Bro david's wiring suggestion (if it works...me dunno...) appears 2b so ie daytime ON when ignition is ON but dims when car lights are ON.

May I suggest juz use 2 wires...RED & BLK only?
Connect the Red to car lights source eg H/Lamp fuse in Eng compartment and Blk to car body.
So whenever yu switch on the car lights, the meter wld light up too.
Good enuf, right?

Your decision...

good suggestion... the meter is smoked... so even on daytime is quite hard to see... maybe i`ll just tap the grounding wire to a switch then from switch to real grounding... then when i want to on the meter i just turn on the switch... but that will be quite potong steam... lols !

dunno about the grounding cable la... that is just what i felt...

for the vacuum gauge, if according to your wire taping... the meter will have to light up 24/7 and just change the colour if i activate the front light... so cannot be right ?

RED- ignition/ACC
Black-chassis/ground
Orange-head lamp

Relay as RED current come in after ACC, then brightlight. When switch on headlamp, ORANGE current come in to trigger relay to dimmer the lights.

hello there guys. morning to you. i have a question. what is exactly the 2nd blinking of the fuel meter. is it the whole bar blinking?
*
1st blink, warning low fuel.. after short distance the small bar will not blink, means u r using emergency tank.. whn 2nd blink means ur emergency tank also wana habish...

Emergency tank? I tot it was due to the not-so-accurate fuel sensor/float?

I always pump fuel when the bar blinks.. Have to change this bad habit..

There is no separate tank in our car, the meter is just set that after the float lower than certain level (when fuel tank left around 10L), the light will come out, easy logic, no robust architecture here.

Those 'blink' and 'unblink' situation is due to what poweredbydiscuz described 'not-so-accurate' fuel sensor/float. My car can blink-unblink for 4-5 times at that situation. Normally when the warning is out and stay no matter u accelarate, up hill/down hill, then it means the fuel inside really nearly empty adi.

don't worry, my friend. you can still let your meter blink. just make sure u are available at the nearest petrol station lor. if u scared, left 1 bar, go fill up already. but, to be safer, just fill up when left 1 bar, cause u never know, meter blinking, and then u stuck in jam.. cannot imagine one.

That wld b a very good & wise move, Bro! thumbup.gif
No stress...no worries... rclxms.gif

Moreover, as has been brought up b4 in forum, low fuel in tank might give rise to malfunction/premature failure of electrical fuel pump.
No harm/loss in filling up earlier, true?

In reality more 2gain...tongue.gif
Ok, Bros?

ps. Me fill up (if possible) when 2 bars left.

i dont like our Saga keys, the buttons too convex above the casing surface, easy to mispress

Should have a plastic part that prevents accidental presses

Yup, Bro...fully confirm that "nuisance"!
Happened 2me on & off.

Hv considered making 1 like bottom pic. Then remove batt3 fr ori cos gotta use ori key punya immo chip.
However, hving 2carry xtra remote unit in my key ring deterred me somehow....

So me decided 2live with it. smile.gif

Added on May 28, 2012, 4:21 pmps. If key w/o immo chip, then Bro coolkwc's suggestion is a good idea! thumbup.gif
