thinking of subscribing 10mbps soon.
but i'll like to know the disadvantages of maxis fiber over unifi.
also, i heard alot of complaints about the thomson router.
has the problem been solved already? thanks.

For RM138 per month, MHF is only RM11 cheaper then Unifi VIP5, My suggestion is you go for Unifi VIP5 for true triple play ie phone, internet and TV. Unifi provides you TV set top box + 8mbps dedicated iptv line + some basic and interactive channels without optional subscription fee.

As for MHF internet user's experience, please read this read from post #1, mostly unfavorable.
I'm MHF 10mbps user and I've compare MHF with my neighbor's Unifi VIP 5Mbps, needless to say Unifi 5Mbps offers more stable and better internet experience.
With the 30+ free TV live channels and 18 interactive applications such as like Youtube and Facebook, my neighbor plan to ditch Astro and save even more.

As for me, I'm still facing the usual MHF erratic performances. Sometimes good but sometimes bad. Pages not loading is still unsolved. But fortunately for me, the shortcomings of MHF is compensated by cheaper RM118 early bird subscription fee and extra free call minutes to Maxis lines.

Well said I totally agree.... If we lower our expectation for MHF, you will be more happier cos you only pay RM118 per month.... we paid peanuts, now we enjoy "monkey browsing experience" aka up/down/up/down

Private Tracker on torrent would yield better result, right ?
Download and Upload @ 1.2MB/s ?

my average DL speed normally around 1.0-1.1 MByte/s, of course if you torrent it depends on seeders as well.... haven't actually reached full 1.25, but it is sufficient i think..

I chose maxis ftth cause of two thing.
1. Cheap. RM118
2. More save compare to streamyx. Cause lighting

For me is ok. Even those my stable connection is around 6mb compare my streamyx 1mb. Still looking for solution and complaint to maxis

although quite some minor complaints to MHF, my wife know nothing about internet connection still saying this MHF is far better than our previous slowmix 1mpb.

480p no hickups.

720p hickups once every 10-15 seconds or so. Didn't bother to try 1080p.

Same here, 720p hiccups on PC with USB WiFi adapter.
But can stream 1080p Olympic channel on TV without buffering at all with LAN connection to Thomson using built-in YouTube app in the media player.
Strangely, iPad can stream Olympic channel smoothly with crystal clear video quality over WiFi connection.

I'm using LAN cable from thomson to my PC. 720 gives some hiccups. Not too terrible but often enough to be annoying.

Grr...

Any one experience connectivity issue to Facebook?
I am not sure is it my PC or is it Maxis FTTH. Constantly lost connectivity and Thomson test to DNS fail randomly. Local site no issue but overseas site (Facebook, Apple) are taking super long time to load and didn't stop.

Same issue here. Was wondering why my PS3 wouldn't connect to the PS Store.
