Sent my whole set of gears to BTS for service...
Play with D800 & D4...
Kinda regretted as kena poison with D800 with it's details...
And ISO 12800 of D4 is more of less same with ISO 2000 of D700...
*
that means indirectly u are saying that ISO12800 of D4 is the same as around ISO7000 of D3s?
sure or not?

He's judging from the camera itself which may not be accurate, plus, there's other factors like the is it under 100% the same condition? Any under-expose or dark areas, etc?

There's already detail test done by many professional anyway, with samples for your to see and compare, plus some even take the raw file vs jpeg file to compare with D3S, and also resample to D3S size, it gets better after resampled to 12MP.

i'm not sure how the resampling reduces noise for D4 / D800.
noise should still be the same resampled, just not as obvious.

Added on April 2, 2012, 11:41 amanyway, everyones fav Dx0 has released their findings which i guess everyone knows by now.
D3s about 1/2 stop better than D4, and D4 about 1 stop better than D800.
so that should reason that D800 is just about 1 stop better than D700.

thanks... that a big help...
still need to wait for d300s refreshment though (d400?)
*

yes, rumours are that there will be a replacement by this year, maybe april like the D3200, maybe sept with the D7100, who knows......
if you can wait why not, but if you are passionate about photograp, then getting one now and go thru all the options and settings available would be a very interesting journey. E.g. my WB now i use K values based on the lighting available, most use grey card, i use my own instinct and judgement, the results can be very interesting at times smile.gif

Nikon wont spend more money to research and apply the screw driver to beginner body and past few years nikon releasing non-motor-driven lenses and it is usable on many of the beginner body like D40/60/3k 5k or so

True, that's why I didn't say reduce, hehe; I wrote better in terms of overall tongue.gif

I think what D800 excels in is the detail, really amazing.

Hi..

My camera having prob, so i sent to the nikon hq for repair.

They informed me, the prob is on my shutter and it cost me RM800++...It is quiet weird because I bought the camera only for 2 years, and only use it on my holiday (very2 rarely use). I bought the camera at Bintang Maju..

What do you thinks guys?

guys.. want to ask...

how the accuracy (not speed) of outer AF point (not the central cross- type)
of nikon d7000 and d300s... at large aperture
(using nikon lens, 50mm f1.8, 85 f1.8, 70-200 f2.8)
same as d700?
I'm comparing D700 and D300. The D700 is slightly faster.

Note that the spread of AF sensors on the D300 is much wider than on the FX D700. The AF sensors on the FX body is mostly centered.

Yes, at the end of the day, it's what the eye can see. If you view a D800 pic at 100%, you can see all the noise flaws at high ISO. Reduce it to D700 resolution and everything seems to be gone.

anyway, everyones fav Dx0 has released their findings which i guess everyone knows by now.
D3s about 1/2 stop better than D4, and D4 about 1 stop better than D800.
so that should reason that D800 is just about 1 stop better than D700.
D800 1 stop better than D700? Base on your findings, it's more like 0.5 stop since D3s is 1 stop better than D700.

its not my findings, its Dx0 doh.gif
ok then, so D800 and D700 should have about same noise control.
not bad then...tho i still would want to find a decently priced used D3s...cheapest i seen so far is RM10k about a yr ago...
