the 1 stop gain at lens 1 stop taken away from sensor. Why must it be like this.

Cant they just do something greater? Dont follow s100 where you gain digic5 you get a less bright lens.

Well, engineers still cant break the law of physics. there must be a compromise somewhere. it's just getting the best package available.

- Super fast AF system.
- Same dynamic range
- Touch screen ... tonnes of functionality.... electronic spirit level also got.
- Can fit EVF
- Can bracket up to 7 shots
- Also can bounce flash
- Bigger but about the same size as the XZ-1 niah (5mm thicker package niah)

So... the best'est and cheaper than the RX100 making it highest cost/performance ratio, most powderful compact camera now is the....

Where got? GX1 AF is super snappy wan. Can personally attest to that.

And yes.. RX100 looks good considering LX7's dissappointing specs but its still closer to premium compact performance while the GX1 is closer to dslr performance wo.

preview keluar sudah...

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-lx7

with sensor, aperture & aperture equivalent comparison

If the RX100 is not so slow at the tele end then it would've been a winner for me. tongue.gif

the LX7 sample lacks that oomph.

Hmmm.. just came across these in flickr.

Not bad considering they're out of camera jpegs. At least it didn't clip the blacks like most compacts does in long exposure.

NOTE: These are not mine

where ? where? biggrin.gif

Added on July 22, 2012, 3:51 pmI am looking to buy a premium compact and right now the RX100 is top
of the list. Someone did an estimate on the size of the new Canon M
and if he is right it is even smaller than the RX100 and S100.
Anyway we will know tomorrow and hope it will not be too expensive
like the Oly EM5 biggrin.gif

Different category la.. besides its pointless just to compare camera body. The EOS-M will have the same issues that the NEX had but at the same time, have time advantage to correct where NEX went wrong.

Anyone got the RX100 yet?

That would mean today. What sort of invite is that?

A press release was provided on 23rd July but no price was given at the time. Sony has informed that the RX100 will be available in Malaysia from early August 2012.
