Before Kenny was fired, I asked you a question about who Liverpool needs to compete in the top 4 next season and you replied that you didn't want to talk about that as we had staff in charge at LFC.

Now that we don't have staff and many of us are hoping that you will be the new boss; can I ask you that question again?

Who do you think Liverpool need to bring in to compete in the league? Or do you think we just need a different mentality?

If you look all the way to the top I guess H&G is responsible for the Barry/Alonso saga for not providing Rafa with sufficient funds. To be fair, since H&G took over Rafa hasn't really been provided with decent funds apart from the signings of Torres, Mascherano and Keane but he was sold back almost immediately to Spurs. We were lacking depth in so many departments, we have no proven striker apart from Torres, Kuyt was played as a winger, N'gog isn't good enough to lead the line for Liverpool. But in all honesty, I feel he could have chose some other players to be offloaded rather than Alonso.

Personally I agree with Rafa's statement. Offense win games but Defense win titles. Yes you have to score to win but more often than not you will end up losing points due to poor defenses (look at Arsenal) hence balance is important. He said wingers are important, yes if you view them as the source of creativity in the final 3rd but look at the wingers we had Kuyt (hardworking but not creative), Riera (only decent), Babel (wants a more central role), Benayoun (lacks pace, more of a free role player). Maybe not Rafa's fault as I remember reading an article where he stated he wanted to buy some attacking flair players (forgot who) but wasn't provided with the funds.

my choice on order of preference

1) Mourinho (vast experienve)
2) Capello   ( a no nonsense man )
3) AVB   ( youth and dare to try youngster )
4) D Matteo ( master tactician and youth )

abt Rafa, NO Way, he is a spent force, maybe he will be better as a sports writer

I know, but most of the candidates have rejected the offer so we only have Martinez, AVB and Rafa.

i think only martinez and avb is in the list..FSG doesnt want rafa because he know that rafa will have fans backing and if they sack rafa then everyone will hate FSG. Martinez now seems to have villa in his mind, so now left AVB, thats why he is telling the world he is not rushing because he knew he is the only one who is suitable because everyone else rejected liverpool

But Rafa should not have sold Alonso, we went downhill after selling the Maestro.

I do want AVB to get the job. I like him when he was in Porto and had hoped he would manage Liverpool. But he went to Chelsea instead plus King Kenny got the job.

AVB produced produced a treble in one season.

if you look at the list of managers that have been confirmed approached,

Matinez (unconfirmed)
Rodgers (rejected FSG)
AVB (approached)
De Boer (rejected FSG)

their play styles are about the same, which favours tactics fluidity and high tempo. They are also Spanish / Barca related, with exception of AVB being an Iberian.

Hence this person said that our DoF is highly possible, could be Txiki (Barca's own DoF) but hasn't been revealed yet.
