Unresolved Recurring Problem / Issue with my Naza Forte 1.6SX

1. Soft buzzing sound everytime i first step on the accelerator pedal, usually occuring around 1000RPM.

2. Harshness when going over bumps / uneven roads / high speeds above 110km/h. Suspension? Rims? It feels like "swaying".

3. Steering turns to the left by itself. Tyre shops "solved" the pulling to the left problem by pumping more air into the left tyres and less air into the right tyres. 32 vs 29. But the steering wheel still shifts to the left when going over bumps.
*
1. I also have the similar symptom (1.6SX, 4 speeds), asked SC, they said that is normal, but personally I'm not convince. Just typical Malaysian SC, if they insisted that is norm, nothing much you can do. Since that is not the big issue, I just ignored it. Any other having the same problem?

3. Pumping difference air pressure is workaround, not the solution. I have my car fix in Puchong Naza SC, they took me 2 hours and consumed around 6l petrol (I really don't know where they gone to test my car!). The situation get a bit better. Until I have my car service in Serdang Raya SC, the technician informed me the alignment is out quite seriously, they just added a camber bolt (RM25 ) to resolve the problem completely.

Yes, you are right, it's just a workaround, not the solution. I have added the camber bold (RM70), but their secret in resolving is varying the tyre pressure.

I was standing beside and observing the entire process. And same same, they consumed lots of petrol driving around, coming back, changing the tyre pressure, and testing again... they repeated the process perhaps 5-6 rounds.
I do not know what kind of magic they had done, but I do pump the air in petrol station (equally for 4 tyres) few times after they installed the camber bolt, no "left-pulling" issue noticeable. Thus, I do not think they just play around by varying the tyres' pressure.

Note: AZ World (Serdang Raya) wasn't Naza service branch, but Naza authorized service dealer. I do not see my car in the service workshop while the front desk person received the call from technician to ask me if I wish to install the camber bolt. I assume they do not have such facilities in their workshop and they just drive my car to near by tyre shop for fixing. Any way, the end results is much better than the official Naza service branch in Puchong that I mentioned before.

Nope, the one nearby Sunway Tol is only sales center, you need to go further straight to Bukit Jalil direction and you will see the KIA SC on you right hand side after Shell Station.
*
The one near to Sunway toll (behind IOI shopping mall) is 3S center, which include the service.

If last year service pricing is still applicable, 40k km service should be less than RM600. RM8xx is for 60k km service due to replacement of V-ribbed belt. I did my 40k km service at the end of last year, ending up paying only RM48x (2.0SX) coz i didnot change the air filter (using the easy to clean stainless steel Simota air filter) & also topping up just 0.5L of coolant & brake fluid instead of 1L each.

If the dealer charge u RM8xx for the 40k km service, i believe they wanna replace/change the unnecessary items.

Seem the service cost is vary and not standard, I saw 2 set of price posted by MyForte Club member in facebook. I shared here for your perusal.

after that just sign the checklist to show that u're ok with the car when delivered to you. do a thorough check, bring a friend along is best to check the lights, spot any dents, paint chips, scratches, etc.
*
Agreed. Try to collect your car earlier so you have more luxury time to check all the parts. Some defects is more obvious ample light. For my case, I just have bare time to check most of the parts, but leave all the plastic wrapped parts remain unchecked (where I presume no issue as it nicely wrapped.)....end up, found a long scratch on the leather handle after back home and removed all the plastics. sad.gif

Been using RON 95 on my 2.0 FL since Day 1. My car just celebrated her 1st BD. No problems with knocking. Nowadays it is hard to find a car without a knock sensor anyways...

The biggest problem with using a low RON fuel is the loss of power, especially during hot afternoons or if the engine is clogged and not in tip top shape. Knocking can be induced not only due to compression ratio but external factors like underhood temperatures, air density and engine efficiency among others. If you find that your car is sluggish during afternoon runs and appreciably more powerful at night, that means your ECU is holding back the engine in the afternoon to keep temps in check and to prevent knocking. Changing up to a higher RON fuel will lessen the impact.

Here's how the knock sensor works. It is supposed to measure and detect imminent pre=detonation before it happens, and sends the data to the on-board ECU. The ignition timing advance on modern cars with EFI is fully regulated by the ECU and operates on a closed loop system, relying on data from various sensors from the intake all the way to the exhaust.

Ignition advance is dynamically controlled based on throttle input, IOW as you step on the pedal, as the revs climb the ignition is advanced more and more to compensate for the faster cycle between intake and exhaust strokes. The CVVT system works in conjunction with ignition advance to deliver optimum fuel mixture on demand. Unless the knock sensor is damaged, there is no reason why RON 95 cannot be used in a high compression modern engine with fully controlled engine management (knock sensor and CVVT).

Having said that, knock sensors do have a pre-set tolerance, i.e., if you use a fuel that has a very low RON rating like 88 (example), then knocking could still happen as the engine and ECU were not designed to operate below a certain threshold.

But to sum it all up, I believe there is no harm in using RON95 in the Forte.

Cheers

I'm using RON95 and face engine knocking issue once in a blue moon, especially I purposely ease the pedal while climbing up hill. It only happen 3~4 seconds then the sound gone. It seem like engine is smartly adapt itself based on the condition. While my old Wira is knocking all the way up to the hill sweat.gif

Just nw jam at persiaran kewajipan thay time i checked the average fuel consumption on my panel..webt up to 20 l/100km..normal ah?
*
I once caught in extreme bad jam near PJ, I manage to score 99l/100km! rclxub.gif (no joke). Hence, 20l/100km consider norm during such jam circumstances.

My friend's forte (parked outside of his house) got broken into in the middle of the night. Broke the glass and grabbed his smart tag, coins, etc. No alarm, nothing. So the robbers can take their sweet sweet time lol. I think alarm systems (incl. the immob) are necessary. They are annoying for a reason =P
*
My own experience: I used to have a car with sensitive alarm that park near a open housing area and walk an distance to my office. One day I found my car full of deep scratches after a rainy thunder day, where I believe the alarm triggered by thunder irritated someone there that caused that happen to my car... cry.gif .

I do believe if the theft really want to break in your car they can do it without trigger the alarm. It may just take them couple of steps before hand.

erm.
planning to add a camera at the front bumper and connect it to the HU; activated upon request. anyone know whether is this possible?
*
Come across some GPS Navigator with Blackbox DVR recorder devices (similar like the one in the links below). I think Garmin also have such devices available now. So far there are external device, not the HU. I do hope HU will come with such feature later on. So, for the time being, I just use the handphone to do the recording, Android have few quite nice free apps can do such thing.

Yeap ! I had my first 1000km service at Red Cube too and yeap they are damned slow and not able to fix a very small problem for me as well  sad.gif . They took 2 hrs plus for a normal service which is ridiculous to me  shakehead.gif .

However, I would have to admit that they really have a beautiful show room and a very comfortable waiting area for kia owners to rest while waiting for their cars.

My opinion is; if you just want to get a normal service (no technical problems needed to get fixed) and you get plenty of time to spend then no harm to try Red Cube at PJ, you will enjoy the environment there  smile.gif
*
Found RedCube have lame customer service too. I sent in my car to change break lamp cover at 3pm. Job done by 4pm. They just leave the car there without notify me till 5pm.

Just because I on leave that day and nothing to do, so I just enjoy my time in their waiting room (undeniable, they have the best waiting room among the SC I visited b4!). Unfortunately I just caught in the after office jam on the way back....

Ha..ha...for safety purpose, even though if manual transmission, u still need it to be in N to start or your car will go forward. You only engage gear 1 or 2 (this also if necessarily) if the clutch cable snapped or u need to push start.

car still pulling to the left. thinking of sending to 3rd party shop for balancing/alignment. any clue to solving this issue?

I solved my pull-left issue in Serdang Raya Kia Service Center. Heard good reviews about Kinrara SC from this forum too. Worth to give a try. smile.gif
