I started with my current bike during cny and still riding it.. but accessory here and there plus maintenance did cost a lot.

It's the reason why I almost have no saving at all right now, even doing running and swimming + trail running all combine failed to match cost of doing cycling (plus I swim 3 times a week, only cycle once a week - proud weekend warriors)

aiyar.. you cannot compare like that la..

how much is a pair of trunks and goggles to cost you and how much is a pair of nike lunarglides or latest compresssion drifit running shirt going to costs you... even if they wear out in 3 months... they still costs less than what you can easily spend on your bike...

even cycle clothing is already comparable to running and swimming apparels nowadays... like assos bibs that costs RM1k... arguably... shades that do nothing that costs well in excess of RM1k... and all funky stuff you can imagine up...

furthermore... there is nothing as much to gatal or be equipment obsessed about in swimming and running...

jus be contempt that you even have a bike to ride... and pray hard it does not screw up on you... (more so if you own a high end bike)

Waah scott foil! Awesome! Congrats on your purchase bro.

To those starting cycling and wanna get a new bike, Better get a medium range bike for a start..example, when people wanna get a car, better take waja (not ferrari) rather kancil 850cc..the same goes to bike.

My bike is considered medium range..but it now rides like a dream..feels like it is the extension of my body ..hahaha don't puke tongue.gif

Love ur bike, no matter what's the price..and u will enjoy cycling more, worry less about upgrading and that should be the key smile.gif

true bro. it's all about the riding..and the rider.

With cars, you flabby tummy so big you also can tapao other drivers especially waja driver..in cycling world..you get dusted with a better athlete riding an alu bike..or a maybe fixie brows.gif

truth be told, expensive items are better in terms of everything...in reality, we all just have to find what is value for money..unless we are freaking rich sweat.gif

let's get ready for Giro stage 3!!

but, i'd rather head to the pyrenees or the alps anyday.. the view is just that much more stunning especially when you are riding into the clouds...

that is the thing... having to suffer on the way up to enjoy the heavenly bliss awaiting at the top is the very enjoyment of a climb... if you can enjoy the scenery on the way up... all the better...

exactly, boleh comfy2 under the roof of a car, still ride in the sun and rain. Boleh enjoy the cool air with a motorbike, kayuh pelan2 sampai kaki rasa nak explode on the way to Genting Sempah.

But
If I ride, I will help the air be cleaner
If I ride, I can wear spandex and not be ashamed
If I ride, I will be stronger
If I ride, I will go uphill but i will then go downhill
Cilok from this youtube video
It gives me so much inspiration

If I ride by peopleforbikes

What is the optijmum width for the handlebar? Should it be correlated to your shoulder width? my shoulder is measured at 40 cm but currently using a 42cm handlebar. Should I get 40cm instead?
