Oh my God, just got to know actually there's so many people having this "frequent disconnect" problem like I do. AHahaha! Felt kinda funny reading the posts you guys made.

Well, as you guys can see, my SNR margin is kinda low. It's average is always around 15. And my Line Attenuation is always high high up the sky. And yes, I get this "frequeeeeeent disconnect" thing.

Well, I called up the 1-300-88-9515 streamyx customer service blah blah blah and it always ended up saying " call the telekom olang, it must be your phone line problem" . Then, yeah I followed what they asked, I called up the telekom people, get them checked my phone line. And the telekom fella said "it's something wrong with your port". WTF PORT?! I don't even know that. Well then, he said he will correct the phone port for me and I will not disconnect again. He said that it'll be done in 2-3hrs time. I waited. Then when I tried to online back, it disconnected after few minutes again. -.- THIS IS KINDA PISSING ME OFF!

What should I do next?

LOL. Btw, try looking at my errors.

Umm, I'm staying in Klang, Selangor. I've a friend staying at my area also using the same streamyx package as I do (RM77) but he doesn't dc at all..

And, there's hell lots of errors!

Should I call for streamyx's customer service again and insist of requesting a technician to my house and see what's wrong with my line? Cause I'm intending to do that.

However, this is my line's "6am" 's statue:

Pretty good, huh?
My line is pretty good in the morning, but in the afternoon and at night, I kept on getting disconnected.

So, I want to report, .. I'm confused (Goblin Techies) @.@

I scare they don't understand what is SNR margin.

Well, if they don't understand, I'll just shout at them and ask them to send over a technician. What else can I do? Streamyx's staffs are just plain stupig..

You meant, show the technician, or the tell the streamyx's customer service fella?

LOL, I tested with so many different brands of modems, Aztech, D-Link, ZTD. They all showed out the same results.

Ohyah btw, I subscribed the streamyx for at least 5 yrs already. Does that affect the reliability of the cable too? I meant, the cable/ phone line is old already..

Ok, I'll try to request for technicians.

And, this are the readings after it past 10.00am.

And yeah you're right. SNR Margin - 20DB isn't good at all. I got disconnected for 3 times from 9.00am - 10.00am. It's approximately I got dc-ed every 20 minutes and yeah that's hella annoying!

So, after I called for technicians and get them here and explain everything to them. Roughly what kind of actions will they take? Change my old cable into a new one?

Btw, will the technician charge for anything? Anything?

Oh I see. I'm pretty sure it's from the DP box to my house.

Hurray for they won't charge me anything.

And, I'll save my "duit kopi" rather than giving them some sad.gif !

LOL, that may look normal to you. But it isn't for me.

By the way DT8, what were their responses and what actions they took?

Hmm, good for you. But my problem still exists. Frequent DC is killing me.

No DotA in Bs3 is a sad thing.

And there was a heavy rain yesterday, and today, I kept on getting DC-ed and this is pissing me off.

Take a look at my SNR Margin:

Woops! I called the Streamyx Customer Service and the operator said she'll make a report for me. And the technicians will come to my house to fix the problem in 2-3 working days. Same as DT8.

By the way, DT8, did the technicians take any actions yet?

And I think pixma won't dc with such good specs of modem and line.

Omg the technicians did some port changing for my streamyx account and asked me if I still disconnect ini between these few days, then only I report again..

-.- My SNR Margin has anything to do with the port changing thingy?

Ok I can see your point there. But anyway, I'll wait till tomorrow.

If dc still occurs FREQUENTLY, then I'll definitely call up for Streamyx again.

Thanks for your opinion, scorps.

Ahaha, I no need to pick up my house phone and leave it for 10 mins or even an hour. It will automatically disconnect once every 15-20 mins.

And by the way, you mentioned that Telekom will not change the phone cable for us, yeah? But will TmNet's technicians do it for us?

What is Glite may I ask.

And by the way, the technician came to my house just now and fixed the micro filter or something, he then said everything is fine but he didn't fix the phone cable from the DP Box to my house.

And now I'm getting frequent DC again.

This is getting very annoying...

For the time being, I can only provide you the ATM Protocol, Encapsulation, VPI and VCI values for Streamyx.

Yeah, you've the same problem as I do right now. And it was already 3 weeks since I called the TmNut's Customer Interaction Centre and the technician they sent 4 days ago sucks in such a way that he cannot even figure out that it is my phone cable from the telephone pole to my house that's the one causing my SNR Margin so low and my Line Attenuation that high. Addition that I told him I've got a lot of "errored seconds" and "CRC errors" and all these are caused by the phone cable from the telephone pole. Yet, he convinced me that my line won't get disconnect anymore after he'd just changed a new telephone socket for me.

Few minutes after he left my house, I dc-ed. The next day, my line dc-ed even worse that every 20 minutes I need to turn on and off my modem just to reconnect. So I got fed up and called the TmNut's Customer Interaction Centre again. The operator told me to make an appointment with the technician again.

So, I made it today morning, called them up at 10.30am and the operator told me that the technician will come and fix my line before 12.00pm. I waited till 2.00pm and the technician didn't show up. I called the operator again and he told me the technician had too many appointments today and that he needs to come to my house another day.

Woo-hooo, what a nice service TmNut provides me, and of course, us, the TmNut's streamyx users.

Well, I'm gonna call and "bang" them up again this Thursday, so that they will send a technician to my house and fix my fcuking damn line. I will bug them. Bug them. Don't worry.

This is my current internet connection status. You can enjoy looking at the errors. =)

This is my modem status. I'm using Aztech 600E. I face really frequent disconnection. Can somebody identify the fault? Modem or line?

Ds Rate (Kbps)    :1107
US Margin    :15
DS Margin    :6
Trained Modulation    ADSL2

CRC Rx Fast    2663
CRC Tx Fast    0
CRC Rx Interleaved    0
CRC Tx Interleaved    0

It is your line's problem. Your US and DS Margins are too low. Furthermore, your Line Attenuation is very high. Most likely, you are having the same problem/case as I do now. Just call up 1-300-88-9515 ( Streamyx Interaction Centre) and tell them your problem. Make sure you keep on bugging them until they accept the fact that they need a technician to fix your line. Not doing all those stupid steps like, "make sure your username and pasword are correct, off and on modem, restart computer". All these are just some plain useless guide the operator will give you.

It my line problem or i have been misscapped?

My hypothesis: Most likely is your line's problem. Low US Margin and DS Margin. Furthermore, your Line Attenuation is high. SNR Margin and Line Attenuation should be around the range value of 30-40 if you're having a good, stable line.

Yes, rendude is correct. Well, I am having the same problem as you guys do too. And I've been calling Streamyx's Interaction Centre for more than a month now. Kept on bugging them so that they will send a technician to replace my old phone cable that connects the telephone pole outside my house to my house's phone line. Trust me, they are not that hardworking as you think they are. And one more thing, they love to delay their work. It's been a week now that said they'll send a technician to my house to check my line. Until today, no sign of noone. o.O Impressed by Streamyx's Services? Think twice.

Added on May 3, 2007, 10:45 pmAnd you just don't know how frustrated I am now.

Take a look at this beautiful, high-classed piece of art(shit):

I got disconnected 6 times (Startup Attempts) in 2 hours. It's like once in every 20 minutes. And, ohh, nice errors my line is having.

I'm going mad and Streamyx's technicians are causing me to behave like that.

Look at my download speed. It's 480. It used to be 1024. We've got the same problem too. Well, even this I cannot figure it out, why!

I need help with my net connection...
I'm using a prolink gateway.

Line State     : Showtime
Modulation    : G.DMT
Annex Mode  : ANNEX_A
Downstream / Upstream
SNR Margin         :  6.5 / 14.0  db
Line Attenuation  :  63.5 / 31.5  db
Data Rate           : 1344 / 512  kbps

My download speed slows down after a while. It starts off around 900-1000kbps then after about 20-40 mins, its around 300-500kbps.

Any ideas on what I can do to solve this problem?
Thanks...
*
By the way, do you face frequent disconnections like your line will disconnect after every 20 minutes(average range value)? Because your SNR Margin is low and your Line Attenuation is very high, not much difference with my line. These 2 main problems are caused by the phone cable connected from the telephone pole outside your house into your phone. Call up 1-300-88-9515 and request for a technician. Be patient, because the Streamy'x Interaction Centre's operation is drive you crazy.

Added on May 6, 2007, 12:35 pmOmg, today my line is so stable. But, look at my speed, =) 512 kbps. Mine is actually 1024 kbps. I really don't know what is happening now. @.@?
