QUOTE(warrior @ Apr 16 2012, 10:34 PM) so conclusion does forte come with alarm by default? NO alarm only immobilizer. Why alarm? Annoying and drains battery. Park at as safe place. Minimize risks. If cant then naza can install alarm system to your car with additional charge.

bro remove Fiesta, really small unless u looking at a small car, if so that is the best small car u will ever buy, besides the Swift.
if not, Forte VS Preve,
my POV Preve, = Proton, name, quality, reliability, breakdown,
Preve = great value, ( it should cause it is a proton) specs, almost there, but not really there, except for the Engine and GB ( the best bang ) Very hard plastics. Very hard here and there. a lot of half hearted design. probably reserve for FL. probably 6 months down the line.
Forte = Kia, well known, Peter design it, now kia whack Jap liau ( in the world) resale value. Naza,,,, ? also it is a fine car from point A to B
Forte = Value, for money ( at the moment still ok, but soon it be Preve) great specs, very long list. What u want u get them, nicer to hold and touch compare to Preve.

My friend's forte (parked outside of his house) got broken into in the middle of the night. Broke the glass and grabbed his smart tag, coins, etc. No alarm, nothing. So the robbers can take their sweet sweet time lol. I think alarm systems (incl. the immob) are necessary. They are annoying for a reason =P

One day I found my car full of deep scratches after a rainy thunder day, where I believe the alarm triggered by thunder irritated someone there that caused that happen to my car... . I do believe if the theft really want to break in your car they can do it without trigger the alarm. It may just take them couple of steps before hand.

QUOTE(wurz @ Apr 17 2012, 12:14 AM) Any1 can estimate the price for Naza to add an alarm system in the forte? This quote i got from my kia dealer; "The alarm package is separate, the cost is as follows: Alarm Only - RM580, Shock sensor for windows - RM180 You can choose to fix both or just the alarm. This alarm is built-in with the smart key." Should be the same for all service centre.

That's what the immobiliser is for. If you so worried why don't just install the alarm yourself?

That's what the immobiliser is for. If you so worried why don't just install the alarm yourself? Though it may be true that cars these days have immobilizers installed, but if you know anything about alarm systems you will know for a fact that any reasonably good alarm system will stop your car from being started. The installer can program the alarm system to work in tandem with the original immobilizer so if the thief has managed to disable the immo, he still needs to get through another layer of ignition protection. And FYI, nothing can stop a high tech car thief if he wants your car, the more layers of protection merely slow him down.
