QUOTE(quadcube @ Dec 25 2012, 09:24 AM) it doesn't help..but seems that the pi is screwing up all my sd cards.even newly bought ones, after inserting into pi,window cant read them at all anymore when you create a bootable RPi OS (or raspbmc/openelec) it won't be windows-readable. and even if it does, only around 100MB is readable (the part that makes it bootable). what power supply do you use?

just ordered a RPI, clear case with card reader.
i glance through most of the replies, many recommended playing as media center when connected to NAS. can it play through the network shared folder?
im a bio grad, i guess this is as far as i can use the pi. lol

More use of RPi, being telco provider anyone? http://www.newelectronics.co.uk/electronic...berry-pi/46960/Surely this is illegal in MY as the spectrum is MCMC controlled.

Added on December 27, 2012, 9:19 amcurious, what do u all make use for the GPIO pin? connect to arduino? connect to various sensor? This post has been edited by aba9785: Dec 27 2012, 09:19 AM

Get this one http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/160928397853?ss...984.m1439.l2649I bought it from this guy, very awesome guy. when mine arrived one of the buttons had broken, and he was quite upset and sent me a bunch of other stuff (together with the button). at the backside it fits the RPi perfectly to the GPIO port. even came with some tutorials to set it up. alternatively, you can get just the lcd by searching for HD44780 on ebay, a standard lcd display. if you get a breakout kit from ebay/chinaman seller it's faster. although during these festive season and holidays it'll prolly take longer than just 2 weeks.
