QUOTE(trisx @ Jul 12 2012, 10:24 PM) i damn jelly with m5f Basically both MVG and MVF perform very wellbad to bad if upgrading from my m5g btw the Thunder FX is good? Kevin u bought m5f bundle Thunder FX or not? Can't see what's the difference in terms of normal OCbility unless if you're playing extreme cooling in which MVF can take more MORE voltage. I personally think that MVG is a brilliant little monster that you won't be missing anything on this board. Gene = Small form factor Formula = everything you will ever need Extreme = as above but more features & accessories that are extra for you My Formula doesn't come with the TFX, as I don't really need a sound for a 100% benching rig. |

Yup totally agree with u. For mild OC and gaming MVG is just great
Just lurking around reviewson TFX, seems it is not performing as good as Asus Essence series? Found out the new sound card from asus. Asus Phoebus. Seems gooding This post has been edited by trisx: Jul 13 2012, 06:36 PM |

Seems gooding it all depends on your ears and if you can hear the difference. |

Good evening fellow OC'ers ... I'm newbie in overclocking. Just want to share my 1st overclocking attempt on air
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Also, want to ask one question. Is 40 C a normal idle temp (for air cooling) on 33.5 C ambient temp w/o aircond? I googled idle temp on good air cooling is around 30 (ambient temp of 25 C) on most forum... I'm using thermalright archon heatsink with a TY-140 fan and Gentle Typhoon AP-15 (temporary fan before another TY-140 arrived) in push-pull config. Hope any1 can give an insight on this. Looking forward to see my name on the 1st page This post has been edited by ZaiNor-DI255: Jul 23 2012, 07:47 AM |

try OC my i5-3570K with 4.5GHz offset +0.010V (Vcore=1.208-1.216v)
be4 got BSOD with x1A error which is not sufficient dram voltage... after lurking around find out my ram running 1.585v in default/auto in BIOS/UEFI then i set up dram voltage=1.585v everything goes fine untill 1 hour++ prime95 got fatal error in prime...but none BSOD occurs..just 1 core stop working....anybody? As you could overvolt CPU so does the dram right? i'll bump +0.015v now.... 1 thing is it ok 1.5 ram running 1.585v? stated here scroll down by lingloong this 1333MHz ram easily run 1600MHz,but may b possible with 1.585v later i'll test after cpu stable... Just give it a bump dram can take high vdimm w/o dying or degrading. |

QUOTE(huzzLEE_82 @ Jul 14 2012, 02:28 PM) glad to hear that.. because it is tested stable with 1.5v at rated speed/timing so they label it as 1.5v.u foresee my next question..hahaha wats the point having it stated 1.5V while it works over tat btw....hehe don't be surprise to see a 1600, 1866 or 2133 etc Vengeance having the same ICs as your 1333 kit but they're labeled @ 1.6v & 1.65v |

ok after ~1hour+ blend test of prime95
here's the screenshot of CPU-Z,prime95,real temps,AiDA64 temp readings » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « btw all temps readings varies..so which one the most accurate? my references webpage for OC obtained here: (coz here mostly Asus users,me budget user only Ivy Bridge complete OC guide ASRock Edition ASrock Z77 discussion club btw owikh last nite whenever i set my dram voltage to 1.5v with default timing 9-9-9 24 1N BSOD occurs in my board it considers undervolt (with sufficient voltage) coz by default it runs 1.585v i run memtest86 last nite for 2hours45minutes++ and confirm none of the stick have errors.... Look at your HWMon shows 127C on the other spots which is not supposed to look like that. |
