maybe u can opt to rent a whole house in JB? then drive to SG ? Because like yhoong12 already said...normally there will be a min lease...12months..else most of the landlord/owners will not rent out...unless u get agents to help u look around(agent commission is 1/2 month's rental) for a 12 month lease....so in your case i'm not sure what's the agent commission gonna be like for a short 3-4 months stay

Also for you to work in SG for 2-4months u will still need to get an Employment Pass(EP)...

I suggest you to currently stay put as where u r...then make your move to UK....just skip SG...too short a stint and too much of hassle

Thanks for the input pal. My company in the UK does not seem to know much of the hassle staying in Singapore temporary but they are willing to sort out the Employment Pass and accomodation for 1st 2 weeks etc. .

Skipping SG maybe possible if the EP application process time is long, but i presume it will be much quicker compare to UK permit application.

I am not sure either. He works from 3.30 pm till 5.30 am.

After settling down, I am sure he will find ways to make his life easy.

if he get caught working illegally and the boss denied everything, will him loss everything,included the salary for how many days he work here until now?

its not only that...IRAS will tax u a flat 15% for personal income taxes...since you'll be working in SG for less than 183 days. So probably that amount will be directly deducted from your salary!!

EP application/approval..depends..i think from a week to a month? If rejected then SG is a no go for you after all...

If I do not need to pay tax in the UK, I am happy with the personal income tax in SG. I'll do some research on the tax in the UK.

Not sure how and what type of pass my company is going to apply for me, thus far, I only submit the paperwork required by them.

Hopefully something new turn up from the UK side this month.
