I believe that you could test the camera in sony centre, midvalley the Garden or The Curve will be the best place for your testing

if you join the Alphanatics forum, u can see a lot of Pro also use NEX too especially for personal shooting!!!

Like others have said, when you get down to Macro level stick with MF. You'll want full control over your DoF.
