yes..what i'm saying that..if u do work in SG for >2 months but less than 183 days..u will be tax..at a flat 15% rate!!...and normally what payroll will do is that they will deduct that 15% off from your salary!!

If I do not need to pay tax in the UK, I am happy with the personal income tax in SG. I'll do some research on the tax in the UK.

Not sure how and what type of pass my company is going to apply for me, thus far, I only submit the paperwork required by them.

Hopefully something new turn up from the UK side this month. biggrin.gif

If you're based in Singapore, you're taxed here.
Likewise if you're based in UK, you're getting taxed there- if I am not mistaken the tax rate is 30% and above.

I was just wondering if I could be ended up paying tax to both country UK and SG.

The tax in the UK is based on the salary range, can range from 20% to 50% if not mistaken sweat.gif

dont need to wonder further...SG side for sure will need to..unless u work for less than 60 days as stated on IRAS website.
Like I said..payroll will probably deduct 15% from your monthly salary. And you can only get it back the following year...

UK wise idk...but i'm sure the tax rates are MUCH MUCH higher...easily 20%

I think it only makes sense when the payroll is prepared by the your company in Singapore - taxable in Singapore.
On a different note, like what others suggested, it doesn't worth all the trouble coming for only a couple of months.

Sabahans, Sarawakians below 35 allegedly barred from working in S'pore

think this is because Sabah and Sarawakians if contribute CPF, when they go back they can withdraw the CPF... that's my guess... Malaysians from Peninsula can never withdraw their CPF. The rules govern will be the same as Singaporeans unless you migrate to somewhere and surrender your Malaysian citizenship and never return to Malaysia. Even you surrender your PR still same thing. For me, I can't do a damn thing with CPF. Not married cannot buy HDB flat. Buying private you need to have at least 10% of cash on hand.

Moving to Singapore temporary for the time being is not worth the effort. To those thinking about staying JB and going Singapore daily to work that's provided you working Jurong or Woodlands area. Else be prepare to start from your home at 6am and reach your JB home around 9pm. Money is something but it's not gonna buy you back time.

Renting a room in Singapore easily cost $400 to $700 depending on location. Food easily $10 a day. If you go out to town for movie and dinner, be prepared to spend at least $50. Mobile phone add another maybe $50. Internet another $60 at least.

If they give up their PR, West Malaysians can withdraw all their CPF at 55 years old. All other PR holders can withdraw immediately after giving up their PR.

If you don't give up your PR, you can't withdraw everything regardless of which side of whatever country you're from.

Hi guys,

Recently this company has offered me to join them. They will make a work permit for me, however I need to pay the levy fees on my own because they said that this job has no basic salary, only full-commission.

Anyone experience such case before or if you have any advice, enlighten me

Fresh workers below 35 were barred entry while those within that age group and already working there could not renew their work permits after they expire within two years sweat.gif

Some postings they state common room and no mention of sharing as well. Anyways, I prefer smaller room to sharing, to avoid any roommate issues. I am not expecting aircon.
