Guys, need your opinion... For macro photography, will LED lighting (continuous) be suitable? Or am I better off with a flash? hmm.gif

Thinking of getting:
LED light (can also use as torchlight during power outage laugh.gif )
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/syd-0808-64-l...rder-4-aa-37409
Or maybe macro ring light...
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/yongnuo-wj-60...-3-x-aaa-109212

But definitely getting this IR remote because it's too darn cheap tongue.gif

Do DX ship to Malaysia and SG? Last time I tried, it was rejected.

BTW, I have bought several of those batteries for NEX from DX. Works fine for the the price... get a couple.. and not have to b**** over how many extra pix the original can take. Latest they have the battery charger for a song and dance.

DX's prices are quite reasonable, my only concern is their terrible packaging. I once bought an item but it came full of sticky cellotape... Like in layers and layers and layers, dunno what the staff was thinking rclxub.gif

Sometimes it can be a pain the way DX ship the stuff but so far I have no missing stuff - (to NZ). I know some of the shipment do take quite some time but they arrive good eventually.

Same here, nothing missing thus far. Shipping to Malaysia takes approximately 2 weeks, 3 at most. Wanna get a few cheap accesorries for my 5N like those I mentioned earlier biggrin.gif Still hoping for a recommendation though... LED or flash? unsure.gif

better buy here lar, local. If anything goes wrong, we don't need to worry. Buy valuable items from oversea too risk. either kena kencing or received damage (in transit) items. Camera and lens are very sensitive items, when item inside thebox, courier people don't know what inside, so they always throw it.

Original case by Sony looks good to me. How I wish I can find the same one for NEX-7. Selection so damn sparse for NEX-7 accessories. Just now looking for hand grip strap for the NEX-7. The ones for Alphas all sold out, the slimmer one so loose. I hate the neck strap for the NEX-7, it's slim so it'll dig into your shoulders. The larger ones for Alphas semua sold out.

Only got time to look at KLCC SonyStyle. Gotta go home and pack for Osaka flight tonight. Might as well I buy these accessories there at Yodobashi Camera downtown Osaka. I'd prefer proper accessories than the third party ones that doesnt suit/fit well.

I only use a wrist strap ... home made. Find commercial ones too big. Like to keep it simple. NEX can be a very stealth camera. Like to keep it that way.. a simple strap enough to loop over my wrist and to prevent an accidental drop is all I need.

haha..most probably ancient worm. That's the prominent tiny creatures around my house for my macro adventure.

BTW, for those haven't buy from DX, they are reliable and if item not working, you can actually send back to them via cheapest post and they will refund you the amt by asking you to buy something & minus the postage you send back..They will replace the goods or you decided to nuy another better item minus the postage you send back.. rclxms.gif

Straps like this are easy to find. Cant get from Gordy, or even use straps from Nintendo Wii or PSP. I'm looking for Hand grip straps that attaches to the strap loop on the NEX-7 and the bottom of the NEX body via tripod mount, so that it can dangle safely if need while I move around. I'm using it naked now, without the neck strap and all. I agree on its stealthiness, and I like keeping it simple too, but I'd like to see if there are options like these available before I commit myself to just using the NEX-7 with a wrist strap.

May be overkill, but I'm keeping my options open before I commit.

I want to share with NEX friends, especially NEX7 owner. Our NEX is a compact camera, and we must have compact bag also, and very difficult to find nice and compact camera bag in the market right now. This is what i using now, only RM80 and very useful. I can put my NEX7 attached with SEL18200, 16mm pancake, HVL 20AM flash and also got small compartment for small thing like memory card and battery spare.

Hmm... How much is NEX-5 worth in the market nowadays? Thinking of buying a brand new NEX-5H package for RM2800, but keep SEL18200 for myself, then sell off the fresh body + used SEL1855 from my 5N. Feasible? tongue.gif Maybe RM800 for the body and RM500 for the lens?
