Erm, if you read my previous post, my case for my Vivobook S400CA is still ongoing. 8 months edi, ding and dong here and there and I'm more fed up then you. My brand new unit still got same shit, but this time more shit on it. The CS whom I contacted at Asustek resigned some more. doh.gif sweat.gif

1 week+ is okay la tbh, if 1 month+ edi u have to chase edi because sometimes they need to ship the parts from Taiwan in order to repair your device.

I think they don't stock up a lot of the spare parts, trying to keep their operation cost as low as possible, that's why they need to get from Taiwan.

Even Dell's after sales service was quite good. My colleague's laptop cannot turn on, within 3 days a person came and check, change a new part for him and voila, as good as new.

seems like asus is still having serious problem.

my previous laptop was over 1 month for warranty due to the parts not available in the service center. the repairman forgot to order rclxub.gif

my current laptop keyboard rosak i ask them they said got stock, can settle in 5 working days.

but i am under 3rd party extended warranty and it is from this evernew, the warranty company is actually by lee chong wei sweat.gif

and when i send to lowyat, all 3 lots of evernew closed. wangsamaju branch don't accept warranty, must sent to digital mall head quarter. doh.gif

god i haven't have time to do that and i can't get a replacement computer to use currently, so i just slap in a usb flexible keyboard and bring it everywhere doh.gif

You know why? Bcs i think they dont have production plant in Malaysia, all of them just send back to Taiwan to replace, shipping already take at least 1 week, then we users wait until bones left. Same thing goes to MSI and Gigabyte, if anything rosak, prepare for 1 month fight.

If they ever format my harddrive I'd demand that I format every single employee's head of hair in the service center.

Sometimes they will not follow customer's requests. I've heard people complaining at the centre that their laptop was formatted by them which they did not requested for it. shocking.gif

Not just Asus, I have come acrossed some cases posted on MSI facebook, regardless of what issue, they also need to ship the parts from or send back to Taiwan or China factory. This is sad to hear but it is true like most of the cases. You notice that in those Asus, MSI and Gigabyte especially warranty section, I never heard warranty extension, upgrade etc before, may be they have, but at least I can assure MSI dont provide. Meanwhile, Lenovo, DELL, Illegear and (Toshiba??) provide warranty upgrade service also. So, that is the difference.

Regarding the complaint part, may be only a small portion especially lowyat forumers but not other customers, other customers who buy without go through lowyat forum are not aware!! Plus, good price and stylish design always attract female customer whom are even not aware of, mostly they just go in, good looking, pay money then that is it.

To be really frank , thats our responsibility to back up our data on our own , you should have know that normally you send it for RMA , your data will be removed , thats a standard SOP .

But customer personally requested them not to format their data, and it's not like the HDD got problem. What make me more angry is that they only format and reinstall window... no driver, no software and that laptop come with original Window. Usually they only do that when the laptop doesn't come with original window. mad.gif

Keep bombarding on their Facebook, Twitter etc, daily, rclxms.gif

Make a short video, posted on Youtube, make an "Asus Sucks 1.0" T-shirt.

Call for gathering and demonstration until Asus is out of Malaysia, haha.

You are wrong my friend.

When you send in for RMA, the CS will ask whether to reformat or not. If the customer say NO, then they will write on the RMA receipt a "No Reformat Needed". But somehow the smart technicians still being too smart to format it anyway. doh.gif

My experience with Dell is that they always come the next day at the latest and sometime if you call early in the morning, they even come on the same day. NEVER was any 3-days response.
