The machines are just for a rough guide and introduction for you to understand your body better. Also for you to track progress from time to time.

Once you understand more about losing fats, and how precious your muscles are and not set them to waste, using the mirror itself would be sufficient most of the time. You can differentiate between two people of the same size, but one looks toned and muscular the other one is weak and chubby.

Hi, I suggest you read from page one of this thread. You'll be able to learn alot of things, and be able to differentiate between myths and real things. Your question, and many more that you are going to ask, have been answered many times in this same thread. Good luck! :-)

Can give this a try, about twice a week, with ample rest days between each time.

http://www.fitocracy.com/knowledge/dr-layn...-in-15-minutes/

What's your height? If you're tall, 64 kg could be a good weight.

Big ass and thighs (muscular plus sufficient fats, not flabby) could be highly sexy.

Don't look at losing weight, emphasis on losing fats.

Can adjust the max resistance to a more realistic one, closer to your own max resistance or abit more than that. In numbers, for example the bike can go up till 25, but realistically the max for you should be 18 - 20.

Here's something that everyone who's looking into losing weight can try.

Extreme Sports and Fitness is hosting a Weight Loss Challenge in January 2015. It is a 6 week program where you will be trained to be fit and lose weight at the same time. It also includes dieting facts and how to plan your diet the right way. You can call the number in the image for more information. I have friends working out there and they say its probably going to be good. You can lose weight and stand a chance to win an ipad mini 2. Not bad la... lol

Frankly speaking, I don't really control my food consumption at the moment.
Nowadays, below are my food consumption

Morning - Cereal with yoghurt or overnight oat
Lunch - Vege and meat (No carbo). Once in a while I'll have something better
Dinner - I just eat whatever I can find. Maybe juices, yoghurt, salad etc

I think I'm eating too much of rubbish lately. Last time I can just survive without meat.

I lost my tat 20kg in June - Dec 2013 and it is stagnant till now =(
My friend told me it might be due to me doing my exercises especially squats and lunges with my usual weight. He ask me tried carrying heavier weights with less reps.  icon_question.gif

I realise my lower body is real big =(

Hi guys, seldom post but I've loss 4kg in 1 month (Oct) so thought sharing with everyone or anyone who wish to go through the same route. Weight loss: 71kg to 67kg.

For a start, I'm pretty skinny everywhere except my beer belly. It was accumulated for many years and I was pretty sad when many told me how come I cycled so much still big belly (I'm a keen cyclist).

So the losing weight started when I signed up for a cycling charity challenge which requires me to complete 1000km in month of Oct. I managed total of 1350km. It was tough and torturing.

My routine was riding as much as possible during weekdays. Morning before work and night after work. I rode long distances on both weekends plus 1 race which really burned up my calories. I changed my diet to

- no alcohol intake at all
- no soft drink or sugary drink
- no junk food or fast food and no unhealthy snacks in between meals
- no changes in breakfast, lunch and dinner other than cutting down portions to about 40-50% lesser.
- increased intake of dark chocs and jelly beans during riding (else I'll feel lethargic)
- increased intake of whey protein for faster muscle recovery
- increased intake on fruits and fat free less sugar yoghurt (served as in between meals)
- increased intake of carbs especially for the next day long ride.

I felt really great physically and mentally after the month of Oct.
I've started binge on food after Oct and gone up 1kg but recently came back down because I've started my marathon training. I'm trying to get my weight to an ideal of 65kg but target to peak at 61kg (race weight) in preparation for the FM.

Conclusion to my method which worked on me is cardio + intensity + dieting + discipline = weight loss + wonderful feeling

Loosing weight is not an easy task, It need full dedication and hard work to maintain your weight. You need to follow proper diet and exercise daily, I am not saying too much exercise, but in routine. You have to exercise according to your diet. It makes you healthy.

Hello guys, im a fatty who wants to lose his weight like everyone else. im 103kg (last time checked was 2013) and 183cm.

So I've start to jog 6 weeks ago and casually follow my friend's hiking trip. I also started diet by eating only 2 meals a day (breakfast and 5pm lunch/dinner) but right now Im not very satisfied with it. I want to do some exercise in home too. Why not just go straight to gym? Well, im a fat f*** who got lack of confidence.

So I've started doing these 'exercise' 2 weeks ago. But without proper guide and help, man I dunno what I'm doing is right or wrong.

Exercise per session
10 sit up
5 push up
30x lifting 3kg dumbell
50x Hand Grip

I'm doing 3 sessions in morning and 3 sessions in afternoon. Yeah I know it's not enough eventhough my muscle start's to hurt. So I need some tips and guides for a beginner's exercise at home. Should I buy a new heavier dumbell.. or anything? Help me guys. Thanks

Just sharing my knowledge from what i gained before, anyone may correct me smile.gif

For weight management, it should include plan for
1) Diet
2) Exercise
3) Supplementation

Diet doesn’t mean starving, but one must watch what he/she eats. Taking multiple small meals, drink plenty of water and also take less sugar.

Exercise increases calories burn but people tend not to have time for it. Exercise may take longer time if you do the wrong one. You need to do the right exercise ( do less get more )

Adding supplement to your diet could help you greatly
1) A nutritious meal replacement drink is easy and suit the busy lifestyle. Low in calories and fat, a balance of protein, fat, carbohydrates, essential vitamins, and minerals, including dietary fibre.

2) Fibres help to slow down the rate of food digestion so that you dont quickly feel hungry and good for bowel

3) Soybeans contain Lecithin and Vitamin E. These two elements complement each other to help in digestion. While Lecithin turn fat into small unit so that easily be digested, Vitamin E protects lecithines from oxidation. When doing high physical activities like exercise free radical will be produced. Hence Vitamin E is a good antioxidant to protect from the free radicals.

4) Coenzyme Q10 converts food to energy but need also energy to function properly. Thus L-Carnitine helps carry fats as fuel to be used by CoQ10 as an energy source.

5) White kidney bean and soybean also reduce the absorption of sugar and carbohydrate

6) Protein cannot be easily stored in body, hence need to be restored. As we exercise, muscle consumes calories and thus burn fat. Thus to build muscles and keep them to function at their best protein is needed.

7) Lastly try your best to consume enough minerals, vitamin and nutrient from vegetables and fruits, so that our bodies could function in top form.

Therefore i recommend you guys to take our Shape Up programme in 10 Weeks by Amway.

Hey,

So currently, I do 3 type of barbell exercises.
-Bicep Curl
-Behind Shoulder Press
-Front Shoulder Press

I usually does it at 20kg, and lately I increase the weight to 30kg and was able to do both shoulder press at 15 reps x 3.

Im planning to increase 10 more kg, so is it okay doing bicep curl at 40kg? Anything that I need to watch for to prevent hand injury or such?
