if anyone know or can help that would be wonderful.
If the bike is new and the odo is still 0, is it something bad gonna happen to the bike if i straightly install full system on  it? want to put in r55 yoshi full system on r6.
Plus anyone know which shop sell it, if not need to order online and install it on my own.  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif

No harm done. Just get it installed. On the other note to maximise the power of the newly installed full exhaust system - just budget for a computerized fuel controller.

yes thats why trying on a suit by urself is very crucial!!! too bad my place here dont hv any descent bike apparel shop.. so sad when i comes to think of it sometimes.. and i didnt get to go back msia so often  cry.gif

i personally dont like Alpinestar designs la laugh.gif no offense to AS fans, thats my personal preference rolleyes.gif

Dainese and RS Taichi are my current favorites but but but.... still yet to own either one of them sweat.gif and definitely they will be owned for my first suit thumbup.gif
*
I own a GMX motion jacket paired with a RSY817 pants for touring/distance rides as my 2pc gear. For 1pc, I have a Spidi Track Wind Pro.

My advice:
1. Go leather for maximum safety. Besides acting like a 2nd skin to your precious skin, you would surely look darn good in a suit
2. Fit. Must be skin tight! I am 65kg at 165cm - my GMX is size 48 and Spidi is at 46. After my 1st crash, I tailored my GMX for a skin tight fit on both my sleeves
3. Ventilation - get a suit with proper ventilation to maintain temperature composure. Always wear a baselayer
4. Inner linings - better still if it can be detachable for proper sanitation. Baselayer helps in this area as well
5. Budget - get one which fits your budget

I send my leather wear to laundry where they will dry clean the inside and treat the leather with mink oil.

Initially I was also contemplating on getting a 2pc Dainese Laguna Seca - but the fit & vents is not exactly to my liking though it look damn good.

those are the exact models im looking at and aiming at! RS Taichi GMX Motion Leather Jacket paired with its combining GMX Motion Pants

http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=11492

thumbup.gif

what's ur personal review on this set bro phobian?

1. yes i indeed planning to go leather for long distance ride.. thus wanna maintain 2 sets of riding gear, now i have my mesh gear on already..
2. skin tight as in how helmet must be snugly fitted on ur head? lol that will be darn hot riding in our weather!!
3. GMX Motion is perforated leather right? thus ventilation is there and suitable for our hot weather sportbike riding style thumbup.gif
4. do u mean inner suit lining? once i get my suit yes i would definitely get an inner suit liner biggrin.gif
5. budget is ~RM3k laugh.gif

Dainese has really god damn nice suits.. but i realized most of them are not perforated like what the RS Taichi has to offer. Dainese does offer breathable materials, as u said the vents might not work as well as perforated leather.. Laguna Seca suit a bit out of my budget thus aiming for the Avro Div 2-pc if i would have to choose a Dainese nod.gif
*
2. Yes - super snugly fit. For flex zones, like the waist, knees, elbows and shoulders just make sure they have flex
3. Yes, it is perforated. Comes with a windproof liner - i dont use it unless weather is gloomy or I just dont feel like having a windblast
4. Yes, inner suit.
5. Budget 3K u can get both the GMX jacket and pants. Good for long rides and can take it down to the track as well.

My personal review for my GMX setup is pretty good. Since I had a mild crash with it (on the right side shoulder) it held up pretty well. Leather is quite supple and the jacket vents well when you are moving. I ride a naked bike, hence wind blast is a plenty.

haha guess i will lay my hands on the Taichi.. or the Dainese only laugh.gif cant wait for my hong kong trip this october.. gonna go there check those bike apparels rclxm9.gif

are bike apparels in HK a lot cheaper than it is in msia? if its cheaper then i might end up buying all my stuffs there.. if not wait till come back msia only buy sweat.gif
*
If you flash lots of Renmimbi, maybe. My last trip there I did not have enough time to shop around, though I source many retail outlets from ibike.com.hk. What I can say is that they have lots of variety from top brands. Hence, I could not comment if it is a lot cheaper - but I would say I got my RX7RR5 for a steal!

Midvalley parking is really a mess. If you have to ride, ride a cubchai there. Entrace just follow all the loading bay signs.

I work in midvalley so I use the lot everyday. Nice thing is that I come earlier than shopping hours, so I can use the limited big-bike parking lot at the first bike lot after entering midvalley's loading bay from federal highway
*
Adding to the list of places to park big cc bikes which I have parked before:

1. One Utama - old wing
- Right in front of TGIF, they call it big bike parking. But if I recall correctly, it could only fit like 6-7 ER6 size bikes. No locker and not shaded
- If you want shaded place to park the bike safely, head to First Avenue. On concourse level (the minute you enter the carpark) there is place to park. But it will be swamped with mopeds/cubs. Head to B1, left side of the building where you will come across a shaded place to park - ample space. If B1 runs out of space, go to B2. Be warned as you will need to go through another parking beam as it is meant for season parkers. I work in this building, thus parking in B2 is the best choice as its nearer to the lift.

2. G Tower KL
- The minute you enter the carpark only you will be greeted by bikes left, right, center. It is all over, range from small to big cc bikes. If first level is swamped, just head to the lower level. Shaded parking.

3. Citta Mall, PJ
- I would say this mall took into consideration of bikes very well. It has both open air and shaded. Open air bike parking are designated slots located opposite of the main entrance or in front of some cafe shop which I cannot recall the name.
- Shaded parking for bikes, you have to access the lower ground. Head down to the ramp downwards, pass the lift on the left and u can see the bike parking area on the left hand side.

4. KL Sentral area, Quill 7 and One sentral. Hate to drive to this area!
- Both shaded in its multi level carpark. Depends where I need to be. Both shaded and easy to park the bikes. Just make sure the bike is not obstructing any vehicles and traffic and its fine.
- Designated bike parking at both areas are normally packed with early birds. But I was told management kept 1 eye close ensuring that bikers adhere to proper regulation.

To the 4 above, if you happen to ride a Spyder out - only Citta Mall's parking can accommodate that kind of space. The rest, forget it.

Lets all be considerate and park properly:
1. No matter how flashy your bike is, do not park at main entrances unless you are told so with authoritative permission. Love to see those idiots arguing to get their bikes un-clamped at MidValley as they park their bikes between the walkway of MV and Gardens.
2. Disabled parking area are for disabled. If you can ride a bike, I am sure you are able enough unless you are Mick Doohan
3. Be mindful when you enter carpark. Most of them have crazy height humps, smooth cement surfaces and idiots whom do not maintain their vehicle well enough causing oil leaks everywhere.

Bang some tables and make lots of noise to Kawasaki to bring it in! But I believe those with red base colours and trim is not for malaysia market. Enquired before on the black & red trim 2012 ZX10r and was told to move to US if I want one. Alternatively, Malaysia Boleh - spray it ourselves.

Er6 is a parallel-twin engine. it uses two cylinders, hence only need about 2 litres of engine oil (two bottles). If one bottle on average is RM30, then:

RM 30 x 2 + RM40 (oil filter) + labour RM15 = RM 115 (average).
CBR600R is a four-cylinder engine. It needs four litres of engine oil, if using the same values above, you'll pay RM60 extra ever service:

RM 30 x 4 + RM40 + RM15 = RM 175

Not to mention engine wear and tear parts (those major services) will cost twice more as there's two more cylinders.
*
Adding to the injury - tyres! Each rear tyre would set you RM600-800 depending on the level of stickiness you want. Mileage should set you no more than 7.5k kms unless you are using hard compound likes of BT021 or 23. Basic rule of thumb, ratio of front & rear tyre change is 1:2.

i will be staying in HK for 2 nites, if needed to extend maybe can extend 1 more nite just to shop for my bike apparels laugh.gif listed down all the shops i wanted to visit, most of them located at Kowloon.. lol source it from ibike.com.hk too..

1) Kowloon, Yick Man Building - Moto mart co 车迷城, mostly retail komine and alpinestars product range
2) Kowloon, Pau Chung Street - 亚林, retails RS Taichi product range
3) Northpoint, HK - Dainese Hong Kong drool.gif
4) Wong Kok, HK - 嘉利 Shoei and Spidi products

let's see my trip there this round will be fruitful or not rclxm9.gif

cant afford to get another Arai anymore, my Shoei which is too tight for me not yet sold haha.. some more just bought another X-lite X802 Carlos Checa helmet sweat.gif
*
Looks good, hope you would cart back a cartload of goodies. Dont forget to flash flash them.

About your Shoei RF1100 - have you tried emailing Shoei customer support if the problem can be rectified by changing the cheek pads or head liner?

If you are going to shop for helmet, just be mindful to bring a head liner, balaclava or similar when you try it out. HK folks are pretty cautious when it comes to hygiene.

When normally getting a superbike, would you be able to test ride?
*
Yes and no.

Yes in condition that you are recommended by a friend whom brings you to the shop and your friend's assurance is at stake if anything happens

Yes if you are being honest that you can handle the bike

No if you do not ask. Same applies if you behave like a snob

No if you do not show confidence that you cannot handle the bike

folks, riding jacket.. to mesh or not to mesh?

Id be out from home for work around 6:40am KL time, does mesh can give some warm feeling?
*
At 6.40am, go with mesh and you do not risk looking sweaty. This also depends how long you stuck at standstill traffic, in between vehicles emitting hot gasses.

Wear a base layer - wicks moisture and removes odor. When I am on leathers, I would not put it on unless I wear a base layer. Mesh undersuits are bloody crap if you would to ask me.

QUOTE(farique @ Aug 13 2012, 06:29 PM)
thanks for the input guys. Really appreciate it.

6:40am out from home and will be home by 6pm. I do thought of mesh jacket but then, these few days Ive been piggyback my friend bike with not wearing any jacket at all. Just plain t-shirt. You know what, its so damn fakin cold! But for fasting month, we are allowed to leave at 4pm, and man.. its freakin hot! That got me thinking of mesh jacket.

but then, after fasting month, we are only allowed to be out after 5pm which is less hotter and the sun is setting. I think padded jacket would be fine I guess?
leather? I cant afford that. Will do if I can in the future. Leather is most advantage for bikers apparel.
*
Earlier I gave it some thought whether I should go for another mesh jacket for daily commuting. But what hits me is that our tropical climate. I have an open weave mesh jacket already for super hot weather. Even with that jacket, I still sweat profusely during stops - but that is just me. Evening rides with this jacket could still feel lots of wind and what is worst is weather conditions after rain - brrrrr cold to the bone.

My cordura jacket gave way and I got it replaced with a RS Taichi RSJ287 jacket as my daily jacket. Outer material is made of nylon and you have optional openings for air ventilations. I have not tested in rain as it claims to be able to resist water but surprisingly the vents work quite alrite. Inner jacket liner is polyester mesh and feels quite good. Though I got the smallest size, only qualm I have is the cutting does not look tight. Worry not, but there are fasteners all around your sleeve and waist area. Currently retailing at Motoworld for RM650. You want to try it out to see if this fits you as an all rounder.

let's say i custom made a Dainese suit? saw a lot of ppl tailored their own suit with this Motostyle Store.. wonder any lyn superbikers dealed with them before?

emailed them d and seems like quite a good deal thumbup.gif
*
Custom suits@ MotostyleStore is made of cowhide and stitchings are alright. I have seen their work - it is neither bad nor best. My rule of thumb is that I would only go for something customized unless I would not be able to find something off the rack.

would like to know if hand carry helmet from oversea kastam will kacau or not?
*
Depends on luck actually - I have heard horror stories but most are pleasant ones. Personally I have tried hand carrying them from Singapore (via LCCT) and Hong Kong (via KLIA). At both occasions I got through by just breezing through without the need to scan my bags upon exit.

In addition to SonnyCool's reply:
1. I wanted to keep the box - so I fold them neat and tight into my check-in luggage. I am on business travels most of the time, so space is a plenty
2. Singapore, I brought my Bagster tailbag along and hand carry the helmet through - not so suspicious
3. Hong Kong, I just put it into the helmet bag as I did not bring the tailbag. Put alongside my carry ons and roll through the customs

Depending which airlines and destination you are flying - always check if it is within their safety regulation if you can hand carry the helmet into the aircraft. Otherwise, you got to check it in. It may sound stupid, but prevention is better than arguing with safety policies and procedures.

If you ever get stop - based on the customs rule book, we are subjected to 15% tax if I recall correctly. If you do not have the proof of purchase, they will search using their means using the retail price they could find. A cheaper alternative is to buy your way out. Personally, I have not tried this and hopeful enough I do not need to. So do it at your own risk.

Of all the Harleys - if I would to buy one, it would be the Sportster 883R or 48. The rest are just....not my taste. Not forgetting the folks of HD Club Malaysia which I would not be able to get along with.

haha sorry late reply working = ="
i always  drool.gif to the sound of yamaha R1 /R6 and zx6r , even  wub.gif  when its already change the exhaust muffler
and love the superbike aura look thumbup.gif  , especially those riders pass by your car wave at you or some just got down from his/her superbike with them full helmet on and black riding jacket

my usage is like weekend ride ,go up genting and cameron ( love hill roads)
sometimes jam up badly during holidays still wont stop me from heading down north or south for holidays
and sometimes short distance go shopping malls easier find parking.

coz i tested my friends er6f during stock and after modifying  Yoshimura exhaust , still feel the sound is missing something not as good as those superbike deep , evil bass
*
R1 exhaust note, I understand. But R6 & ZX6 - this got me thinking. The best sounding ZX6r I have heard is the one with Arrow race tech full system. Again, the note could only be music to my ears beyond 8k RPM. A more rempit sounding supersports 600 bike for me is still the CBR600.

No pun intended, but I may look at it as pizza - but roti prata to you. Same goes the other way.

You can still get personal loan within your limit for 6% interest per annum - this depends on your financing creditability from your bank.

well i can say no bank offer 6% per annum anymore for loan below 30k, the cheapest interest nw is 9.88% frm alliance or SC, Hlb around 12% and cimb around 12.88% for loan below 20k and 9.88% for above 50k
*
Spot on. But again, like I say it all depends on your financing creditability. I was offered but rejected them as I see no need for it. Either you can call me a liar for feeding wrong information or you may go ahead and ask OCBC why did they give me that rate.
