Hello people,

I will be working in SG in this Aug. My future employer updated me that i have gotten the in principal approval letter from MOM. May I know what should I do next to get the employment card? I will be doing the medical checkup in Aug.

Btw, what is a 'valid short term visit pass' ? Thanks in advance for sharing.

Come into SG, start work, get your employer to sign your IPA, while working do your medical checkup, once confirmed no HIV or TB, make appointment with EPSC, turn up to EPSC at Riverwalk, give photo and all documents, done!

This is simply your immigration white card (30 day validity) that any visitor gets when entering SG.

Oh I see. So I still need to enter SG with my passport, and at the immigration white card i should write my purpose of visiting as working.

Thanks for your info. Appreciate it =)

Do you have the in-principle letter with you ? you can show that to the immigration officer (SG side) and they sometimes don't even bother processing the white card (happen to a friend of mine). Just fill in everything and leave it to the officer on what he want to do smile.gif

FYI, the white card will be taken away when your documents are processed in EPSC, so when you exit Singapore after getting your employment card, they no longer need to stamp your passport (so you have entry to SG stamp but not out smile.gif )

Good luck in on your adventures in SG

How would he hand over the white card to EPSC if it wasn't given to him at entry? hmm.gif

the Sg immigration officer will write EP# on the entry stamp when exit as your white card has been taken by EPSC. that was what happened to my passport page.

For my friend case the officer just stamp the passport without processing the white card, when he went to ESPC, he didn't gave the white card to ESPC since it was not stamp (still with the 2 part of the white card). Maybe is a one off case ? but that was like a couple of years ago.

For my case when I registered with ESPC for interview and the actual day when I went to ESPC it was a different number on the white card as per registered earlier as I went back within that week before the day I went to ESPC. So the date and number of the white card I registered online is different, luckily managed to get the EP done without any issue smile.gif

Just bring everything in case smile.gif, also your original certs, etc. If your degree, etc is not in English, they will ask you to get those translated.

Company will be the one who help you apply permit. You are unable to apply permit yourself without anyone hiring you. Get the job first, after that company will aid you in getting the permit. smile.gif

By the way, I end up didn't try the scanner in custom as I realize duration letting officer check is somehow similar with scanning process. laugh.gif

And for those who want to know the spending in Singapore. I have a rough calculation, ( based on my current lifestyle ).

Transport ( $4 )
Food ( Breakfast $2 max, Lunch $5, Dinner $5)
Entertainment ( None, of course lo. Reach home already 8pm++ laugh.gif ).

The above i mention is during weekdays. Weekend wise I usually go home in JB. All daily supply I will get from my home. So don't need to spend anything in SG.

Yup. For fresh grad wise is kinda tough. Do you have any professional cert for network like CCNP, CCIE, CCNA?

Being a fresh grad, my advise would be to not choose the company.
Instead, let them choose you...meaning just mass apply to any company.
Gain some experience, then come back with that application.

not entirely true. If you have a good qualifications, could always try the top companies 1st. Stop wasting time with local or small MNC
