My line has serious problem, DS Margin is 6-7 while DS line attenuation is 60-63. I had the TM changed my cable once, and the connection was stable for about 2 weeks before return to old case. I forgot to check modem status that period. However, they did change the line and it just work for 2 weeks. Could it be there are still other faulty cables?

I could see this looks rather horrid, but should i call those buggers up again? Coz i had been repeatedly visited and there is no phone line change, Oh the internal wiring thing, i have this piece of wire up in the roof of my 25 year old house that connects to the TM one outside, Should i get TM to redo my entire phone line to the socket or i should get some contractor? Oh. it disconnects at an average 4-5 a night, Don't really know about broad daylight, but it seems worse. This post has been edited by seatux: May 21 2007, 04:50 PM

My streamyx package is 512k. So, i wonder is my phone line problem or my modem problem. Anyone can give me some guideline? Thanks.

The same if i plug it in to the wall directly, or through splitter or directly but through my 15ft of cable. I got the tm uncle to come and he says my extension to my room should be with a 6 gauge phone cable or something. And yes, i would hit Digital Mall for another splitter soon to see if it gets any better. Is there such thing as 6 gauge wire for phone lines? Or somewhere in PJ that i can drive to for such thick cable? This post has been edited by seatux: May 23 2007, 11:08 AM

QUOTE(coldman8888 @ May 22 2007, 10:05 PM) Hi all, newbie here. Is my speed ok? I'm getting frequent dcs but it gets connected as fast as it gets dc. I've lodged a report and aw their reply. Thx. I got a call from tm saying they will reset my port and ask me to check whether dcs will continue to occur or not. Wanna ask: Can dcs be reduced/eliminated by resetting the port? Thx for the reply.

Just now I experienced the worst DSL sync lost problem, I couldn't even connect for over a minute before it gets disconnected again, it was like dced over 60 times an hour.
So I fed up, search the junction at which the line from my house and the telephone pole connect, and found out it was rusty. The techinician who did it was a joke, he didn't properly cover the naked wire from rain and that's the reason my line got worst over time. Now that I redo the connection myself, it was more stable than before but I only managed to increase the downstream margin from 6 to 7 only.......

Okay guys, stop asking 'Please check my line whether this is good or this is bad' or so whatever. Whenever you check your line's status,
If the SNR Margin is low -That means your line is weak, having a bad cable and so on. It has something to do with your cable.
If the Line Attenuation is high -That means your line is weak, having a bad cable and so on. It has something to do with your cable.
So, the best solution is to call 100. Since 1-300-88-9515(Streamyx Interactive Centre) won't help you much. How I know about this? I'd came across this problem too. And initially, all I did was call 1-300-88-9515. I kept calling and calling until one day, a male operator asked me to make an appointment with 100.
And I called TM. They came a few times to my house, identified my problem(cable's fault). And one of the technician fixed it.
Now, I'm having high speed(1024kbps), and stable connection.
Decide yourself, who to state your problem to. =) And stop pilling up your phone bills calling 1-300-88-9515. They s*x.
