So I took the phone to Nokia Centre to install new and now everything is smooth. I hope it stays that way.

I experienced this before. I think it was because of third party apps or memory card or something that you installed in memory card. I used my previous memory card which I had many apps installed and then transferred to my 808. My 808 experienced hang ups.

Removing the Nokia Social widget from the home screen somehow eliminate the problem. At least for now. Perhaps, it keeps updating and when there is no connection the phone restart.

Quite far to go there. Will check the Mines today. Anyways, last Friday I went to Berjaya Times Square, one of the shops there said the screen protector will be available today (Sunday). They said, they can modify existing screen protectors to fit the 808. The shop owner was very impressed with the 808 camera because it got Xenon flash and LED vidoe light.

I think I found a bug in 808 mobile data 3g connection which caused the phone to turn off when you are in a weak or zero signal. Especially when you use always on Whatsapp or Nokia Social app. Anyone experience similar problem?
To illustrate my point, just turn off your mobile data connection and see, no restart. Added on June 17, 2012, 4:51 pmFor now, I am using GSM mode only. Not dual mode (GSM/3G) and seems like I am not experiencing restart problem anymore. Hope this is a temporary fix. Someone at Pureviewclub mentioned that he got a firmware update from Version 112.020.309 to 112.020.310. This post has been edited by zack9999: Jun 17 2012, 05:28 PM |

QUOTE(faizalmzain @ Jun 17 2012, 07:23 PM) I have changed my connection to 2G (GSM) and so far it is good. I think the 3G connection is not stable and has bug especially in weak/zero signal.Good that yours is OK. Have you found any good casing? Mine ada calar2 sikit.. Very tiny. |

Nokia Malaysia is pushing the Lumia line. This week they have a promotion at Low Yat. You buy Lumia 900 and get Monster purity headset. So tempting to get one. No promotion for 808.
Anyways, I heard Nokia will launch 808 today in the US. This is great news. |

Personally I am interested in NFC headset than a normal one. Is the Monster Purity an NFC set?
Lumia 900 is not NFC and lacks removable battery and SD card. So I am not really interested. Plus I heard that Windows phone does not support feature like *#100# dialing etc. This is important for some like prepaid users. |

Saving my money for Microsoft Surface, looks good. Pair with 808 would be even greater:)
I hope it is not restrictive like iPad. http://www.lowyat.net/v2/index.php?option=...d=6938&Itemid=2 ![]() This post has been edited by zack9999: Jun 19 2012, 11:30 AM |

Just got a call from Nokia. Free gift - the tripod mount - is ready to be collected from the Nokia store you purchased the 808.

QUOTE(faizalmzain @ Jun 20 2012, 02:42 PM) it certainly can last more than 1 day for my usage with data on. compared to my galaxy nexus, the battery life of 808 is way better. but bear in mind, my usage doesn't involve turn on the screen for a long time. in my Gnex, the main battery drainer is the screen itself. Same here. Battery can last more than a day. But I use a battery saver app which switches to power saving mode after the phone stays idle for 30 minutes - you can set the time.I use Whatsapp (always on), push email every hour, Nokia Social updates, etc. I think quite good. I am so happy that my phone is not going black screen again and that I don't have to pull out my batteries. I just disable the high speed packet access and now I can surf using 3G. Just not 3.5G. I am using Celcom and wondering whether it is a Celcom problem. About to find out soon as I already request to transfer my number to U Mobile.

Data counter is built in the Symbian Belle itself. No need to download. You can even set it to remind you if you reach the limit.
QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 9 2012, 02:26 PM) after awhile already get bored with so many apps...all do same shit diff names... only a few i still use like Solo, Goggles, tunein radio, maxismovies... but as long can use standard ones like opera mini, whatsapp etc then ok already. btw, does symbian have a data counter like 3G watchdog? if i dont get 808, then its going to be a X100...i think |
