this friend of mine bought a asus zenfone 4 for his mother-in-law.
well, god bless, the phone drop into water so he sent for warranty claim or whatever.

so that fateful day, he applied half day leave and wait patiently at the service counter.
then he saw a customer...

"you guy ask me to wait and he will be here at 2pm... already long wait... blah.. blah..."

so the person there made a call and to my friend surprise...

"the technician gone home already lo..... no come back...."
"what?????? there how this laptop???? who going to format this????"
"why not like dis... you format yourself lo...."
"i format myself???? can meh???? then why am i here???? no problem if i do myself meh????"
"do know lo... i think can la....."

well, this sound like good joke to him.... so his turn after the upset customer pack his stuff and leave....

"mister ah... as i say earlier... your phone drop into water... no cover warranty.... then you ask to quote for repair la.... na...."

to the shock of my friend life.... shocking.gif

RM 519

to repair a zenfone 4 which cost RM 299 for new malaysia set.....
after hearing this story...
i change my mind on the G750 and started to look at lenovo instead. doh.gif

Yes, please share more true life stories so that consumers won't get conned by this stupid rubbish brand. thumbup.gif

In the case of water damage and etc, when I'm at Machines Service Centre at The Gardens, CS there will honestly advice you to buy a new one instead of repairing the kaput unit.

But for Asus CS, they very cincai one.. Do things so unprofessionally like we bought the gadgets from pasar malam like that.. shakehead.gif

For my RMA case pulak, bought the S400CA with RM2099, but the CS from Asus think I am "water fish" and advice me to get a replacement of another cheaper model (worth RM1500++) when my 2nd S400CA unit fails me again. yawn.gif Don't they know we can sue them for cheating customer's money on this? hmm.gif nod.gif

Guys, would need some suggestion here..

After back and forth for nearly 11 months for Asus's problematic S400CA, the Customer Care Specialist have finally given me an answer to exchange another laptop from other series for me but I'm having doubts about the option he's giving.

What he is offering to me: X550LC-X0091H - current value at RM1899
What I have currently: S400CA-CA130H - what I paid for back in July 2013: RM2299

What I don't like about his offer:
Huge weight difference: 1.8kg to 2.3kg
No touch screen
No hybrid SSD+mSATA
Cheaper value laptop compared to how much I've paid for before

Should I take the offer? Or reject him and ask for another upgraded version for example 450LD-WX105H considering how much of my time, effort and money wasted in this 11 months.  sweat.gif

I got the exactly same case as urs. My laptop S400CA has broken-down 5 times in total within 10 months. They do not willing to give me a replacement unit until i complaint to tribunal and NCCC. Horrible experience with ASUS.now still waiting for their reply whether I can get replacement unit.

What exactly happen that your laptop have broken down? Mine was the touchscreen had a 'water mark" in the middle of the panel, caused by the front and middle glass touching with each other. Don't affect much on the laptop but it's very very annoying.

Yes, reporting to tribunal / NCCC will make Asus's balls shrink a bit, hence they will deal with you in a more manner way. Job well done, but please be aware that if they offer you with another laptop, do research properly first before accepting it. If not they'll gonna treat you as water fish, giving you a lower market value laptop to cover your problematic one.

Have you spoken to any of the customer support specialist on the phone / email yet?

IMO, nope. Unless they bankrupt and their whole management in Malaysia change inside out.

mine got water mark at the first time, after that cannot boot into window for 4 times. On the 4th repair, they have broken-down my battery and touch screen. I was really frustrated with ASUS.
I am dealing with Alvin and Karen, how about you? They seems like not willing to give me replacement before I complaint to Tribunal.
Now they offered me A450LD with Intel Core i5 which is rm1999 normal market price before rebate. I have requested got A450LD with Intel Core i7 and they said need approval from management.

I was dealing with Stefanie at first, then she quit and took over by Alvin. I believe your complaints are more on the service centre right?

After finding out my problem, what I did was go straight and report to NCCC after I made a complaint to Asus while waiting for Asus side because I knew they will drag until god knows when. Then as expected, they copy pasted those official reply "please send in your device for us to diagnose....." those kind and it pisses me.

NCCC then contacted me and ask me to send in to service centre and blah blah blah. But I somehow managed to google the Asustek main office tel no. and called them to follow up personally with the person in charge. laugh.gif After that, all other back and forth problems all contacted via email, in order for me to keep proof of conversation and etc.

In my case, they tried to "con" me with a much much cheaper priced and older model laptop, that's why I get to request. nod.gif It's a very long and tiring process to be honest.. I was back and forth to lowyat plaza many times just to get this sorted out.

So any updates on your case now? rolleyes.gif

this is my 2nd Asus laptop problem. The 1st Asus laptop have Ethernet hardware problem and i get it replaced at the computer shop. Now, I have charging problem. I tried to call Asus Low Yat service centre to check on the opening hour but no one pick up. I checked on google that the opening hour is until 9pm. I reached at 8.05 PM and the service girl keep telling me it's close and she ask me to come again. I was like speechless and the other guy kind enough to let me in to send the laptop for warranty. After like sitting in the service centre for about 3 minutes, the girl told me that "we already close" than I answer her it wont take long for me to send my laptop in and guess what she answer? She answer that "I wanted to go back". Is it that hard to serve 1 more last customer that takes her about 2 minutes. She seems very unhappy about it. I would never support Asus product anymore. Look at Dell service, It's superb.

Yes. Learn your lesson and go for other brands instead. Because of the shitty experience I had before, I am 10000000% anti-Asus already. No matter how good is their product on paper looks like. vmad.gif
