Its virtually the same for most brands, just that there are more Asus users here  tongue.gif

Dell was by far the best warranty support but less attractive design for low priced model. So it is not the same I think. icon_rolleyes.gif

yes, dell do provide a better service after sale compare to 's***' service provided by asus but asus did prove that the laptop is quite solid build but it depend on luck also some ppl wil not face even single faulty but some might face just after they purchased the laptop... so all depend on luck><
just like everyone complain on acer but my gf use acer for almost 5 years never chg a laptop and do kicking well just the cover not well taken care but only scratches, the rest just re-paste heat sink then everything working fine... so for me i would said it depend on personal luck tongue.gif

Agree with you. Luck also play its role, my 1st up until 3rd notebook was Acer with no problem at all.
But when your luck runs out, I guess good warranty support can somehow 'restore' your luck. icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh no. I'm planning to get a n56 before going to the UK considering that it has an extensive 2 year global warranty but I've been following this thread and there had been so many complaints here which made me think twice... Has anyone experience such bad customer service in the UK or elsewhere other than in Malaysia??

Their laptop is alright (N56 have some problems so check before buying).
If laptop spoil/malfunction, don't send warranty then solved smile.gif

Same as in any laptop from whichever manufacturers will have the tendency to spoil as it's most of the time dependent on luck laugh.gif
Which is when warranty supports come into play nod.gif

luck determine the quality of the hardware ...

good luck ----> warranty doesn't play their role
bad luck ----> this is when you need the warranty the most icon_rolleyes.gif

Hello,

Just to update my case. They replace me with a replacement unit as promised in two (2) weeks time once I write an email to the main HQ in TW. You really need to call them and screw them nicely only they'll do their work. However, they no longer produce the model I purchased, they replace me with another model of netbook with higher specs which is good biggrin.gif...

So, be patient and keep follow up with them and keep calling them everyday until you get the answer you want. I did that since March 2012. Till July only I get my replacement. So good luck smile.gif

woooww...i really wish i had found this thread before buying the UX32VD....but too late now..

the same day i got the new ultrabook, i found there's something wrong with 1 of the key on the keyboard...its loose and wont bounce back up after pressing it down...the next day, i sent it to Asus SC in lowyat...

the guy who took my case told me it should take 2-3 days to fix it...i said ok and left the day old machine with them...

4 days later, no call from Asus, so i called up the hotline...then they told me there's no stock for replacement and need to order from Taiwan and will take 2-3 weeks...i wasn't happy but there's nothing much i can do...i asked them if i can get back the unit first while waiting for the replacement to come from Taiwan and their reply? "you can but we cant guarantee you priority in case there's another case needs replacement"

meaning while i'm having the machine back, if another use send his/her machine in for same problem, Asus will attend to his/her problem first even though i came 2-3 weeks ago...i was like WTF!!!

the second thing, they say if during the time i took back the machine and i cause more damage to the 'damaged' key they will not be responsible and i cant claim under warranty anymore!

anyhows, after alot of hesitation, i decided to let them hang on to the machine until the replacement part come & they fix it...so i patiently waited almost 3 weeks....

when i don't get any call from them, i decided to check with their CS on the phone...to my horror...they say there's no parts coming in, and my case has been marked as 'CN' or Credit Note...meaning they will either replace a new machine for me or refund me the money...the CS guy actually asked me why no one from Asus call to get my details!!!

so that's 4 weeks waiting for nothing!!! so then i took a snapshot of the purchase receipt and email to them (as requested) for process..i asked them so which its gonna be, 1-to-1 replacement or refund and he said he have no idea....

after i email the receipt they process it and ask me to check back after 2-3 days for status...i call again after 2 days and they confirm receive my email and is now undergoing CN process (still dunno if i'm getting a replacement or refund) and the waiting period? another 1 month (normally)...i made a lot of fuss and was scolding the CS on the phone...and he promise to put in an urgent request...urgent meaning 3 weeks doh.gif

i really dun understand why it takes so long to get me a replacement unit...if there's no new stock in whole of Malaysia, they can easily order from Taiwan or rest of the world...even delivery from Antarctica wont take this long...

anyways...its been almost 3 weeks since they told me its been process....given the fact this week was Raya week...i will give them another week before checking my status...

originally thought to be damn sad cos 1 day 'new' machine and its been sitting in the service centre for 6 weeks and yet need to wait another 3+ weeks...but after reading the thread here, it seems i'm considered lucky if i can get back anything from Asus in 2 months.

i've been using Toshiba notebooks for close to 10 years...am really happy with build quality of Toshiba cos i only remember visiting their service center 2 or 3 times...and was extremely happy with their customer service...i bought the Asus ultrabook cos i couldn't wait for the new Toshiba Z930...but now......the Z930 is out and i'm still using my old notebook...

before reading this thread, i still hope that Asus will replace the notebook for me and not refund me cos i'm after the machine, not money...but now...all hope is lost...i now wish they will refund me money so i can buy different brand of notebook....and stay the hell away from Asus..

if i'm still getting crap reply from them by end of next week, i will officially write to Asus HQ in Taiwan and send them a link to this thread...and another there is....i might even write to complain to gomen (whichever ministry department relevant)

added: maybe some of u guys would like to fill up this survey form from >>ASUS<<

Bad warranty doesn't mean their product quality is bad tho.
Although they really screwed up the N56 somehow by abit.

did they told u if refund, they will make full refund or their so called distributor price refund only? my case took me almost 1 yrs then only refund me after i almost went to file a report in tribunal.. then they said refund me but few weeks later said is not full refund...and almost rm300 less.. they asked me go talk to the seller myself to get the rm300...i screwed them up and met their regional manager and even prepared my letter to them...then they give me full refund..seems like u r still repeating the process of mine.. shocking.gif i can see they never even improve... sweat.gif shakehead.gif

Sorry to hear of your problem bro sad.gif
But usually you get to exchange 1-to-1 for laptops that spoil within 7-10days right? hmm.gif
Certain sellers are pretty irresponsible and will ask you to send back to service centre instead... sweat.gif

As far as I know, only Acer provides 7 days 1to1 exchange.

Those who are claiming warranty through their free pick up service are treated worse, it takes them 2weeks+ to come to your place. doh.gif
