It will work on other brands as well including my office's HP desktop PC which is using an OEM mobo. smile.gif

Thanks. After changing ram timings, we need to change the dram frequency and dram voltage also right?

As discussed earlier, you might or might not need to add vDIMM when timing is tighten or frequency is increased. It's all depends on your RAM capability and CPU IMC strenght.

But normally when you tighten timing you will have to increase vDIMM, VCCIO or/and VCCSA.

My advice is to increase the RAM frequency one step higher ie. 1600 9-9-9 to 1866 9-9-9 or 9-10-9 or 9-11-9, you might need or not need increase the above mentioned voltages. It's all about try and error and do some homework aka googling around.

The low GFlops might be due to single channel RAM. Looks handicap and performs like old days Pentium dual core.

Yes definitely you should retest later.
Of course dual channel is more difficult to pass stability tests and need to tweak again the settings voltages etc. It's all different now. Good luck!

Just noticed that, dual channel once the GFlops goes above 100 surely the temps will shoot up to 105C and speed will be throttled down hence causing a failed OC.

Wanna ask all the i5 3570k users, what's your max stable/achievable oc? I7 3770k users are welcomed to share too.

You can refer to the first page of this thread. There are listed users with their achievement. How many GHZ u wanna achieve and what cooling solution are u using? Water or Air Cooling?

Thanks for the advice. Didn't know about that. I'm planning to get either i5 or i7 but still deciding. Reason I asked the question is because most of the i5 seem to oc till 4.5ghz to only.
Btw, I noticed that you are using mpower board. How is it?

Yeah the maximum clock achieved by 3770k is somehow higher than 3570k, I also found that Vcore needed is lower in 3770k for a same speed achieved with 3570k. But 3770k is faster than 3570k by default. Are u gaming or need a lot of rendering power?

It's a decent solid board, but it doesn't have offset mode if that's your concern. smile.gif

That's the thing. I do not want my oc to be limited. Heavy gaming and maybe a lil of autocad. Offset?
I'm in the process of getting either mpower, extreme 6 or maybe oc formula.
