i was going to consider Asus laptop in my list, but the after sales service is just doh.gif
if nothing goes wrong that would be well, but to wait for 1 month or a few weeks plus rude/unhelpful service members, this is not going to do.

i personally think that Asus has some great laptop specs, their design is quite nice too, and competitive pricing as well. i think their laptop product line is quite alright. well, that is product...

in order not to be bias, we should discuss objectively on their after sales services, can easily breakdown into three parts:
- courier service - retrieve / deliver laptops (for warranty or after repaired).
- counter service.
- repair time taken.

considering that this is worldwide,
out of 505, that is quite a small number. 505 people cannot justify the customer service of asus worldwide. and as previously a forumer put it, majority of people only post when there is a problem or complain.

from the link:

QUOTE
Asus customer service is ranked #359 out of the 540 companies that have a CustomerServiceScoreboard.com rating with an overall score of 31.14 out of a possible 200 based upon 505 ratings. This score rates Asus customer service and customer support as Disappointing.

my experience will Dell beg to differ. at most, the longest last no longer than 2 weeks and that was changing the keyboard to found out a few days later it was the motherboard that cause the problem.

and laptop repair should take NO LONGER than 2 weeks in any scenario. if people don't need the mobile computing with them, they would have just gotten a PC and put it at home. even a week without a laptop can cause a lot of annoyance. every companies should practice good after sales service & hire competent people to man their service centers and stock their repair centers with good inventory control so that any laptop that was bring in/walk in, simple problem can be determine quickly and solve immediately.

Laptop servicing can take up to 2 months depending on the severity of the issue...
I think when buying brands without on-site supports, one must be prepared and expect 2 months repair time to avoid frustration and dissapointment hmm.gif

I think the best way now is to have two laptops (based on personal experience), so you won't be that rushing in getting your laptop back from the service center  laugh.gif
