1.You can use this website, (gothere)it is easier to use plus it give you all the information you needed. just put on the search textbox, like woodland checkpoint to 169204, then you will get what you looking for.
2. couple room, that is one of most difficult room to find, but if you willing to paid higher, you can find one. cooking wise you need to find room without owner, but normally they also allow light cooking only, no oily cook, your wife just follow you here and not working? just waiting to go UK with you?but room for rent only 2-4 month quite hard to find. hmm.gif

Thanks for the links notworthy.gif Very useful indeed notworthy.gif

And yes my wife will probably stay with me for the time being, I doubt she can get a temporary job there since we both do not stay for long hmm.gif

If he is caught, he might be blacklisted and barred from working in Singapore, I assume?

My parents follow up with him every day. Now, he sleeps on sofa and has to walk 45 minutes to work every day

After settling down, I am sure he will find ways to make his life easy.

QUOTE(tailtwist @ Sep 10 2012, 09:38 AM)
maybe u can opt to rent a whole house in JB? then drive to SG ? Because like yhoong12 already said...normally there will be a min lease...12months..else most of the landlord/owners will not rent out...unless u get agents to help u look around(agent commission is 1/2 month's rental) for a 12 month lease....so in your case i'm not sure what's the agent commission gonna be like for a short 3-4 months stay

169204 seems to be located here
http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...vel_site_12260/
Also for you to work in SG for 2-4months u will still need to get an Employment Pass(EP)...

I suggest you to currently stay put as where u r...then make your move to UK....just skip SG...too short a stint and too much of hassle
*
Thanks for the input pal. My company in the UK does not seem to know much of the hassle staying in Singapore temporary but they are willing to sort out the Employment Pass and accomodation for 1st 2 weeks etc. .

Skipping SG maybe possible if the EP application process time is long, but i presume it will be much quicker compare to UK permit application.

its not only that...IRAS will tax u a flat 15% for personal income taxes...since you'll be working in SG for less than 183 days. So probably that amount will be directly deducted from your salary!!

IRAS

EP application/approval..depends..i think from a week to a month? If rejected then SG is a no go for you after all...

Fenster84 didn't state his qualification or job position. It's hard to tell if 2200 is ok. But 2200 definitely can survive and save up a bit.

My fixed expense here is about 1500 and i'm definitely not the most frugal person among the lot.

If I do not need to pay tax in the UK, I am happy with the personal income tax in SG. I'll do some research on the tax in the UK.

Not sure how and what type of pass my company is going to apply for me, thus far, I only submit the paperwork required by them.

Hopefully something new turn up from the UK side this month. biggrin.gif
