should be no problem considering pi needs just around 700mA. give it some buffer if you put extra USB and NIC connected, but 1A should be sufficient

if the box got gambar penguin linux then it should work. one that confirm working are prolink, asus n10 and edimax ones.
as long as the box states how much power it uses (should be really really low) then it should work la.

Ordered the edup nano one instead as it was cheaper. The edimax i dont see anyone carrying locally and appears more expensive

I stand corrected, you have to order as "business" and not "personal".
They are no longer selling to personal customers and will redirect you to website of distributors and retailers.
Click to purchase as business and you'll be on your way! icon_rolleyes.gif

lol. eh, did they asked for business proof as mentioned?
i saw the price is RM110.. what is the total price with shipping?

last time i bought RM145 with shipping. (128MB version)

stick to this list and u wont go wrong: http://www.elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripher..._Wi-Fi_Adapters

i personally use edimax 8711un. i had asus n10 that didnt work! maybe that was because it is the earliest copy known.

btw, anyone having to reboot thei rpi (512MB) xbian (1.0 Alpha 1) around 5 days each time because the wifi hung? i found out that removing the usb wifi and reinserting it works again but the mouse attached did not work. so had to reboot every 5 days.

Where'd you purchase yoru Edimax USB Adapter in MY?

QUOTE(skywardsword @ Dec 13 2012, 10:41 AM)
Yes, it does work. 5V @ 2.1A. A lot of extra juice to power your RPi and it's peripherals but still not a 2.5" Ext. HDD.

If you purchase it separately, it's cheaper @ RM111+RM28.70 = RM139.70 instead of RM159.
Do note there's no ready stock for the separate ones.

No business proof was required for me. But that's cause I had a trade account from previous trades.
The price of RM111 is the total paid and invoiced incl shipping via GDEX.

edimax, asus n10, prolink DOES work. but only verified with raspbian, NOT raspbmc.

for raspbmc, i believe n10 doesn't work out-of-the-box. need to ssh and install/configure it first.

also, i've been researching about GPS and RPi, and I came across this

just google/ebay for BU 353 / 355. It's around RM105 and above plus shipping from china.

to configure, you need gpsd.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gpsd

sudo apt-get install gpsd gpsd-clients python-gps

just note that most GPS receivers uses serial, even usb ones (it will autocreate a (virtual) serial port). More info:

i am a android user, use linux (ubuntu) for a very limited time before but not familiar with it and found it not user friendly (ok, i am a noob.. -.-)

so now i am considering Pi or MK808(cost RM280 with remote control), my main purpose is to watch video on my TV, and maybe very little internet browsing, which one is more suitable for me ?

my main concern is the video support, like rmvb/mp4/mkv 720p,1080p smoothness.

Added on December 16, 2012, 7:53 pmForget to mention and some PPstream / Funshion as well tongue.gif

it's all laser-cut, wooden box parts. see the middle part? the guy cut the groove that way so it's "spring-y" for you to slot the other parts together, as well as for ventilation. GENIUS!
