I working in IT field which mainly involved in C/C++ programming, and i found that alot programmer job required PHP rather than C. izit nowadays C/C++ is no longer important?

seem like my chance of changing job will decrease alot..sad sia...

php mostly for web rite? c/c++ can do more diff stuff,
so anyway what is the average pay ar for programming. like compare malaysia to singapore

Haha, i guess i have to self learning by then.but just whenever saw a new job in the job market, saw the requirement that preferred with experience in PHP or .NET, really make me wonder if i did the right decision by that time to accept my current job offer back then. but i guess no turning back now..haha

a 'few' injuries ? nothing serious ? There is at least 1 death per month at shipyard industry.

yaya, but when you doing job hunting did you see alot job require C/C++ ?actually i seldom see it ,but PHP damn alot sia...sad.. sad.gif

hmm, there is no specified salary guide line, coz it affected by certain factor:-

Your experience if you work before.
Your grade if you are freshies.
but usually if you follow the thread, you can see alot of them say that malaysia: singapore shud be 0.8:1 ? correct me if i mistaken. whistling.gif

c/c++ mostly people do mobile developement now? though you might need pick up skills for ipong or android
but should be easier for you to learn obj-c or java if you good in c liao

if 0.8 to 1 just extra 20% no point go sing work liao hmm.gif

Any idea how's the working culture like? Long working hour etc? They do give high bonus referring to their past records.

haha, somehow i need to find a way so that i can go for mobile apps...did C/C++ related to mobile dev ? because i heard my fren who do mobile apps saying tat is diff skill for mobile apps rather than C/C++, is tat true? you involve in IT as well?

maybe the way i write is confusing, what i intend to say is normally the figure you getting now is malaysia, if you coming to singapore, you onli get bac 80% of the figure in malaysia, see only figure not the exchange rate.

i noob in programming nia, but that's what i heard/see la. programming the logic is similar ma, just the different syntax and maybe here and there little different way to do things.

I notice alot of people here posting about jobs regarding IT here,
Anyone here working with Marketing? im a marketing Grad and its what im good at speaking to people and trying to help them.

What kind of jobs or would there be jobs in the marketing/ advertising line in SG are they as readily available as other jobs?

Better check with the banks on their min balance and charges. DBS changed to $1000 early this year for min balance when opening new account (old account still maintain $500), $2 every month if min balance not met.

ya, but other than that other expenses are quite low if you do not spent on entertainment. so the most you could spent 1 mth is 1.5k sg dollar perhaps?

Are a lot of you guys from KL, and living in your parent's house before coming to SG?

I notice most of you say that rental in SG is expensive. It's expensive in KL also.

I rent a HDB for the same rental I paid for a terrace house in PJ. In that sense, I don't see any change in rental expense at all.

Therefore many of us don't pay rent in KL
