Did a step by step for those who are using TP-Link 1043ND v1.8+ and can't get it to work. Hopefully this will help. Worked for me!

1) you need to figure out the Admin login for the Thomson router.

Username : Administrator (*take note it is case sensitive. make sure it is capital A)
Password : <access key> at the back of your router label.

2) Then login using the Administrator account
3) On the Thomson Gateway menu, click Configuration.
4) In the Pick a task list, click Save or Restore Configuration.
5) Under Backup current configuration, click Backup Configuration Now.
6) The Thomson Gateway prompts you to save your backup file.
7) Save your file to a location of your choice.
8) use text editor to open the file.

Does TL-WR740N need to be customised to OpenWRT or DD-WRT to use with Maxis Home Fibre (replacement for Thomson TG784n) ?

Try to use LAN cable to connect to your router instead of Wifi, I got same issue like yours but solved by using Lan cable at the first time. After that wifi is working for me also.

U know the SIP server address? And I guess you need to be in the correct VLAN.

I see in Thomson, there is a DHCP IP range for 192.168.10/0/24 defined for VoIP.

Please correct if I am wrong.
