Resort World Langkawi formerly known as Awana Porto Malai is located at the end of Jalan Pantai Tengah and there is no beach surrounding the property.. But they do provide jetty facilities for boat and yacht to dock. If u have a car, u could drive down to pantai tengah nearby Aseania Resort (less than 5 minutes) to enjoy the beach plus watching the sunset.. Many years back, Resort World Langkawi does provide boat service transfer to a private island nearby for their guest to enjoy beach facilities... U have to check with the resort whether they still provide this service!!!

Most of the happening place are located at Pantai Cenang and by having a car wont stop u from travelling to those places which take less than 10 minutes...

Guys...

I need help!

Am traveling to langkawi in Aug. now planning for the accommodation for 2 adults and 3 young ones age 4-7.

Which hotel is good for family? Budget rm500 plus minus per night..

I thought of either aseania or one helang hotel... I heard aseania is old and badly need refurbishment. Am not sure with one helang.

Appreciate any good feedback...

Cheers!

Hello there, one helang is now owned by Sheraton.. the room is huge and can easily accommodate 2 adults + 3 children per room (2 queen sized beds + 1 small cushioned plateform by the window).. not joking.. However, its location isnt the best from the others because it is an airport hotel and u have to drive to the town (15-20 min drive) and cenang beach (5-10 min) ..

As for Aseania, the room will not be as good as one helang (not too bad) but the location is right at the end of cenang beach.. so it is just within walking distance to those hotspots albeit u still have to drive to go to kuah town..

Hey... thanks for the advise bro...

I've booked One Helang and cancelled Aseania as I heard bad reviews of Aseania (rooms dirty, hotel service so so, etc etc). Didn't know One Helang is now owned by Shraton. So, it should be good eh...

Anyway, I've booked the suite which comes with 1 king/queen (can't remember) + 2 single beds. I think it's joining rooms.

Hopefully, I made the right decision.

I don't mind the distance coz I'll be renting a car to go around. From my point of view, it doesn't matter where you stay as long as you have transport to bring you around. Afterall, you wouldn't want to spend time around the hotel, rite? icon_rolleyes.gif

Actually u really do need a hotel with good rooms.. cause the weather at lgk is burning hot (well, its an island and the heat is diff) .. one helang is really good and im sure ull like the room.. travelling around is not a prob coz with a car, u can easily travel to any places.. if u wanna makan, travel to kuah for seafood.. tryout a restaurant named wonderlandz.. avoid meals at chenang as it is a tourist hotspot and may charge at a higher rate.. hope this helps hehe
