Hope my SA keep his promise that my Blue PC will arrived June/July.

I did receive the autogen SMS yesterday.
Actually I went through a nerve wrecking process in order to get this car of mine collected on 19th May (postponed 3 weeks).
My car arrived at the branch outlet on the 23rd April and I suppose to collect it on Labour Day. A day before collection, I was only informed that the car that arrived was NOT with the DVD AVN that I have paid for. After all the drama, finally the Branch Manager called to inform me that I have no choice but to collect the car as they have "accidentally registered" and they will refund me for the DVD AVN.
The reason given is because they cannot send my registered car back to the accessory factory to get the DVD AVN fixed (it's against their policy).

So I complaint to the UMW Toyota HQ and was then referred to the "Sales- Complaint" Dept. Spoke to one of the personnel and fair enough she gave me options. So finally decided to transport my car back to the accessory factory to install the DVD AVN for me and transport it back to the branch showroom. I was informed by the HQ personnel that I am the "first case" (dunno how true la) and normally fully imported cars cannot be send back to accessory factory once they are ship out. And in order to do this, the branch outlet has to bear additional cost of RM8k (dunno how true also).

On my car collection day, they extended me an apology letter with:-
1. 2 Complimentary Advance MaxCheck Services ( 10,000km and 20,000km - whichever comes first ) Basically free for a year smile.gif
2. Additional salesman discount smile.gif

I guess its a happy ending at the end of the day. Except the for the delay and waiting for 3 additional weeks. tongue.gif

I think pearl white may reflect some other colors at specific angles (I could be mistaken), but I think the other guys here can elaborate more on it. I think someone a few posts back actually described it I can't remember who it was.
*
It was Post #563

"Toyota Colour Code 082 is called MoonGlow or Lime White Pearl or Pearl White. It is different from Super White 040 or Metallic White which are mainly a single layer of paint.

MoonGlow Pearl White has a base of solid white gloss paint, then added a thin layer mix of pearly flake elements that reflects tiny multicolour speckles of light - green, red, pink, yellow, etc... Different batch mix of this second layer and sprayer gun delivery ratio would create slightly different effects - like how no two pearls are created totally alike in the oyster. Then the usual top coat of clear acrylic to smoothen and protects the paint layers. The final result is a very beautiful glistening white car. biggrin.gif

Hence MoonGlow Pearl White colour is very difficult to re-match the original shimmery effect look and greenish lime colour hue property when you need to touch up or respray, especially accident repairs. Mostly would turn out to be slightly more yellowish hue or creamy white than the original very white base. Anyway all whites have always been difficult to match in repair jobs because a slight variation is more easier to be noticed compared to other colour shades. It is most obvious when it is the door or side panels. But thankfully not many people actually look closely ...

Locally UMW charges extra RM800 for this colour option, while in other countries it is priced the same with other metallic colour options AFAIK."

I've finally received my car today, sorry for the late reply cos I was driving it around since earlier rclxm9.gif
Also I found out the toyota tinting takes something like 60 days to cure and you shouldn't roll the windows down for a week or whatever it was. (I still gotta re-read everything).
Another thing I found out was that the dvd-avn used malsing map dated from 2010 year.
I found the tow screw in thingy on the passenger side floor.
I had to pump the tires as for some reason the front left tire was quite deflated.
I think I have to remind the SA about the tinting warranty as it was not fully filled out/signed.
There was quite a bit of dirt on my car? Like grimey dried water on the right side of the windshield heh, not sure what that was about, not to mention the car itself was slightly dusty. I will be taking it for coating soon (gzox).

@NEbulaSurfer, @chrymnd
You should keep up with your SA because when I waited for a month for mine to contact me they didn't, and I had a feeling soon enough that I was going to end up on the 2nd shipment (which I did) but finally it came in. My SA said they had their hands full too so I think they had other stuff to contend with, but each time I would ask they seemed a little blur at times about the arrival date so I would keep inquiring persistently. I have a feeling I got pushed down the queue or something (I ordered beginning of March) because apparently there are already around 30 here in kk? I have only seen one though. chrymnd what color did you order? NEbulaSurfer wow, quite a long time, where are you and what color did you choose? I do seriously say even with the excrutiatingly painful waiting time that feels like someone slowly pricking away at fresh scab nerve endings with a needle it was worth it. I finally felt the release of tension and drove around for an hour or two immediately after getting the car off the lot, ate some delicious bakuteh, bought some jackpot tickets, and finished off with ice cream hehe. Try asking your SA where in the waiting list or shipment you are in, not sure if it would work but it's worth a try just to ask. I think kk people are going to love this car.

Hmm, did any of you guys ever receive an sms from UMW Toyota that says something like, "Greetings from UMW Toyota: Thank you for placing your order for Prius C. We appreciate & value your support in choosing Toyota as your preferred brand.". Just received the sms yesterday (and no I still haven't got the car yet *sadface*). Also this hot weather lately is driving me insane - but it finally rained lots last night.
*
I received the sms last evening. I booked mine early Apr but just received confirmation sms yesterday. I called up my SA this morning and was told that UMW knows that Prius C is overbooked. In order not to let us feel "unattended" (which might lead to cancellation), UMW sent this sms to "drag" us longer. However, my SA speculates that UMW might consider to give other freebies so that we stay on the line. Llast time, the big Prius had the same thing too. Dunno if my SA tipu me or not...

My case is the opposite as yours. My order was a silver C but without a DVD, but when the car arrived they said the car came with DVD set one. I was so angry cuz the SA was asking me " So how? Do you wanna take the DVD and top up rm3000 or you wanna wait for another month or so?" I was angry because first of all it was not my fault that messed up the order. My order clearly stated there without DVD unit so now the car comes with DVD and instead of finding solution they are throwing the problem to me. I did not want to wait any longer cuz initially my car arrived early April and the stupid SA gave it away to other customer. Hence i got to wait for another month until early May. So i was so angry that i complaint to the manager personally and finally god knows where they find another silver C without DVD for me. On top of that the manager gave me rm200 shopping voucher. But few days after driving the car only i realise there is a defect to the seat back cushion. IT WAS DENTED! they so clever when i collect my car that time they use a cover to cover it as if its to protect from stain/dirt prior to deliver to customer. Now send in report adi to claim and waiting news from the service centre which is another headic for me cuz its been over a week and they never bother to follow up! Tomorrow gonna call and marah kao kao! vmad.gif

Also, anyone has demanded the SA to get the car polished and waxed prior delivery? The paint surface of Prius C seems rough.

In case anyone not aware, hybrid car owner (i.e. Prius C) who bought their car from Toyota dealer in Petaling Jaya, they could actually apply 3-month free parking monthly pass from MBPJ via http://www.mbpj.gov.my/c/document_library/...f&groupId=21857

thumbup.gif Congratulations that the exciting PriusC is yours now! rclxms.gif

The thingy under my front passenger seat is the jack to change tyre. My small towing eyelet is in the toolbag kept in the boot.
There is just a small space under the driver's seat to squeeze in a compact sub-woofer.
My driver seat back has no pocket, only the passenger seat back has the pocket.

Can your doors autolock?

I just buy AutoCar for June 2012 issue and Prius C is highlight against Honda Insight. And once again it lost to Honda Insight.. erm... i think it depends on each driver taste.

I still prefer Prius C over Honda Insight anytime.. wait we can't bash but this is just a personal opinion.

Wow.. but seem alot of Prius C have problem with quality and rusted material. Think maybe the factory is going under super OT which reduce their quality. As pillowpaws711 say we must complaint to Toyota directly.

Wonder if you can give us whom you contact so we can know who to find if we find the quality issue ^^

Yup . I'm booked mine around may. You booked on march and get on may will be reasonable as i think. Because i'm went to the opening ceremony and get all the details and unable to confirm to my salesman because of budget control with some comment like (go for cRZ, insight, prius ). After that, i'm had decided to booked the prius c at last minute which i'm told you on may. So that will be my fault that cause in long waiting period. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif . im chosen white colour. 082. ( Popular)
But from the first shipment already require 3 months waiting list as i knew. so your one will be reasonable.

May i know how is the fuel efficiency ? can achieve the european cycle like 25.6km/l around KK?
