Me too. But mainly its due to the poor audio quality output of my phone. tongue.gif

Yup, MNP, like how I converted my 017 to U mobile service. Never regretted it so far, except during outstation, you can't surf the net cause it drops to 2G (GPRS/EDGE), but messaging still works fine. smile.gif

I'm thinking of switching to U mobile for their 3G too, worth it?

The TI OMAP4460 is designed to run at 1.5Ghz by default, but for some reason (power saving I assume) it is underclocked on the GNex. The overclocking potential on TI processors are high, don't be surprised if someone managed to overclocked it up to 2Ghz+ in the future
*
I'm rather conservative when using my gadgets, so I don't overclock them.

The phone was generating heat while I was using it, surfing, downloading stuff while it's connected to 3G/HSDPA network.

I thought it would not generate much heat at all. So, hot pocket ahead, still. sweat.gif

You are probably the first person that I ever heard saying "love Maxis". lol.

Maxis gives you unlimited data for overseas roaming? Don't think any of our carrier does, or you are on those really premium plans? ohmy.gif

My mistake as I thought S2's audio hole was at bottom. Must be too much GNex photos. blush.gif

For my experience from Maxis to U Mobile... the only bill shock I get was, the bill was well within limit, or cheap in comparison. rclxm9.gif

Back then when I was signed with Maxis plan, I constantly have problems sharing photos to FB using the FB app. Halfway might get timed out or just hanged. But with U mobile's network, never face this problem so far. Maybe because the network still not many people yet, so I better enjoy it while I can. biggrin.gif

Actually, I agree and I think that is also part of the reasons why the processor is underclocked to run at 1.2.

But I'm just saying the potential that this processor has is pretty high. icon_idea.gif

Another happy customer feedback on U Mobile (another one being one of my close friend)

what about call and sms services?

I think I'll try out U mobile once GNex is in my hands happy.gif
I mean their price is really attractive.

Call and SMS services so far so good, if you have used Celcom before. I'm not 100% sure, if 3G voice call rides on U Mobile only, or data on U, while voice on Celcom. Though when it drops to 2G (domestic roaming, which this option is not available on Samsung phones and GNex, though some CM7 ROM might have it), you will be riding on Celcom's network for voice calls.

The voice quality and coverage were really good. Even back then when on Maxis, I would have to drop to 2G to try to get better voice call quality, at times. Now I don't remember ever doing that, so I guess it's good. Don't even bring Digi into the picture (no offense to Digi supporter/lovers), the coverage/signal quality for voice is really really bad. What's up with Digi anyway?

Why not try a prepaid U mobile for testing? smile.gif

May i suggest you put Google name it our thread topic. Should be Google Galaxy Nexus instead of just Galaxy Nexus. We should be proud with Google names as it's Google phone and not Samsung (though Samsung is the manufacturer)
So it would be GGN or GNex instead or SGN. SGN should go for Galaxy Note :-)

I have managed to get connected to 3G/H in Penang island, near coastal area. Never had the chance to go deep into town area in the heart of the island though. Will report back if I go there again. I think U mobile has expanded their coverage to Penang state as well?

U mobile will be using Maxis' 3G network to covers "dark areas" of U mobile. In this sense, U mobile might have the best coverage (data) in the end, with the support from both Celcom and Maxis networks combined together.

Seriously, I've been contemplating to do that.. (I have done my research tongue.gif) but the problem is no one in the web refers it as Google Galaxy Nexus hmm.gif
At most, it is just Galaxy Nexus, or most widely called Samsung GN =/
I agree (obviously) to least associate this phone with Samsung's name, hence the title.

In the end I've decided to keep it as Galaxy Nexus to avoid confusion for people who are interested in this phone,
and to keep the name short and simple. sweat.gif

btw, PhoneArena review is up

Just realised I don't have Flash installed in my phone. No wonder it never prompted me to update Flash. blush.gif

Will try to make it work then, loading using office line was really slow. Wonder if it was blocked by firewall.

Galaxy Nexus SAV Ghost fix by Modaco

http://www.androidcentral.com/galaxy-nexus...-unofficial-fix

QUOTE
Paul O'Brien from MoDaCo already has an unofficial (or at least semi-official) fix ready to download today. The MoDaCo volume bug fix takes the form of a new boot image file (apparently sourced from a test version of the official fix) which you can flash across, assuming you've unlocked your bootloader. If you don't know what any of that means, you're probably better off waiting for the official update to arrive over-the-air -- it shouldn't be too much longer now.

There's only GPRS or HSPDA /HSPDA+

No EDGE network. I get around 6.2Mbps down on HSPDA. brows.gif

You had to enable roaming in order to stay connected in U mobile's dark area. Otherwise you are offline.

Lately U mobile have been coughing up, keep roaming instead of going into 3G signal, though there's H everywhere I go, so have to force it into WCDMA. Gotta find way to set the phone to "prefer WCDMA"

just tested ice cream sandwich and i can say it is perfect.

- the animation is smooth and steady like windows phone
- the looks, the sharpness and the color overall have improved a lot. they are just noticeably prettier than previous android
- it's easy to navigate, unlike previous android. while we are okay with the current android, just try give the phone to your mom and dad (if they havent use android before), and definitely they won't find it easy to use. but this all has changed now. now menus are clear and user will know if there is any submenu or sub sub menu.

i can say android 4.0.1 takes some of the good things in ios and windows phone 7.5 and enhance it to make a better android.

well regarding RRP and when this device will be available in our market,
i cant say the exact info, but i can say it's cheaper than the other samsung phone that just released and it's coming date is just around the corner. however it will be exclusive under telco sad.gif

Comparing against GNote? That's a bit steep to ease my heart.

Can say it's cheaper than S2's RRP? rclxm9.gif
