jackmin, the best combo is the get this phone for basic call, messages & emails, phone/videos.. And an android/ipad for apps. Phone is just too small for apps.

Just my 2 cents.

Its not worth getting two phones.

Nokia is great for video/photo taking, and don't forget that its also quite good as MP3 player ! It has one of the first Dolby Digital Plus certified audio output for handphone actually, but hardly anyone talked about it. Oh ya, it is also a phone ! Emails, all the window office file reading and editing (but hey its too small the screen size, so get an tablet for that).

Then get a used tablet for less than 1K. Apps probably means for just game, pps, etc... bigger screen is always better for those stuff.

i carry my ipad and my phone. so many people have S2 and iphone so i played them from time to time and i must say i'm not at all impressed and feel the urge need to use of the apps. as mentioned by peter above phone is too small for apps. heck, even browsing internet also too small.

Nokia Map lacks localized Point Of Interests like malsing. If I remember malsing uses free service of the community.
What I usually do, if Nokia Map does not find a place, is to check the destination I want to go with google map and then mark the place on Nokia Map.

Also, soon we will have another competition from Apple. Apple going to ditch Google Map on iOS in favour of their own mapping solution. But I don't think anyone can fight the king of search ie Google.

Added on July 25, 2012, 6:54 pmAbout playing HD movies. I have tried the 808 DLNA which you can stream contents to any DLNA-enabled TVs and other devices. It is a very nice feature where I can show pictures taken with Pureview, play music and videos. But I notice when playing videos that I recorded, there is shuttering. But when playing music videos I downloaded from YouTube, they work fine. Anyone know is this because of bit rate of the videos I recorded?

Just use garmin mobile XT lor , I use it at my 808 and it run much better than my old N8, everthing much faster and no bug at all like on Anna N8

whatsapp works on 808, but it needs a sim card.
compared to android which doesnt need sim card to use, but u of cos still need a sim card just to verify your account then can take it out etc.

so right now, my S2 is being used more for multimedia / internet stuff.
it opens pages faster, it plays videos better, it browses PDF files way way way better.

808 for camera / mp3.

Like that ka?

I think you may need to stick to iphone4 and get a Panasonic LX7 instead. Maybe its better.

For utility apps, iphone has wide choice of variety. eg. when u r lost at sunway pyramid, u can quickly download sunway apps for iphone and search for the shop. Nokia will be hard to have this type of flexibility.

Symbian support 3G video calls... unlike other OS, which have to come up with some sort of app.

1.) Skype used to support video calling but since it was acquired by Microsoft, only support voice. But you still have front facing camera for the old fashion video call. May be can try Fring. It supports video call, I think, but the app itself has not been updated to support 808 yet.
2.) yes.
3.) No but few share monitoring app. I use to install one called Blue on my E6 but uninstalled it few months later since you have to pay to continue using.
4.) Not so sure.

Save all the contact memory to your sim, then transfer to nokia. Once in nokia, you may access the contact list, and it can either show contact data from the sim or phone memory, or both. You try to copy and past all sim's contact to your Nokia. So there will be duplicate contact. Now show only contact from your sim only (can be selected), select all, and delete. (effectively delete your sim's contact), then swap the sim to your old iphone and copy again.

For nokia suite (just like the iphone iTune on PC), you can create and select the music folder. Then just copy all your mp3, AAC, flac files to it. I have selected some songs and copy direct into Nokia handphone just by connecting the phone to my pc. They won't care of the file is licenced or not.

actually nokia has the most advanced and complete indoor navigation technology and database at the moment except they are slow like turtle to implement it properly in their phone

I think that Nokia GPS lock in is quite good. Just that the technology to search is not perfected. You have to type the correct name for the destination you want to go.
Here Google has the advantage of leveraging its search technology.

808 uses micro sim. Just put the sim card in 808, copy over the contacts to the phone. Then put it back into your iphone. 808 will read contacts from sim and phone, that is if you intend to use 2nd sim for 808. Carry 2 phones like us here brows.gif
