QUOTE(kapalterbang_737 @ Jul 20 2012, 06:55 PM) What I can fit into rear seat compartment... wowwww! how did u managed to scrap ur left knee slider that way i) Naza Blade 250R - factory provided toolpack + 1 pack of food in polystyrene packaging ii) Ninja 250R - can't recall, but the space is smaller than Blade iii) R1 - factory fitted toolpack only...raincoat maybe fit too if folded I'm using Michelin Pilot Power 2CT on my R1..superb grip on dry and wet roads, cruising at 160km/h in heavy rain without problem Ohh and it's good on the track too » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i installed it in April and it's now clocked close to 8,000km...thread is still good but i think not as good as Michelin Pilot Road 2 i used on my Blade last time...clocked close to 15,000km but still looks like new! now i know why lol by looking at the left side of ur tyre so 2 of these tyres are of dual compound rite? needs a dual compound if i would use michelin as the soft type wouldnt be able to make it for 5000km seems that the Pilot Road 2 has better review Pros: more grip, longer lasting SOS: webbikeworld Pilot Power 2CT: cheaper option? however when it comes to higher speed cornering, the front tyre seems to be moving around a lot causing reduced confidence in lean angle sos: motorcycle USA any other recommendations? how bout dunlop or bridgestones? |

say for mesh jacket, without washing, sometimes it does gets dirty or dusty after riding.. so u all just leave it there? u know when cruising high speed on highways all those bugs will splash on ur jacket lol.. leave it as it is?
as for leather suits, did u all actually use any oil appropriate for leather to clean it? u wouldnt want to leave ur RM3000 leather suit there not taken care of as well rite? and in the long run, ur leather might just crack off.. Added on August 3, 2012, 5:41 pmwonder how many of u all here on sportsbike uses full leather suit? due to our hot weather.. wearing a leather is like wrapping urself in an oven.. or do u all prefer mesh/perforated jacket/pants? am thinking of investing in a leather suit thou.. currently using half leather half mesh.. full leather looks gooding yo This post has been edited by icecolddamncold: Aug 3 2012, 05:41 PM |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Aug 3 2012, 08:52 PM) never rode at night or early morning, so no bugs to eat i got a full black mesh leather jacket haha so far did what u mentioned above, soak in cold water with very mild soap.. no fadding of color just that the perforated leather starts to crack a bit but should it get dirty, mebbe gonna take out the armor pads, soak the jacket in cold water with very mild soap, then rinse. dun want the color to fade... i have to agree leather jackets look sharp - just like in the movies. but it just don't make sense wearing it under our hot sun, in slow moving traffic i tried with a heavy denim jacket, but i end up with kurap / white spots on my arms due to sweat im thinking of maintaining 2 sets of riding gear, short ride with mesh leather jacket and pants, and if going for long distance ride with perforated leather jacket/pants.. just about to invest in either the Dainese Avro Div 2-pc leather suit or the RS Taichi GMX Motion Vented Leather jacket and its combining GMX Motion Vented Leather pants.. but having a hard time choosing between this 2 |

QUOTE(monaz @ Aug 4 2012, 06:04 PM) For me, not need leather jacket for short distance ride. Decent mesh jacket will be enough. I still ride with only mesh jacket at 10deg cool season. Better save for a good leather suit. saving up really hard for a good leather suit like Dainese No comments for 2 pcs suit but IMO, it never better as 1 pcs suit. Dainese or Alpinestar is always preferred brand. Check at local store. There are too many range to choose. If really serious, get the replica Many custom made and tailor to size available at the market. And most popular supplier if not mistaken is from Pakistan or India. They supply to our local dealer and you can custom anyway you like. Just be aware that they might use synthetic or artificial leather. Quality wise im not sure. My friend bought a custom jacket and he seems feel regret about the quality. Price is the winner. I use Alpinestar Tech 1-R leather suit. Good deal from Paksu@Mecinda including Alpinestar 1 pcs inner suit. And i have GP R air jacket bought from online. So far, it is the best for me. Alpinestar suit Alpinestar jacket Try to look for MotostyleStore in facebook. They sell some ready made and many custom made suit. Have u all heard about this recently quite aggressive Pakistan guy marketing his custom leather suit? yes he's from Pakistan and his company running in facebook is call Stem Custom Wear.its pure replica suit thats why im not taking it into consideration.. prefer original yo nice suit u got there dude.. reason why im going for 2pc suit is mainly because of the hot weather.. at least u get to take off ur jacket off when taking a break from a ride halfway through rather than ur upper jacket hanging lol.. thanks for the suggestion bro will check that out.. cant access facebook rite now hahaha.. |

QUOTE(monaz @ Aug 6 2012, 01:56 PM) It is individual preference. Choosing a perfect suit is not always easy esp when you are about to pay 3-4k of money yes thats why trying on a suit by urself is very crucial!!! too bad my place here dont hv any descent bike apparel shop.. so sad when i comes to think of it sometimes.. and i didnt get to go back msia so often Normally, it is price vs size vs availability. I checked before cheaper Dainese and even expensive Berik (kangaroo) but at the end I choose the most comfortable with me. i personally dont like Alpinestar designs la Dainese and RS Taichi are my current favorites but but but.... still yet to own either one of them This post has been edited by icecolddamncold: Aug 6 2012, 06:03 PM |

QUOTE(phobian @ Aug 7 2012, 02:37 AM) I own a GMX motion jacket paired with a RSY817 pants for touring/distance rides as my 2pc gear. For 1pc, I have a Spidi Track Wind Pro. those are the exact models im looking at and aiming at! RS Taichi GMX Motion Leather Jacket paired with its combining GMX Motion PantsMy advice: 1. Go leather for maximum safety. Besides acting like a 2nd skin to your precious skin, you would surely look darn good in a suit 2. Fit. Must be skin tight! I am 65kg at 165cm - my GMX is size 48 and Spidi is at 46. After my 1st crash, I tailored my GMX for a skin tight fit on both my sleeves 3. Ventilation - get a suit with proper ventilation to maintain temperature composure. Always wear a baselayer 4. Inner linings - better still if it can be detachable for proper sanitation. Baselayer helps in this area as well 5. Budget - get one which fits your budget I send my leather wear to laundry where they will dry clean the inside and treat the leather with mink oil. Initially I was also contemplating on getting a 2pc Dainese Laguna Seca - but the fit & vents is not exactly to my liking though it look damn good. http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=12926 http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=11492 what's ur personal review on this set bro phobian? 1. yes i indeed planning to go leather for long distance ride.. thus wanna maintain 2 sets of riding gear, now i have my mesh gear on already.. 2. skin tight as in how helmet must be snugly fitted on ur head? lol that will be darn hot riding in our weather!! 3. GMX Motion is perforated leather right? thus ventilation is there and suitable for our hot weather sportbike riding style 4. do u mean inner suit lining? once i get my suit yes i would definitely get an inner suit liner 5. budget is ~RM3k Dainese has really god damn nice suits.. but i realized most of them are not perforated like what the RS Taichi has to offer. Dainese does offer breathable materials, as u said the vents might not work as well as perforated leather.. Laguna Seca suit a bit out of my budget thus aiming for the Avro Div 2-pc if i would have to choose a Dainese |

QUOTE(phobian @ Aug 7 2012, 05:17 PM) 2. Yes - super snugly fit. For flex zones, like the waist, knees, elbows and shoulders just make sure they have flex haha guess i will lay my hands on the Taichi.. or the Dainese only 3. Yes, it is perforated. Comes with a windproof liner - i dont use it unless weather is gloomy or I just dont feel like having a windblast 4. Yes, inner suit. 5. Budget 3K u can get both the GMX jacket and pants. Good for long rides and can take it down to the track as well. My personal review for my GMX setup is pretty good. Since I had a mild crash with it (on the right side shoulder) it held up pretty well. Leather is quite supple and the jacket vents well when you are moving. I ride a naked bike, hence wind blast is a plenty. are bike apparels in HK a lot cheaper than it is in msia? if its cheaper then i might end up buying all my stuffs there.. if not wait till come back msia only buy |

QUOTE(phobian @ Aug 9 2012, 11:41 PM) If you flash lots of Renmimbi, maybe. My last trip there I did not have enough time to shop around, though I source many retail outlets from ibike.com.hk. What I can say is that they have lots of variety from top brands. Hence, I could not comment if it is a lot cheaper - but I would say I got my RX7RR5 for a steal! i will be staying in HK for 2 nites, if needed to extend maybe can extend 1 more nite just to shop for my bike apparels 1) Kowloon, Yick Man Building - Moto mart co 车迷城, mostly retail komine and alpinestars product range 2) Kowloon, Pau Chung Street - 亚林, retails RS Taichi product range 3) Northpoint, HK - Dainese Hong Kong 4) Wong Kok, HK - 嘉利 Shoei and Spidi products let's see my trip there this round will be fruitful or not cant afford to get another Arai anymore, my Shoei which is too tight for me not yet sold haha.. some more just bought another X-lite X802 Carlos Checa helmet |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Aug 10 2012, 11:35 AM) alwasy keep us update about great deals. maybe a few of us will be interested and might ask you to tumpang buy haha definitely.. or u can let me know what sort of things that u'r possibly interested in and i can keep a lookout on those items Added on August 13, 2012, 12:44 pm QUOTE(phobian @ Aug 11 2012, 01:37 AM) Looks good, hope you would cart back a cartload of goodies. Dont forget to flash flash them. oh thanks bro for the heads up.. will bring a balaclava together with me just in case i catch some Arai steal About your Shoei RF1100 - have you tried emailing Shoei customer support if the problem can be rectified by changing the cheek pads or head liner? If you are going to shop for helmet, just be mindful to bring a head liner, balaclava or similar when you try it out. HK folks are pretty cautious when it comes to hygiene. Added on August 11, 2012, 1:37 am First advise - ride as often as you can. ah i never tried to email Shoei.. maybe i should try.. but would like to sell it to fund for other items like my bike suit Added on August 13, 2012, 12:54 pm QUOTE(farique @ Aug 12 2012, 08:31 PM) folks, riding jacket.. to mesh or not to mesh? went for a ride with group of friends yesterday, give me another more solid reason to go leather!! Id be out from home for work around 6:40am KL time, does mesh can give some warm feeling? one of my friend got into an accident, he wore a mesh jacket and leather pants, crashed on another smaller bike with about 90kmh speed.. leather pants no problem.. whereas his upper body around his waist area the flesh was torn apart.. can even see the bones.. his mesh jacket on the shoulder area and back also all torn apart.. u wouldnt know what will happen when u'r on the road.. bikers love this risky hobby thou.. therefore we ought to gear ourselves with maximum protection.. getting leather acts as another layer of skin on top of ur precious skin (advise from bro phobian also).. so no matter what now i definitely will go for leather jackets and pants.. perforated leather would be best as it will provides some ventilation due to our hot weather riding.. just my 2 cents This post has been edited by icecolddamncold: Aug 13 2012, 12:54 PM |

QUOTE(monaz @ Sep 1 2012, 09:09 PM) Like Phobian said, use the money wisely for a great returns and last you long. protection gears are for long term investment.. u wouldnt want to be on cheapo gears when u'r going speed.. we live to ride forever Some item which I paid USD was bought online because cheaper or size availability. Like GP Pro gloves, Alpinestar KL selling around RM1K and no size available. And Cheaper SMX boots when I can combined shipping with other gears bought. Vice versa like my race suit, size is a matter and I can get cheaper in KL. QUOTE(phobian @ Sep 3 2012, 12:43 PM) I learn through the hard way and observe closely what is happening around me. Ask alkt if he would dare to ride without his gears. We have seen many friends whom got into a crash without proper gears and it is just not worth it. If I am lazy to gear up, I will just use the car then. being geared up is the utmost important thing before u even climb up to ur bike.. i too learn through experiences, ever since i picked up biking like a year ago, i had personally seen 2 crashes while riding with a group of frens.. nothing fatal but still required operations..I have a mini closet packed with riding gears and lets not get to how much I have spent. Not about bragging rights, but I have different priorities and viewpoint in life that I would want to mitigate as much risk as possible. My list: 1. Helmets - Arai RX7RR5, Shoei Z6 & KBC Force RR. Clear & smoke/tinted for all 3. 2. Jackets - Fake Dainese Air2Tex, RS Taichi RSJ827 Racer & RS Taichi RSJ825 GMX Motion (crashed tested & still usable). Furygan cordura (unusable due to low speed crash) 3. Gloves - Fake RS Taichi GP WRX (leather), RS Taichi NXT-051 (leather), RS Taichi Velocity (leather & mesh) & Komine mesh glove 4. Boots - Sidi ST & Forma Boulevard 5. Pants - Kushitani mesh, RS Taichi RSY817 leather & riding jeans with hip, knee and kevlar stichings 6. Suit - Spidi Track Wind pro 7. Protectors - RS Taichi TRV033 (chest) & Knox Contour Back protector Not forgetting inner wears, got mix and variation of here and there. I tend to sweat a lot and this helps a lot to regulate body temperature, feel good and risk of smelling like a stench of a sweaty pig. If you folks plan to get similar gears as to what I have, drop me a PM and I would be more than happy to share my personal thoughts and opinions. ![]() Taken last year October just couple of KMs away from Sadao border, on our way to Phuket. ![]() Left at 6.00am (if I recall correctly), reached Phuket at 9.30pm (MY time). 1000KMs and time to hit Tora-Tora. Priceless! very well said bro phobian.. to gear up to mitigate as much risk as possible LOL 1000km in a day?? that's insane.. can be on par with the Iron Butt Association brothers d when i ride about 200+km i feel so uneasy d.. probably because im on a sportsbike eh |
