I agree with the audio quality as one of the best coming from a smartphone. There's a lot to like about the Nokia 808 on the camera functions and I do wish it can allow even more control as well as able to produce RAW file (perhaps someday in the future next generation model).  nod.gif

Here again is one of the night shot taken with the amazing Nokia 808.

hmm, so hows the battery life usage? can last more then/almost 1 day with data on or not? coz my x8 and mi300 can do it smile.gif

it certainly can last more than 1 day for my usage with data on. compared to my galaxy nexus, the battery life of 808 is way better. but bear in mind, my usage doesn't involve turn on the screen for a long time. in my Gnex, the main battery drainer is the screen itself.

Sifus, if taking indoor photos without flash, what ISO is normally used? Lighting is ok, flash is not allowed as its sports tournament - will distract and disturb the players eyesight.

i'm not an expert but you can set ISO 400 and above and play around based on the lighting condition. if the result is blurry then increase the ISO and set the the focus mode to hyperfocal.

last time i shot fireworks using sport mode only, just hold the shutter button and you may get some decent results out of all images taken.

The controls are really limited. I tried increase the ISO, but seems unable to get a decent shutter speed for movement. Too bad we can't control the shutter speed... it'll be nice if there is.

Another options is to use Sports Mode, which in theory should prioritize shutter speed, but the AF will be lock to Hyperfocal.

I want AF, but seems adjusting the ISO manually doesn't really give a decent shutter speed; Need to test more.

Anyway, it will be nice also to have:
1. Manual Focus
2. 1/3 ISO selection

The Close-Up mode, seems need to keep quite a distance away, especially when shooting at full resolution mode; kind of defeat the purpose of Close Up in this case.

Same here. Battery can last more than a day. But I use a battery saver app which switches to power saving mode after the phone stays idle for 30 minutes - you can set the time.
I use Whatsapp (always on), push email every hour, Nokia Social updates, etc. I think quite good.

Yes , i think you should ask for it. I got mine from a Nokia store, so the same should apply all across.

Need to be quite a distance (should be around 15cm, not sure, not good with estimation), especially if you're using full res or no zoom.
Try zoom in maximum, I notice it can get focus lock easier; since you're zoomed-in, it kind of make up for the longer distance.

I think in 38 and 36MP mode, you couldn't zoom anymore because there is no extra pixel counts to perform lossless zoom at all D:

if i'm not mistaken, Damian Dinning mentioned this previously, and also, we can't use front facing camera in the camera apps,my guess is.. the FFC unable to support the comprehensive camera settings of pureview (especially 38/36MP mode)

zooming only available under PureView mode
no zoom for full resolution as 808 already abandoned the use of interpolation style of digital zoom
what 808 do for zoom is actually cropping out portion from the original full resolution(max zoom)
nokia name this as "lossless zoom"
