Latest news, some shop sell the white pureview RM100 higher at 1999. Was that the usual price so far?

Should be RM1899 from Nokia authorize retail store. Can you specify which store which selling higher?

The nokia store at digimall sec 14 PJ. The one at the ground floor. And this time, there is no tripods etc.. neither the phone holder for the tripod.

The portrait is just amazing in terms of clarity. I think indoor low light photography is affected by handshake abeit very minor.

There is one interesting issue perhaps its worth testing:

HTC One X has one unwritten feature. If you use bluetooth ear piece with the HTC, pressing the volume button twice (or whatever button on the bluetooth ear piece) it will actually serve as remote camera trigger !

Can the pureview owner test on this if the same thing works for Pureview as well?

Talk to the boss of that branch you ordered from. He can make some changes.. I did mine. I ordered white pureview for RM1999! !! after talking to the boss, he reduce it to official 1899, even though I placed order and placed deposit with receipt.

He will reissue my receipt too. Its ok, its still a profittable business for them. No harm trying.

No doubt about it. For any photo taking at least a monopod is needed. It would be useful if nokia give a handphone holder for tripod as default.

Just bought a pureview as well.

Anyone knows how to make a time lapse video ?

I noticed that we can only fix up interval photography only in camera mode, not in video mode. Do they need special apps for timelapse video at all?

Thanks for headups.

I got it from the nokia digitalmall sec 14. Booked for more than a week it seems. No freebies here. Not even the camera holder for the tripod.

Added on June 24, 2012, 1:35 amSome photos to share. They were taken with pureview mode, 8Mp options. Mostly set as Auto unless otherwise stated.

Still struggling on decision whether to buy this beast or an entry level dslr first (for photo and video recording)

Parents are getting old, wanna capture every moment of them, don't wanna regret in future..
but am still a student, so I have limited funds, can only korek savings and maybe some part time jobs income in future, can't afford anything beyond 3k Orz

what should I do Orz

If you still haven't got a smart phone (chances are you have at least one already), get this phone ! I used it extensively for a day, recording the event both in photos and videos (30fps in full HD). It is confirmed to be very usable in realife. The videos are all recorded in mp4 format, easily played with media player or media classic home cinema. Audio recording is just very good gotta admit.

One major problem I have for video recording is the wind noise. And you need to use the strap that comes with it for video recording. Handphone is not very ergonomic to be used as a video camcorder. You may drop the phone anytime while trying to get proper shooting angle etc.. Unlike the normal camcorder which it comes with a proper strap to hook around your neck when you shoot something.

With this phone, obviously you cannot have fine focusing by eyeing at the subject. But with face detection technology etc, its actually very much effective to record daily events like in your case. Unless you are into creative photography, otherwise this phone will be your only device you ever need anytime of the day, wherever you are, even during your work, your holiday trips, or on-site shootings. No doubt about that.

Another feedback:

The headphone that comes with it has just an average sound quality. I tried to compare it with my iphone 3GS headphone, but it turns out to be incompatible ! I mean there is a message that comes out informing me that iphone headset is not recognised.

But nokia headset ear pieces fit into my ears better than iphone's. Thats for sure.

I think Bersih 4.0 pureview is suitable as it comes with dedicated trigger button, which you can snap without touching the screen.

During critical moment yours eyes will be filled with tears (emotion or chemical induced !) so do not expect you have time to focus and shoot.

Unfair comparison between 808 & Sony F717 (a nice vintage of 5MP digi camera, featuring Carl Zeiss lens with F2.0). Unedited photo shot.

Added on June 25, 2012, 11:05 pmI also tested the following:

When shooting video, if call comes in, the video shooting WILL BE stopped. The option of answering the calls while taking video at the same time is not existence.

IC. I agree that the first shot can be improve further, but really I bought two cameras there just for comparison. Didn't think of getting a good shots. F717 can be set totally manual to use larger aperture for the effect, but I just left it auto really.

2nd shot wasn't perfect either, I was trying to get the 808 to focus on the eyes. Its not easy when the donkey moves.. I think this is the hard part of 808. I guess face recognition feature cannot recognise donkey's face biggrin.gif

Something to share:

I do admit that the keyboard in this Belle FP1 is one of the worst. Which looks like this:

According to some web report, the leaked incoming FP2 will hopefully correct this error. Here's some of the claimed leaked pics:

and one feature in FP2 that is heavily missed by those who love to take Ninja Shots:

Read about it, will probably try it next time. (Its actually my wife's 808 biggrin.gif, thats why I don't have it playing all day long.)

Added on June 29, 2012, 4:54 pmAbout the headphone, the stock headphone cum handsfree kit has substandard audio quality.

I tried to swap it with my iphone ear piece but it won't be recognised. But when I use a dedicated ear phone (al cheapo) made by Philips, the sound quality was really impressive. To be honest I don't quite appreciate the Dolby surround, I would prefer to turn it off. But to be honest I haven't tried to listen to a movie as yet.

Will try to upload some video some time later.
