is asus really that bad? my sis-in-law just send her laptop for repair, they change a new harddisc for her (actually she drop her laptop)

if got supply can be fast, cuz they can just fit in.

if other part like mb, gpu etc if no stock have to import from taiwan then wait long long.

got one time the hinge broken, they say import 2 weeks can fix, after one week i call to check status, the tech told me haven't order shocking.gif, wait wait, almost 3-4 weeks baru can get back sweat.gif

for the chip part if send sc ard 700, i go other shop since warranty end, 400. in the end if they just get the same parts for repair, the profit different so much oh.

Honestly sometimes, when you really go down to it, it speaks also for the quality of staff that they use. Whatever training or degree that a person have, doesn't mean he or she will have the slightest idea of what is wrong with a notebook if there was no training given or if the person himself is not a pc enthusiast.

That is why sometimes you have people changing whole motherboard when the real problem is the wifi drivers. Or when you give specific instruction or fault, and the only thing they blame is the memory module, while the error still exist. When we try and point out the issues or flat out say that they were wrong, face turns black like storm. But sometimes that is what happens. Change RAM. Change Hard Disk. Change Motherboard. Because no proper diagnostics was made. Or, more likely. because the service technician didn't even check.

Hello,

Just to update my case. They replace me with a replacement unit as promised in two (2) weeks time once I write an email to the main HQ in TW. You really need to call them and screw them nicely only they'll do their work. However, they no longer produce the model I purchased, they replace me with another model of netbook with higher specs which is good biggrin.gif...

So, be patient and keep follow up with them and keep calling them everyday until you get the answer you want. I did that since March 2012. Till July only I get my replacement. So good luck smile.gif

This isn't ASUS problem, it's stupid service center problems with their incompetent staff. Just one look at them you know they don't know much, or anything at all about computers, they just want to work to gain money.

I did have this problem before, replaced motherboard laptop because of bad BIOS flash (but I just say it won't boot), it did replace it but then again they, I assume, 'forgot' to tighten a couple of measly screw holding the GPU down causing it to roast over 100C in about 3 minutes in game. Rather than bringing it back to those monkeys I disassemble and retighten the screw myself. I'm using Acer now, zero problem whatsoever.

I wouldn't buy Dell too, although services are nice and fast, but there are far too many problems for me to buy one, one particular guy keeps asking me about his laptop gets about 3 times roasted harddrive, while the other roasted motherboards.

Hello,

I wanna ask, izit we need to pay RM100 when we pick up the laptop after the warranty service?

Coz i just saw the terms and conditions here written "An inspection fee RM100.00 is still payable by the customer." on the asus royal club service form.

I sent my laptop for service coz i suspect my hdd in my laptop have problem.

I forget to ask the service person there just now when i send my laptop to there ><

I don't think you need to pay if your laptop is still under warranty (2 years in general for Asus laptops) nod.gif

Standard SOP. Minimum 1 month if you're lucky. Good luck....

If it's software problem, you should have just fix it yourself or find some friends who can do it....
