QUOTE(DenshaOtoko @ Jun 8 2012, 12:39 AM)
Hi guys,

I am in dilemma is it worth to go to Singapore to work or not. I have been offered a job in Singapore with very attractive salary and had given few days for me to make a decision. In term monetary, the salary is quite enough for me to save. In my current job it is hard to save but I really enjoy its working environment. So I am expecting a tough working environment in Singapore. My major concern is, I am in the middle of thirties and still single...I am really confused if it is smart move or maybe it is too late for an adult like me to work abroad. Would like appreciate your opinions especially from those are aged over 30s. Thanks.
*
i also come around 30+ and some my peers and snr in the industries around late 30 with whole family, no issue
sg if not exactly abroad hahaha.. is just a bridge, unless u come from the east side of malaysia
the main issue is still $$, just make sure that worth it

Students have reportedly been given pre-exam injections and intravenous drips designed to boost energy levels, while girls have resorted to hormone injections and birth control pills to delay menstruation sweat.gif

Anybody working in singapore is under contract of recruitment agency instead the company you working at? Eg: a job agent find your resume and help you to apply the job of their client. but the things is you have to sign at least 1 year contract with the recruitment agency.

Anyone can share if you encounter this similiar scenario. Any difference and disadvantages you guys experience before?
*
mean u be getting pay by the recruitment agency rather the employer u working with is it? hmm.gif
so the agncy take a cut from your salary and pay u the lower amount cool2.gif
my thought, dun take
deal directly with the company u want to work with

of course i know that not all interviews are always successful. but it's a bit different to travel to singapore. no?
plane tickets to singapore cost around RM300+ and we still need to calculate accommodation for one night.
i was just trying to ask whether anyone had that kind of experience whereby you needed to travel to singapore just for one interview. just to know whether this is common.
no harm asking right?
*
is common, and vice versa
remember i need take a bus back to KL for interview, when i stay in SG that time
and the last round coming back to SG also took a bus,
but i arrange interview in afternoon so coming bus just reach on time and left in the evening by bus
but damn tired yawn.gif

^ Yah for people who marry to Singaporean, guess apply to non-Malaysian mostly as most go for PR straight, maybe people from sub continent as their PR is tougher now

There are a lot place to explore once you have a car, but of course depending on your budget. You might not be able to afford it now, perhaps 5 years later. I have been in singapore for past 6 years, only managed to get an OPC car last year as a reward of completing my ACCA. Definitely heavy on the pocket but if you are planning to stay here long term, it is worth the money.
*
wow 6 years in Singapore and already can afford a OPC car , impresive leh rclxms.gif
