question: what is the point of the viewfinder on the NEX (the old optical one, not the new EVF type) when you can't turn off the live view on the screen anyway?

Went to East Coast Park, SG for a short shooting session. Wasted lots of opportunity due to wrong focus using MF and peaking. Shown in focus and look sharp on LCD screen but when viewed on pc, it's OOF

if you use bigger aperture, with shallower depth of field, better use MF assist enlarge view 7x or 14x!
subject in motion a bit difficult to MF, make sure you have enough shutter speed and DOF. |

QUOTE(RX-78-2 @ Apr 8 2012, 01:41 PM) if you use bigger aperture, with shallower depth of field, better use MF assist enlarge view 7x or 14x! My concern is there, but i still wish to try out MF for zoom lens as I can snap it sharper subject in motion a bit difficult to MF, make sure you have enough shutter speed and DOF. Anyway, which adapter for it? I saw it can attach with nikon, canon and sony as well...any adapter to recommend? |

Oh no.. this thread is starting to look like a showcase instead.
Wonder if I could get an opinion. Would it be better for everyone to just show a max of 2 best pictures here and provide a link for the rest ? A flickr link or to the NEX showcase thread perhaps? Thanks. I can identify with the joy of sharing all our creative works, and we're in the era of broadband internet and browser caches, but still...
