Not the cheapest but looks to be quite robust with ferrite bead.

Ebay HDMI-to-DVI cable

[Edit]
uh-oh. I just noticed the product description is wrong. Better check first before buying.

pi got restocked at element14. stock count is about 1400+ so there's plenty to purchase!

i just ordered one. the web will not show free shipping, but when I receive the order acknowledgement it's stated there that the shipment is indeed free.

I used this buffalo adapter for wireless and it's working fine for arch linux

Would you mind sharing your experience on using Rasp?

I would like to know the overall performance. Are you fully satisfied? I know it can play h.264 1080p, but what about lossless audio(dts-hd ma and truehd)? Hows the menu navigation speed? What about loading images(fanart etc).

thanks.

I have no exp with that as I don't use the pi for entertainment box. I can't find the codec used for the audio, so my guess is it's built-in, so the quality is nothing to be amazed of.

That is why I told people to place order even if it show out of stock.
There were signs that new stock coming in. from 1.4k to 700, seriously lots of people buying it for fun.
I wish, they would offer a good price set/combo for psu, camera, wifi, usb hub, heatsink and casing.

+keyboard and mouse
+monitor
+sdcard for os
++breakout box for GIOP.
Then it would be more complete.
<*just buy a chrombook... lol... would be the end result.>
*
better buy outside for PSU & sdcard. original phone/tablet chargers works wonderful already.
8GB sdcard is dirt cheap. sandisk 8GB class 4 can be cut to half so it's not sticking out

After sorting out,I think u can try this,

http://my.element14.com/micrel-semiconduct...d-5v/dp/1556712
Output current 1.25A
Minimum input voltage 4.3v
Max input voltage 26v

But it cost 8 bucks
*
anyone has circuit so i can use 9v battery for phone or pi use or just connect to the terminals and route output to the pi?

should be no problem considering pi needs just around 700mA. give it some buffer if you put extra USB and NIC connected, but 1A should be sufficient

More use of RPi, being telco provider anyone?
http://www.newelectronics.co.uk/electronic...berry-pi/46960/

Surely this is illegal in MY as the spectrum is MCMC controlled.

RM60 MK802 clone. Delivery maybe 3-4 weeks but worth it.

I think for RPi just stick with Linux. For Android, it's matured with A10 or RK3066 or harkernel Exynos boards.

clustering is just software on top the OS. Nothing to shout about. it's good proof of concept though

Just found out that Model A is now available at RS-Components. Ordered two units @ RM79.77 each, free shipping.
*
Thanks for the notice. rclxms.gif
All the while I can't order from RS-online as they keep redirect to the international site. Today I dig deep through and found we can order Model A at RM79.77 and Model B at RM111.

Browse here, and tick the Raspberry Pi under Brand.

No need Thendermatch now tongue.gif

PSU for Pi. cool2.gif
http://elinux.org/RPi_5V_PSU_construction
I know diodes only allow one way flow of current.
What I don't get is how it works in this circuit.
*
I think it's clear.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode#Over-voltage_protection

It's to protect the circuit so it never go beyond the 5v spec of the pi

Stepping down from 9V adapter.
My previous Samsung 5V 0.7A adapter didn't work properly.
Same with 1A from Vztech USB hub and 2A adapter from media player.
Reading fluctuating voltage at TP1/TP2.
On one adapter pendrive kept getting mounted and unmounted.
On other occasions USB keyboard also went dead in mid use (works on PC).

Thanks for info about D1 & D2.
Can't find 1N4008 so I bought the 1N4007
*
the samsung original travel adapter is actually quite good and stable for my use. try to replace the cable. the microusb connector got faulty sometime.

Actually tried 3 Samsung adapter - two with its own attached cable one with separate microUSB cable.
Two USB cables tried with same result.
Of the Vztech and media player adapter plugged into Vztech adapter and fed power via microUSB cable one of them gave wildly fluctuating voltage reading (can't remember which - wrote down somewhere).
Vztech hub cut 5V line to give no backfeed via Pi USB ports.

So, I thought I'd build a regulator circuit to rule out power supply problems.

for low power trasmitting it should be ok; just don't broadcast copyrighted material.

there's a lot of FM trasmitter hobby kit sold in the open.

but better check with MCMC smile.gif to be safe.

for future reference,Pi uses approximately 700mA,USB HDD approx 500mA
*
simple rule for USB HDD, if it has dual heads USB, it need 1A power, ie draw 500mA each heads.
just use external powered HDD to be safe smile.gif
