What I can fit into rear seat compartment...
i) Naza Blade 250R - factory provided toolpack + 1 pack of food in polystyrene packaging
ii) Ninja 250R - can't recall, but the space is smaller than Blade
iii) R1 - factory fitted toolpack only...raincoat maybe fit too if folded

guys, what which type of tyre do u all recommend for street use? or what did u guys use on ur bike? specifically on sports bike biggrin.gif
*
I'm using Michelin Pilot Power 2CT on my R1..superb grip on dry and wet roads, cruising at 160km/h in heavy rain without problem
Ohh and it's good on the track too biggrin.gif

i installed it in April and it's now clocked close to 8,000km...thread is still good but i think not as good as Michelin Pilot Road 2 i used on my Blade last time...clocked close to 15,000km but still looks like new!

guys, how many km intervals for your beloved ride's oil change service?

i'm planning to do every 3,000km since i takes me 4 months just to cover 3,000km. (lots of short distance ride)

oil and filter change cost roughly RM100, which i think i can manage every 4 months.

need your opinions
*
I'm doing at every 3,000km too, since i rode my bike everyday
I've clocked 8,000km in 3 months laugh.gif

u changed the oil filter every 3,000km too?

Yeap every 3,000km..since i rode the bike every single day rain nor shine, i felt it might be good for the engine..
i'm using Silkolene Comp4 Semi Synthetic 10w40...but not very good the engine felt rough and shifting felt rough too
Might wanna try Agip or Motul for next service
I'm using Agip only last time for my Naza Blade and it is smooth...my service intervals was 2,000km biggrin.gif

Ohh my friend wanna sell his bike too,
2006 Honda CBR1000 RR
7,800km mileage, Two Brothers Slip On Exhaust,Puig Double Bubble Windscreen,Frame Slider and both new tyres

guys.. i went to few of the shopping mall... most of the shopping mall here they only hv those hot, dirty and small bike parking lots... not meant for sports bike or super bike... so where do u all normally park ur bike under these sort of circumstances?
*
so far i've only been to Mid Valley and KLCC bike's parking lot

Mid Valley - it's quite tricky to get there as there's no clear signboard directing u to the entrance..it is super hot down there as it shares the same road as loading bays route so expect bad conditioned road there..i don't really like to park there, after couple of times i tried my luck to park at the centre court main entrance and ask permission from the security guards there and they let me park as long i'm not obstructing the road..so new spot for me, and it's free too biggrin.gif

KLCC - easy to find as there's clear signboard showing u where to go, the parking space also is very spacious and there's a lot of superbike in there, Z750, Ninja 250R, Blade 250R, Versys, R1, ZX10, GTR 1400, Harley Davidson and so on..i bet they were owned by Petronas staff..so i felt secure to park there and they provide paid locker to keep your helmets and stuff..so far i'm happy to park my bike there

u want removable saddlebag? maybe u can try this one, "alpinestars" saddle bag, bought it from fellow bikers for RM190..good enuff for me, i still can cruise at 200km/h with full stuff in both bag

it is expandable and came with rain cover..but the quality is so-so only, if u wanna use it for occasional balik kampung then ok lor..i use mine for balik kampung last time..
if you're looking for a better quality, try the Komine saddlebag..around rm700+ i think..

since i'm still using the original rear fender, the bag will hit both rear signal everytime
might change to integrated tail light in the future for convenience

real alpinestars saddle bag wont cost that cheap biggrin.gif & I don't think a* ever have saddle bags in their product line up.

anyway, if the saddle bag is made with cordura material (or kain like), you have to watch the weight of your luggage. I once used viper saddle bag and it torn apart because of too much weight tongue.gif
*
this one china made lor but stamped with alpinestars logo
so far i haven't face any problem with my load, last time balik kampung put clothes in both compartment still ok
i think 5kg on each side is ok

heck last time i even put my 1-piece racing suit inside the saddlebag, really need to fold the suit kaw2 biggrin.gif
however being china made, it is not really durable
the rain cover already koyak a bit at the stitches, i assumed because i strap the cover too tight
and the carrier strap also meretas a bit, but it doesn't affect the saddlebag itself
still can put lotsa stuff in it and cruise 200km/h peacefully
i think worthy purchase since i'm using it occasionally

what bike are u using it?
if your bike using undertail exhaust then the strap will surely hit the exhaust, not sure if there's any long term effect but mine is just fine...only after long journey u'll realize the part of the strap that have contact with the exhaust will turn a bit whitish

R1 exhaust note, I understand. But R6 & ZX6 - this got me thinking. The best sounding ZX6r I have heard is the one with Arrow race tech full system. Again, the note could only be music to my ears beyond 8k RPM. A more rempit sounding supersports 600 bike for me is still the CBR600.

No pun intended, but I may look at it as pizza - but roti prata to you. Same goes the other way.

You can still get personal loan within your limit for 6% interest per annum - this depends on your financing creditability from your bank.

Steve Martin's bike is zx6 or zx10? i think his bike has the best sound, it's on Arrow full system..

you guys know any place that rent out place to store bikes ?? around mid valley to sunway area ??
i cant find any where to keep my bike if i buy it T_T , parents will screw the crap out of me and force me sell it.

but renting a place just for weekend bike quite costly as well haihzzz
calculated if get a new zx6r -10 with 0.58% interest and 7 years loan worth it ??? see mudah.my selling some 58k

but is it still worth getting bike insurance??

but between zx6r and z750 which more practical ??

zx6r - superbike look damn cool / but body always in speeding position( back pain)

z750 - less 2 piston = less cool sound , and performance , but riding position nice / but less attractive haha

for me i also go towards zx6r as well as my friends opinion and gf

z750 / er6n - more like a bad boy urban bike haha feels so so

in bad dilemma .... haih

simpan at my place lor, my house garage can fill 3 more bikes tongue.gif

i was listening to traxx fm (yes, i have shity radio in soviet sarawak, no hiz, mix, era, or whatsoever) about this car show co-hosted by JPJ senior, che mat, and yesterday it was about cheap superbikes with foreign plates

he has a very interesting fact:

even with proper documents and all shit and that, the bike can only be used for max 3 months in a year in malaysia road (anyone can confirm or did i hear wrong?)

and with whasoever documents and connection you have, foerign registered bike cannot be in malaysia longer than 3 months. JPJ has record and they WILL go after you.

and due to insurance issues, only the registered bike owner (meaning someone foreign or someone with foreign PR) can ride the bike at any time
huhuh... put a damper to many who called to ask about cheap super bikes advertised in our local internet websites...
so, lesson learnt: pay corrupt AP holders to import your bike on the cheap.
and oh another thing, every malaysian citizen is granted ONE AP PER LIFETIME, provided he can proof he has worked overseas for at least 9 months. this one very interesting...
*
QUOTE(phobian @ Sep 8 2012, 10:40 AM)
Seeking further clarification to this, did you mean that the chassis number of the Thai's R1 remains the same and not using the totalled R1's chassis number?

Please note that I am not asking about that specific bike advertised but generally what most people would do on cheap big cc bikes.

Having said the above, this is quite a selfish act. Why do I say so is because if in the event of any accident involving such bikes, they have no insurance and may face serving jail time.

Anyway, such things have been happening all the time. Even if the track bikes and cars intended for track use must possess proper customs and rights from necessary parties.
*
It might be, since i've heard few people using this technique to get a cheaper car/bike and usually it was used for cars from Singapore. In fact 1 of my friend did offer me a Malaysian car but was originated from Singapore. Well people will do anything to get what they want sweat.gif shakehead.gif

QUOTE(icecolddamncold @ Sep 8 2012, 11:11 AM)
u know what, im not sure whether to bring back a superbike, or a supercar

to be honest, i fancy superbike more now  at least its still within my affordability range like my dream S1000RR which cost around US$15k here, bring it back to malaysia with 10% import tax (can anyone confirm this figure?) and free AP + shipping let's say US$18k-US$20k ~ RM60k.. still worth comparing to malaysia >RM100k

and if i would bring back a car, it would be the Cadillac Escalade tongue.gif quite rare in msia i suppose... never seen one in malaysia but my place was flooded with escalades.. not a supercar but i like SUVs
*
my friend brings back a Honda CBR1000RR 2006, cost him around RM30k all in to bring it back here from the US
He just sold it last month for RM54k laugh.gif
If u can afford to buy the S1000RR, u should go with it. But prepare to have a higher tax
Last time the agent that handles the shipment said there's 1 Harley (not sure what model, year 2011) still haven't cleared the tax which cost RM26k sweat.gif Getting a few years old bike will entitled u for a cheaper tax, for example the Honda CBR was taxed less than RM10k..

Necessary if you want to full utilize the map for a set of exhaust system. Different header with different mid pipe and end canister?  shakehead.gif

If you buy a full system for a specific bike, normally not much chaos for installation. Normally no mounting bracket modification. As easy as slips on. Only need tools like torque wrench with long extension, spring puller and some other basic tools
*
Bro monaz, u're bike is using LV full system or just slip on?
My bike comes with a Micron Slip On when i bought it, and still on stock Y pipe and headers
Last 2 days 2 of my friends which is on a Z1000SX and a Suzuki K1 750 changed their exhaust, an Akrapovic and Yoshimura slip on respectively

On the Z1000SX the Akra sounds a bit bassy since the stock catalyzer can't be removed because it has been weldedd together with the header
The Suzy however is very loud and had the best exhaust note so far
Now i felt thet my bike sound is not that loud LOL
So i was thinking of installing an Akra Y pipe but maintaining the stock header ( can't afford full syste
)
Do i need to put PC in it? I just wanna improve the sound because i'm not a hardcore rider who push the bike to the limit..anyway i still didnt know what the function of an EXUP servo tongue.gif

Yes you need to re-tune your bike once the catalytic converter has been removed, Y pipe is basically a free flowing exhaust...

You can install the Y pipe and still ride your bike but it will run like crap lol, and lean! for long term it will cause engine damage..

Remove the catalytic converter? hell yeah!  thumbup.gif

So that means i need PC too right? If i remove the cat will the engine check light lit up?

Guys need some advice,
I sent my bike for service this afternoon, and how careless of me because i didn't check the engine oil window right after he finished changing the oil..
I only realize when i got home that he had overfilled the engine oil..now my engine oil window is fully covered with oil and way above the F mark..
I read on the internet that this could cause damage to the engine, if so, how bad it could be?

I'm planning to drain the excess oil after the bike has cooled.. I only rode the bike for about 5km from the shop to my home..hopefully nothing bad will happen..

Monaz, does your bike have some kind of sound from the right side of the engine? Mine have some sound coming from there which makes me feel uncomfortable
Already asked 2 mechanics to hear it but they said it's normal..however i'm still worried and i have no friend using the same model as i am..
Read some thread in r1 forum and most of them had Cam Chain Tensioner issues but i can't be sure about mine..current mileage is 19k km..
