Somehow the color is not as vibrant and it’s not as bright due to the smaller sensor than the A6xxx.
I can accept the wide part, just have to walk further. The zoom range is great. The size and weight also means I don’t have shoulder ache after a while days of walking.

Btw I’m just a casual and vacation shooter. I do missed the A6xxx interms of easiness to grab/hold, color, my Zeiss Touit wide. If you think the size and weight, zoom of RX is enough to compensate for the weakness go for it. I travelled to cities several times a year. So if I goto japan I wish I had the RX to capture food photos in tiny restaurant.  But when I’m in Australia I wish I have the bigger and easier to hold camera. Best is to have both base on usage

Me since launch. Kinda a bit disappointing as I come from A6xxx series. Hard to hold. But plus point is size.

Regarding it being hard to hold, you can consider adding the grip.

You need large sensor to get bokeh, RX100 isn't meant for such purpose. The lens is also not particularly stellar in macro. The max magnification is at wide angle, and the distortion is pretty ugly to work with.
If you plan to spend just 3K on camera, this is the better deal compared to APS-C body with kit lens. Otherwise, APS-C will give you much better image quality with nice lens.

How wide is your wide? The widest end is 24mm (= 16mm on APS-C body).

I didn’t drop mine but my MK1 finally stopped working somewhat similarly where there’s a clacking sound when starting up the lens and no picture can be taken (LCD blank).

Decided not to repair (bought in 2012, died in 2023). I ordered another one from eBay. Yes the same MK1 because the rests are still expensive for my unexpected budget.

I recently got myself a Mk2 and the mode dial began changing settings randomly.

So I sent the camera back for a full refund. Oh well, so much for being #TeamSony haha.

Just bought a Mk. 5A, second hand unit, recently. So far image quality is acceptable (coming from a FF A7, that is hard to compare). Actually wanted to buy a RX1, but second hand price in the used market is still friggin' expensive. Wanted to go for the most recent model available, the Mk. 7, but nobody seems to sell it used. So have to settle for the Mk. 5A then. Just wished that the HDR image option can be shot in 1 file instead of creating 2 files (one normal output, one HDR output).
