are marked with a dot at the valve cover.... U test ride, check for any oil leaks, Bent forks or swing arm and rims, any sign of prev. accident, and the engine sound ( make sure no krakk sound ( that indicates ruined valves).... It is advisable that u bring somebody that knows how to check bikes... |

QUOTE(alvanyap @ Aug 4 2012, 12:15 AM) if u still insists on a 2nd hand unit, might wanna take a look at yellow 250n in mudah with rainbow color exhaust. met with the owner of the bike last nite. The bike is an 05 model (silver chassis) but he had everything sorted out. I'd put my money on that bike if not for one reason, the name is still the first owner's name. Apparently, he is un-reachable. The current owner infact sent a letter (address on grant) till now also no replies. I can safely say, this bike is just buy and ride. Nothing else to be done. He had already done everything by himself. He spent monies on parts and fix em himself. A true bike enthusiast. He even spray painted by himself. Yeah, in his home back yard. what he posted in the ads are true. new carbs, new heads, etc. Tho its an 05, but now it has digital meter. And most of all, it sounds awesome. |

Using a sponge and clean water. After, let it dry before keeping it in wardrobe. Of track, I use suit too for long ride. Not for looking cool but feel more rigid on my bike Get that 1 pcs perforated leather suit and you will never use any jacket after that. |

Decent mesh jacket will be enough. I still ride with only mesh jacket at 10deg cool season. Better save for a good leather suit.im thinking of maintaining 2 sets of riding gear, short ride with mesh leather jacket and pants, and if going for long distance ride with perforated leather jacket/pants.. just about to invest in either the Dainese Avro Div 2-pc leather suit or the RS Taichi GMX Motion Vented Leather jacket and its combining GMX Motion Vented Leather pants.. but having a hard time choosing between this 2 No comments for 2 pcs suit but IMO, it never better as 1 pcs suit. Dainese or Alpinestar is always preferred brand. Check at local store. There are too many range to choose. If really serious, get the replica Many custom made and tailor to size available at the market. And most popular supplier if not mistaken is from Pakistan or India. They supply to our local dealer and you can custom anyway you like. Just be aware that they might use synthetic or artificial leather. Quality wise im not sure. My friend bought a custom jacket and he seems feel regret about the quality. Price is the winner. I use Alpinestar Tech 1-R leather suit. Good deal from Paksu@Mecinda including Alpinestar 1 pcs inner suit. And i have GP R air jacket bought from online. So far, it is the best for me. Alpinestar suit Alpinestar jacket Try to look for MotostyleStore in facebook. They sell some ready made and many custom made suit. |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Aug 4 2012, 11:50 PM) oh... THAT bridge Terkezut when I saw that one month that you post earlier xD I see. Well, actually after 2 years holding L license finally I decided to take the JPJ test. I'm not worried bout other part of exam except for that bridge. I manage to get 7. something something & not that confident yet but today I tried to get 9 second but get 10.6 second. The best I've got so far, maybe the practice on my lil bro 90cc chopper all this time is worth it xD JPJ test this coming friday 7 seconds min i did mine in 7.5 seconds or something like that the trick is ride normally and then when you are nearing the end, brake and do a balancing act, then quickly ride down This post has been edited by ewan8811: Aug 5 2012, 12:07 AM |

QUOTE(monaz @ Aug 4 2012, 06:04 PM) For me, not need leather jacket for short distance ride. Decent mesh jacket will be enough. I still ride with only mesh jacket at 10deg cool season. Better save for a good leather suit. saving up really hard for a good leather suit like Dainese No comments for 2 pcs suit but IMO, it never better as 1 pcs suit. Have u all heard about this recently quite aggressive Pakistan guy marketing his custom leather suit? yes he's from Pakistan and his company running in facebook is call Stem Custom Wear.its pure replica suit thats why im not taking it into consideration.. prefer original yo nice suit u got there dude.. reason why im going for 2pc suit is mainly because of the hot weather.. at least u get to take off ur jacket off when taking a break from a ride halfway through rather than ur upper jacket hanging lol.. thanks for the suggestion bro will check that out.. cant access facebook rite now hahaha.. |

I don't like Alpinestar mainly because of their cutting (more suited for caucasians). Dainese and Rev-It mostly have asian cuttings, which is pretty nice for most of us. I like my apparels fit, not baggy.

Choosing a perfect suit is not always easy esp when you are about to pay 3-4k of money Normally, it is price vs size vs availability. I checked before cheaper Dainese and even expensive Berik (kangaroo) but at the end I choose the most comfortable with me. |

For 1pc, I have a Spidi Track Wind Pro.i personally dont like Alpinestar designs la Dainese and RS Taichi are my current favorites but but but.... still yet to own either one of them My advice: 1. Go leather for maximum safety. Besides acting like a 2nd skin to your precious skin, you would surely look darn good in a suit 2. Fit. Must be skin tight! I am 65kg at 165cm - my GMX is size 48 and Spidi is at 46. After my 1st crash, I tailored my GMX for a skin tight fit on both my sleeves 3. Ventilation - get a suit with proper ventilation to maintain temperature composure. Always wear a baselayer 4. Inner linings - better still if it can be detachable for proper sanitation. Baselayer helps in this area as well 5. Budget - get one which fits your budget I send my leather wear to laundry where they will dry clean the inside and treat the leather with mink oil. Initially I was also contemplating on getting a 2pc Dainese Laguna Seca - but the fit & vents is not exactly to my liking though it look damn good. |

Its a very wide matter to address. What are the facts that we have here, (Lets not discuss shopping malls, just a simple parking building will do.) 1. some have designated motor entrance. usually flat rate. 2. some have motor lane entrance but no fee. 3. some have no motor entrance per se, but you will see motorbike parking spot. 4. some have no entrance nor parking spot for motor. If you're up for parking the bike at valet parking, go ahead. But the "management" reserves the right to refuse customers. The reason? Valet parking means the cars will be moved around to accommodate the other cars coming and going, hence, most likely you'll be giving the keys to the valet. For the bike, the probably wont want to play around so much hence they might reject you. I once payed about 20 bucks for valet, but parked the bike myself in a spot cars cant get to anyway, so it was win-win for us. But if they demand to keep your keys, I just walk away. Added on August 7, 2012, 2:41 pm QUOTE(lucifah @ Aug 7 2012, 12:46 PM) park in front of the main door, just like a boss aah, interestingly, I tried this a couple of times.or you can pay for a car-sized parking space or better yet, just pay for a vallet 1. one time my bike was chained. 2. another time when exiting, even though i payed for the ticket, the palang wouldnt go up. Comes with a windproof liner - i dont use it unless weather is gloomy or I just dont feel like having a windblast 4. Yes, inner suit. 5. Budget 3K u can get both the GMX jacket and pants. Good for long rides and can take it down to the track as well. My personal review for my GMX setup is pretty good. Since I had a mild crash with it (on the right side shoulder) it held up pretty well. Leather is quite supple and the jacket vents well when you are moving. I ride a naked bike, hence wind blast is a plenty. |

Midvalley parking is really a mess. If you have to ride, ride a cubchai there. Entrace just follow all the loading bay signs.
I work in midvalley so I use the lot everyday. Nice thing is that I come earlier than shopping hours, so I can use the limited big-bike parking lot at the first bike lot after entering midvalley's loading bay from federal highway |

I always park there too whenever I go to MV. last time I parked at the police area but now too packed already. the so called big bike parking below probably can only accommodate 6-8 bikes at most, so far I always manage to park there. but 1 thing I hate is the humps, they are quite high compared to normal ones. choppers will have trouble with them I guess but most of time I went out from the way I came in, less hassle. I guess others are doing the same too.

No offense to other riders out there, but sometimes i find it unreasonable for some of the smaller bikes (that can fit in the lot) that consumes the big bike place outside.I do agree on the humps though. The first two humps have some side gap that bikes can get through, but the others are just too darn high. I had to adjust my midpipe's clap's bolts 90 degrees otherwise i keep hitting the hump and potentially crack my headers. |

QUOTE(phobian @ Aug 7 2012, 05:17 PM) 2. Yes - super snugly fit. For flex zones, like the waist, knees, elbows and shoulders just make sure they have flex haha guess i will lay my hands on the Taichi.. or the Dainese only 3. Yes, it is perforated. I ride a naked bike, hence wind blast is a plenty. are bike apparels in HK a lot cheaper than it is in msia? if its cheaper then i might end up buying all my stuffs there.. if not wait till come back msia only buy |

QUOTE(geekmy @ Aug 8 2012, 10:23 AM) Midvalley parking is really a mess. If you have to ride, ride a cubchai there. Entrace just follow all the loading bay signs. Adding to the list of places to park big cc bikes which I have parked before:I work in midvalley so I use the lot everyday. Nice thing is that I come earlier than shopping hours, so I can use the limited big-bike parking lot at the first bike lot after entering midvalley's loading bay from federal highway 1. One Utama - old wing - Right in front of TGIF, they call it big bike parking. But if I recall correctly, it could only fit like 6-7 ER6 size bikes. No locker and not shaded - If you want shaded place to park the bike safely, head to First Avenue. On concourse level (the minute you enter the carpark) there is place to park. But it will be swamped with mopeds/cubs. Head to B1, left side of the building where you will come across a shaded place to park - ample space. If B1 runs out of space, go to B2. Be warned as you will need to go through another parking beam as it is meant for season parkers. I work in this building, thus parking in B2 is the best choice as its nearer to the lift. 2. G Tower KL - The minute you enter the carpark only you will be greeted by bikes left, right, center. It is all over, range from small to big cc bikes. If first level is swamped, just head to the lower level. Shaded parking. 3. Citta Mall, PJ - I would say this mall took into consideration of bikes very well. It has both open air and shaded. Open air bike parking are designated slots located opposite of the main entrance or in front of some cafe shop which I cannot recall the name. - Shaded parking for bikes, you have to access the lower ground. Head down to the ramp downwards, pass the lift on the left and u can see the bike parking area on the left hand side. 4. KL Sentral area, Quill 7 and One sentral. Hate to drive to this area! - Both shaded in its multi level carpark. Depends where I need to be. Both shaded and easy to park the bikes. Just make sure the bike is not obstructing any vehicles and traffic and its fine. - Designated bike parking at both areas are normally packed with early birds. But I was told management kept 1 eye close ensuring that bikers adhere to proper regulation. To the 4 above, if you happen to ride a Spyder out - only Citta Mall's parking can accommodate that kind of space. The rest, forget it. Lets all be considerate and park properly: 1. No matter how flashy your bike is, do not park at main entrances unless you are told so with authoritative permission. Love to see those idiots arguing to get their bikes un-clamped at MidValley as they park their bikes between the walkway of MV and Gardens. 2. Disabled parking area are for disabled. If you can ride a bike, I am sure you are able enough unless you are Mick Doohan 3. Be mindful when you enter carpark. Most of them have crazy height humps, smooth cement surfaces and idiots whom do not maintain their vehicle well enough causing oil leaks everywhere. Er6 is a parallel-twin engine. it uses two cylinders, hence only need about 2 litres of engine oil (two bottles). If one bottle on average is RM30, then:RM 30 x 2 + RM40 (oil filter) + labour RM15 = RM 115 (average). CBR600R is a four-cylinder engine. It needs four litres of engine oil, if using the same values above, you'll pay RM60 extra ever service: RM 30 x 4 + RM40 + RM15 = RM 175 Not to mention engine wear and tear parts (those major services) will cost twice more as there's two more cylinders. |

Mileage should set you no more than 7.5k kms unless you are using hard compound likes of BT021 or 23. ER6 uses 160 sized tyres, which you can get from RM480-RM600 (depending on type). That's a few hundred ringgits shaved off compared to the price of 180 sized tyres (which the CBR use). However, to me depends greatly on what you plan to do. I use my ER-6 as a daily commuting bike. So periodic maintenance, wear & tear cost is important to me. My bike is about 18 months old and have clocked 43,000km of mileage (moderate use, i guess). If you plan to use your bikes as weekend riding, and occasional convoys, then CBR600R wouldn't dent your pocket in the maintenance realm. |

Another pointer is that the CBR600 has a sport riding position (which means you'll crouch down lower). This have two things (to me at least): 1) you might suffer backpain over prolonged use, and 2) it can be a little tricky to weave around traffic.ER6 have an upright, tourer-style riding position, which is more relaxed (quite close to mopeds). However, at the end of the day, get the bike that you like. A bike has to be cool |

QUOTE(phobian @ Aug 9 2012, 11:41 PM) If you flash lots of Renmimbi, maybe. My last trip there I did not have enough time to shop around, though I source many retail outlets from ibike.com.hk. What I can say is that they have lots of variety from top brands. Hence, I could not comment if it is a lot cheaper - but I would say I got my RX7RR5 for a steal! i will be staying in HK for 2 nites, if needed to extend maybe can extend 1 more nite just to shop for my bike apparels 1) Kowloon, Yick Man Building - Moto mart co 车迷城, mostly retail komine and alpinestars product range 2) Kowloon, Pau Chung Street - 亚林, retails RS Taichi product range 3) Northpoint, HK - Dainese Hong Kong 4) Wong Kok, HK - 嘉利 Shoei and Spidi products let's see my trip there this round will be fruitful or not cant afford to get another Arai anymore, my Shoei which is too tight for me not yet sold haha.. some more just bought another X-lite X802 Carlos Checa helmet |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Aug 10 2012, 08:26 PM) dun think so even used bike is not allow for unknown test drive, cause simple fall will cost hundred for repairt (fairing ++)most bike shop won't allow you to test ride a brand new bike, unless you are quite known to them at most, you can just sit on the bike i guess unless you are buying 2nd hand... If you are going to shop for helmet, just be mindful to bring a head liner, balaclava or similar when you try it out. HK folks are pretty cautious when it comes to hygiene. QUOTE(wintzen @ Aug 10 2012, 03:25 PM) Yes and no. Yes in condition that you are recommended by a friend whom brings you to the shop and your friend's assurance is at stake if anything happens Yes if you are being honest that you can handle the bike No if you do not ask. Same applies if you behave like a snob No if you do not show confidence that you cannot handle the bike |

normally the shop will never ever let unknown customer to test the bike, there are cases where so called potential customer took the bike for a test run then never to return again. big bikes are very expensive to repair, even a stationary crash would cost thousands. I heard there are shops who give you the opportunity to test but you have to sign some letters first lah. drop it, it's yours.
Added on August 11, 2012, 1:59 amoh if you plan to buy exhaust overseas, do not ship with FedEx, use dhl instead. I've done it once and the exhaust reached my place without getting taxed. I did the same with my phone from UK, not getting taxed as well. This post has been edited by sanosizo: Aug 11 2012, 01:59 AM |

QUOTE(farique @ Aug 11 2012, 05:33 AM) perhaps it was remarked as a gift instead of purchased items? I heard if the sender state on the form as a gift, then it wont be taxed. Not sure if this true tho, havent bought anything from outside malaysia. no bro. it does not work anymore. such big packaging usually will be open for inquiry.Added on August 11, 2012, 5:53 am QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Aug 11 2012, 01:48 AM) 10%+15% including of postage fees 25% is just for duty import fee not including postage. usually Currier will call you asking if you want to collect ur by ur own or they will collect for u with fee.but u can ask seller to change invoice to (below rm 500 including of postage fees), or testing purpose, or u run academy . . .. .
