Any hotel in Pantai Cenang area with bath tub? Budget not more than rm200 per night..

Tried Aseania before, having high expectation with those expensive rate.. But there's no bath tub at all, really disappointed..

Hi,

I'm traveling to Langkawi with my family members (20 pax) this week. I get quoted by the travel agents in Langkawi slightly more expensive than the information in this thread. For example: Car rental Nissan Serena was quoted by Arif_2008 only RM120, but I was quoted RM160.

Is it advisable to book the car rental and tour packages in Langkawi airport? This weekend is the off peak period, right? I'm just worry if all the cars are unavailable.

anyone here stayed in Chogm Villa 4208, Langkawi before? It's a 3 bedroom apartment. Is it clean?

Please suggest any other hotels/aprtment/villa that can accomodate 5 adults and a toddler. Preferably near the beach and has a swimming pool facilities.

Thank you in advance.

Oh, there are booths along Pantai Cenang? Then it will be convenient as We are staying at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort.smile.gif

Spoke to another travel agent today, he warned us on some scam going on with cheap tour package. The bus simply didn't turn up on the tour date after collecting the payment and left tourist stranded. Anyone has similar encounter?

went to langkawi 4d3n last week and it was awesome!!

stayed at the cabin for 2 nights. nice hotel with friendly staff.

1st day
arrived at kuala perlis jetty around 645am then took the earliest ferry to langkawi at 7am. rent a wira for rm60/day. we checked in around 10am. went for laksa pulau + cendol near the airport. after that went to cable car. at night we hang out at babylon?(reggae bar, RB) have a few (many) drinks with foreigners. almost hookin up with one finnish babe. rclxub.gif drool.gif

2nd day
woke up around 8am and took breakfast at breakfast bar. planned to take the island hopping at 9am. but chit chat with abg zul(the owner i guess) and we didnt realize it was already 10ish. so we rush to the jetty and the operator told us to take the afternoon session. so we head back to cenang to do some jetskiing and doughnut ride. scary as hell for 15min. i suggest u go to seeman watersport and look for zaki. nice fler and he offered us to have lunch as well. icon_rolleyes.gif we book the island hopping with him. rm25 per pax. after island hopping session we straight away go to RB till late.

3rd day
breakfast bar as usual. check out from the cabin and checked in at ab motel for rm80 per night. then we head to kuah for some shopping and sightseeing around langkawi. back to cenang for parasailing. went for bar hopping. thumbup.gif brasserie for happy hour. buy one cocktail free one. then food & beer next to seeman watersport. another small bar near the cenang main road. (cant remember the exact location as we stroll the cenang road and we accidentally found this joint) and sunbar till late. rclxub.gif

4rd day
breakfast bar again. nothing much to do. check out and do some last minute shopping for cig n liquor. luckily no customs checked our bags. thumbup.gif

will repeat again in may perhaps. probably will do the jet ski tour, mangrove tour, koh lipe and sunset cruise next.

Just got back from Langkawi. Weather is hot, 35 degree celcious during the day. Managed to rent at Langkawi airport for a Serena 4D3N for RM350 plus 2 Nissan Sentra for RM210. I didn't even have to bargain hard and all cars are quite new (used for 6 months to a year).

Island hopping with private chartered boat (fits up to 15 adults, children FOC) for RM350. Pulau Payar for adult is RM85 and children for RM65.

Both excursions are not suitable for infant and children under 3 years old. Hot, long journey (from hotel pick up to jetty, jetty to ferry, ferry to boat and vice versa) took about 5 hours for Pulau Payar. Lunch box provided was so terrible, luckily we brought our own finger food and sandwiches. Pulau Payar is poorly maintain without any clean water to bath. We had to use mineral water to wash off the sea water before boarding the ferry again. Heard a lot of grouses from tourists regarding the facilities in Pulau Payar.

The women (myself, sisters, aunties and my mom) bought a lot of tableware from Corningware, the men (my husband, bil, dad, uncles) bought alcohol and the children bought lots of chocolate! Langkawi is a shopping haven for all ages!

Food in general is ok, nothing spectacular, not pricey either. Starbucks, Bread Story, Old Town, KFC and McD are available along Pantai Cenang. We also ate in hotel which is overly price with average taste. But at times, we were too tired to go out. For accommodation, this time around, we stayed at Meritus Pelangi in Pantai Cenang. My parents loved the proximity to shops while the children love the kids pool! But my husband preferred to stay in Berjaya Langkawi (the last trip) instead with nicer beach, rain forest and exclusivity.

Overall, it was a good trip and Langkawi is still a good place to go back to! thumbup.gif

hi, I plan to visit Langkawi on early July with 4 other friends. But I'm still looking for a suitable hotel/motel/apartment as our budget is restricted. I had given 2 choces between Sri Lagenda Apartment and Chenang Village (also known as Chenang Rest House). Which one is better? In term of cleanliness, facility, logistics. Thanks.

Between 15min-20min drive if u use jalan bukit malut during daytime.. At night, Jalan bukit malut is very quiet, very less traffic, normally the locals will use jalan kedawang- jalan padang matsirat to go to town and vice-versa.

Resort World Langkawi is located at the end of Jalan Pantai Tengah. There is no beach for beach activities but the property is located near the sea where you will enjoy watching luxurious yachts and boats docking at the jetty.. They also have the Star Cruise jetty located nearby... If you are a person who like to spend more time at the hotel, less travelling, then you could enjoy patronising the hotel facilities. Renting a car is a must for travelling.. But if u prefer to spend 80% time outside, then this is not the suitable place to be... You should be looking at hotels located at Pantai Cenang or hotels in jalan pantai tengah which is nearer to pantai cenang..
