Due to the fact of no AF, I'm seriously looking for an old Minolta MD 50mm F3.5 lens since I having the Minolta-NEX adapter liao..Dunno good buy or not since not many review on the ancient macro lens..

Right now still waiting for my Sigma 70-210mm...BTW, your raynox? no deal?

I regularly use my 35mm 1.8 and about 90% of the time i get sharp pics thanks to the Focus Peaking. At 50mm, i think your issue won't be AF since focus peaking is good, but the lack of Image Stabilization would be the problem for you especially since it is just F3.5.

You can buy a 3rd party NEX-A-Mount. Use MF full time because you have peaking mode. Anything is easy!

I'm using the LA-EA2 and a Sony mount SP90, so yes, there is AF of course.

Like others have said, when you get down to Macro level stick with MF. You'll want full control over your DoF.

Thought I sent you a message regarding the Raynox? Had a buyer reserve it. Sold already.

I'd rather not have the degradation that comes with stacking so much glass on the lens. It's minor, but it's there, and on macro level, minor is a lot. Pixel peeping fever I suppose?

u may ask them what's bad about 5N.
No suitable for beginner? Bad Image Quality? Too big and too heavy? No fast shutter speed? Limited features??
Or Just because of LOWER SALES MARGIN????

here a lot of happy customer.
and even with NEX-5, noob like me have influence some canikon guy to get NEX!!!

FYN, some online review are comparing 5N's image quality to pro camera like 5DMkII! thumbup.gif

Enough said i think...

Added on March 8, 2012, 5:40 pmadditionally i think times square shops mostly pro nikon (personal opinion don't shoot me)... was just there yesterday and amazed that none have a nex 7 in stock...
anyway, you can already see in this forum... just look for 1 nikon 1 series thread... i don't see any... point me to it when you see one... at least for nex, you've got a legion of brothers to help you when you need assistance on settings and anomalies if you ever encounter any... yes, 1 series may have advantage in certain aspects but overall, nex wins hands down...
