Look at me, I own 2 asus machines and 2 of them sent in for warranty.

Their pick up and return service said latest is 4 days?
Guess what, one of my machine completed on last wednesday, now still at lowyat.
Totally disappointed with their after sales service, cancel courier request already

Luck of the draw. If you don't have the confidence in your machine, then by all means get another brand. biggrin.gif

But it's just the local after sales service that's crippling an otherwise decent brand.

i personally think that Asus has some great laptop specs, their design is quite nice too, and competitive pricing as well. i think their laptop product line is quite alright. well, that is product...

in order not to be bias, we should discuss objectively on their after sales services, can easily breakdown into three parts:
- courier service - retrieve / deliver laptops (for warranty or after repaired).
- counter service.
- repair time taken.

after u got problem on u laptop then u know their bad service after sale..........i got owned 2laptop and 1netbook asus brands but now scary look on asus brands.........

ya they need 4days to pick up u laptop then return back need 4days again mean overall already almost 2week because they didnt working on saturday and sunday

me ah?? can shock u le, from claiming warranty till they cannot repair till they refund, left 3 months then become 1 yr.... so total about 9 months lo.. i sent in may, refund me on feb lol... amazing right???? blush.gif

i also agree that asus is good in quality and spec compare to the price... the only complaint is their service ...like some other say, dun even walk into service centre, if not, u might get nightmare especially they cannot figure out the problem or no parts.... unless u don mind to wait.. tongue.gif

Already kena before on friends' units. I sent it back for them, pretty painless. Most issues resolved in 3-4 weeks. Desktop hardware fixed within 2-3 weeks so for me, I'm not getting too much shit from them.

Personally, they took 4 days to change a hard drive on one of my old units.

this happen to me oso, freaking me out, my jay chou n45s just brought back n i found out the speaker got the cracking sound and there are a mark that kena screw up be4. so i take to the service center at lowyat and the sc said it will jsut take about 1 week time,but after 2 week no 1 call me. when i call, i get 3 diffrent answer from their hotline,so i decided to take it when they told me the speaker is fixed. it take 1 and a half for them to take it from the bb plaza there .omg adn they forced me sign the receving form before let me check,in the end the problem still there!!!!!wtf!!!!!

same like mine case before...sent in and out 3 times, they never solved the problem..sigh.. some more my seller sent to them by post..each time need at least 3weeks to 1 months+ ... doh.gif

conclusion is NEVER EVER buy asus no matter how "good" their spec. is. my issue is still not resolved and my warranty is ending next month. this is basically their tactics. ignore u until your warranty ends.

Distribution was already delayed, and heck, service could be a nightmare then.

It's easy to say, yeah, just wait for 3-4 weeks to get your laptop fixed. Problem is, most of the time, you cannot afford to stop your work for 3-4 weeks, which is why its more advisable to support companies that go out of their way to service you in 3-4 days. In Malaysia, you are only looking at Dell and HP for that.

Ask yourself this :- Are you willing, for the sake of specs, to lose the use of your computer for 3-4 weeks just to have the real problems people here have. If you are not willing, then go and get brands with actual track record of doing things properly, which in this case is either Dell or HP.

Refurbished or not, you get a computer that you can straight up use, following your warranty period. Versus having to sign some sort of shitty release form and finding out that they didn't actually do any repair. Choose which one makes more sense?
