Can say it's cheaper than S2's RRP?  rclxm9.gif

I hope it's the green telco!

And even if it's exclusive under telco, I hope we can buy it without contract smile.gif

just tested ice cream sandwich and i can say it is perfect.

- the animation is smooth and steady like windows phone
- the looks, the sharpness and the color overall have improved a lot. they are just noticeably prettier than previous android
- it's easy to navigate, unlike previous android. while we are okay with the current android, just try give the phone to your mom and dad (if they havent use android before), and definitely they won't find it easy to use. but this all has changed now. now menus are clear and user will know if there is any submenu or sub sub menu.

i can say android 4.0.1 takes some of the good things in ios and windows phone 7.5 and enhance it to make a better android.

well regarding RRP and when this device will be available in our market,
i cant say the exact info, but i can say it's cheaper than the other samsung phone that just released and it's coming date is just around the corner. however it will be exclusive under telco sad.gif

hopefully other telco take it too. the best is purchase direct from SEP.

s2's rrp is rm1899 now rite? unfortunately nope. it is lower than S2 bigger brother which for me is still a good price!

but after testing it, honestly i can say android 4.0.1 makes android 99% better than what we have now. i can't say how far google has optimize the ics on galaxy nexus but i think if sgs2 gets the same ics (with the same optimization), maybe it will be better than galaxy nexus. maybe...
for other manufacturer i doubt they will be able to reach the same optimization as google does on galaxy nexus..

NexS with 2 years plan selling for RM199 now. Perhaps it's a sign that Maxis is bringing in GNex? blink.gif

I fear the worst.

Besides that, SME doesn't carry NexS, meaning it's not branded under Samsung.

What it says most probably below RM2299 which is still a very good price rather than the AP set which is selling for RM2750

Maybe optimise for GT-I9100G (OMAP4430) version, and not GT-I9100 (Exynos)?

Er, guys I know u guys were discussing about Umobile. You were all talking about the RM 28 Prepaid. That one has a 500 MB FUP(cap) right? After that you can still surf, but will be slowed down. I wonder what is the speeds like once u exceed 500 MB?

Another thing is Umobile offers RM 28 postpaid plan. To see more, just click the link.
http://www.u.com.my/postpaid-packages/new-postpaid-plans

Postpaid vs prepaid that I see:
1 GB FUP (cap) vs 500 MB
100 free SMS to Umobile and 200 free SMS to outside Umboile vs 30 free SMS
0 free minutes vs 100 free minutes
Higher sms/call rates vs cheaper call/sms rates (on average)

I text more than I call, so should be no issue. At the same time, I don't text like mad, so I should be under the 200 free SMS...... And we now got Whatsapp/Viber so yea....
Just wondering, anyone here knows how long is the contract for the postpaid line? I never had a postpaid line, so I wonder how is it like once I make the switch? And what is the process of switching providers like? Is it simple or complicated?

if you are not bound to get phone from umobile , you are not under contract ( should be the same for umobile )

like mine , i didnt have any contract with digi even thou i using smart plan 48 . i can change anytime i want .

the prepaid has better rate on call /sms ( 500mb )
postpaid have bigger quota . ( 1gb ) , and more costly rate for sms and call

up to you to decide.

o.O having a data plan that is affordable is off topic? Then what is the point of smartphone lol? But I do agree with you a couple of pages ago. Over 1 word that starts with "f"... Its not the swear word, its just a neutral word, yet it had a heated discussion there.
EDIT: Right I forgot to reply to you, read this first (Read the "Availability?" spoiler

I heard the cap will be 64kbps (not kByte, but kbit). Basically, nothing you can do with it, other than just messaging.

There is NO contract for U mobile's postpaid. You can terminate any time you want, bill will be calculated based on pro-rated figure.

Process is, make sure your current line is not tied to any contract, then just go over to the new carrier's counter and tell them you wanna do an MNP. That's all.

Do call the bank to update them on your MNP as some banks don't send SMS to non original carrier's phone prefix, if you get what I mean. smile.gif
