u use optic fibre right?
*
yea

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ Feb 24 2012, 03:32 PM)
This probably due to they dd not check the fiber line with measuring equipment during installation. The signal may be bad. My installation went perfectly and I signed the paper already before I remember that they have not test the phone. Fortunately the phone is not working and I checked that the internet and IPTV were down as well. The tech mesured the fiber signal with a meter and it showed "Lo". They have to re-make the incoming fiber connector and mesured a good signal and the phone and everything else are working ever since.

they didnt measure anything though

sigh

now the contractor said i broke the fibre optic

wtf

after he install i just surf internet and after 40 minutes the connection gone already
zzzz

So... She said 'will' give you report reference number. So... Did she give you? Whenever you lodge a complain, you must insist(normally they will provide) to obtain the report number if they ain't giving you one.

At least when you call back, you can just provide the report number, save the hassle to repeat what you told to the earlier operator.

wat the crap
40 minutes after installing

the OPTICAL shows red light... and i cant connect to unifi anymore

now using back streamyx

hmmm
is it cos they detected i havent terminate stimix... therefore block my unifi access?

or is it just unlucky for me

ive called the unifi 1800... they said will send a technician to my house ... but dono when
sigh

1st day already like this

Don't worry lah. It work out in the end. Did you get the installers handphone before they left?

Anyway something similar happened during the install for my friends house. All was working at 11am when the installers left but about 2 hrs later, the BTU no light at all other than power. So I called the installers. They came back at 5pm and fixed the problem. They changed some of the connectors.

Problem is the next morning same thing happened. Called them again and they came after lunch. They spent some time and eventually found that it was a bad length of optical cable. I think took them almost 6 hrs in total. Went for TT nearby after that with them.

Touch wood but till now all Ok.

Long time no here, been busy, hope I didn't miss out any interesting here laugh.gif

Not sure whether others have mentioned the following before, just want to update with regards to UniFi routers.

ASUS RT-N15U (new!)
- another Broadcom gigabit to support 3 digits vlans from ASUS notworthy.gif !
- just started testing, so far both internet & IPTV working ok, will stress test over the weekend again flex.gif ...
Attached Image
Attached Image

ASUS RT-N16
- use either FW 3.0.0.3.84 (from official site) or .74 (from my site)
- the latest .94 & .96 have some issues including IPTV, already reported, waiting for fixes, hopefully next release.

TP-Link TL-WR841ND Ver7x
- use wr841nv7_en_3_12_7_up(110726)
- the latest FW does not support UniFi

TP-Link TL-WR1043ND ver1x
- use wr1043nv1_en_3_13_4_up(110906)
- the latest FW does not support UniFi

TP-Link seem to be rather quiet now, already request UniFi support on their latest DualBand TL-WR2543ND (1 band at 1 time) and the up-coming TL-WR2843ND (simultaneous bands), not sure whether they will do it, their engineers seem to be forever busy sweat.gif .....

At this moment, ASUS seem to be more aggressive & supportive smile.gif , they are trying their best to make UniFi-support for all new routers. Really can't wait for the RT-N66 Knight drool.gif ...

I've been experiencing frequent disconnections and line drop...

Distorted pictures and freezes on the television...

lodged a report for three times yet the problem is yet to be fixed.

just filed another complaint via SKMM hopefully they'll be more agressive on this matter..

something smells fishy... I suspect this DIR-615 is the problem here.

My Draft N laptop wireless card ain't stable if I use it at N. So normally I force it down to G speed connecting to N 300 Router. Only when I need streaming from one pc to another device I enable N. G speed, never a problem. Unifi ain't that fast laugh.gif
