From it seems to be protest then becomes rally then now becomes DISCUSSIONS or what they called forum?
We are discussing with whom I wonder? Is our PM going to come to have dialog with all members? Or we are discussing with each other? Discuss what?? To discuss to stop RFID??? Then what?? To again organise another rally or protest to voice our dilemma? Why have to do two times??? Do we have enough crowd by then if frustrated farmers tht come on 21 found tht it. Is nothing but just another discussion among us? Will it help in solving the problem?? |

QUOTE(ChanK @ Jul 13 2012, 08:20 PM) From it seems to be protest then becomes rally then now becomes DISCUSSIONS or what they called forum? If the organiser isn't doing right @ the venue; what to prevent us from protesting and demonstrate our unhappiness or frustration at the venue............so, bring along banners and what have you and we will show the Gmen that we are very very unhappy and wanted action to correct the wrongs and not only RFID. Reporters will be there and hopefully, and if wave of Malaysian in the industry aren't happy and infact very angry over their handling of the matter and worst the delay of a year even Tsunami victim and trace should all clear within a year; why our's still not yet?????????????????????We are discussing with whom I wonder? Is our PM going to come to have dialog with all members? Or we are discussing with each other? Discuss what?? To discuss to stop RFID??? Then what?? To again organise another rally or protest to voice our dilemma? Why have to do two times??? Do we have enough crowd by then if frustrated farmers tht come on 21 found tht it. Is nothing but just another discussion among us? Will it help in solving the problem?? We are to show the PM and his Gmen that we will not die sitting down and we will fight for our right, the right to fairness and not going allow N.O and friends to monopolize the industry......... PM will act if he has the raayat at heart and we wanted him to know and not allow some big shots to provide him with the wrong infos. I must emphasis that all must be done peacefully and without any force and what we want is the PM to listen to us, the raayat who are suffering and really need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Pekan, Pahang (PM's home town) is coming with bus load of supporters and what's about you or your Association???????? If there is a next time, it shall be different and my recommendation............next time if needed, it shall be "Burning of birdnests" to show what our birdnest is worth nothing and it's better to burn the nests than to sell. I will contribute to the burning of nests rather than selling so low!!!!!!!!!!!!! It shall be my little contribution to the fellow members who suffer enough AND we invite the minister involved to torch the nests cos is HE that cause all. |

Received SMS fr friends tht vet is instructed to stop issue any permit to export bn to HK last week pending the implementation of RFID. Anyone here aware abt this?
The prices of bn already drop so low without any buyers coming n now cut the only lifeline tht we might have...what they want fr us?? Malaysia is so much different from other country,I think chit chai can share some with us here about their govt in Thailand. Mini loans are given to farmers to start new farming business and existing farmers to grow their business 10 years ago now n see what happen? A lot of them prosperous n local economy supported by farmers as they employ the locals and buy equipments n etc. What do we get from our govt? A robe? Angry bird is good idea, we should wear black T instead of light blue. |

Its prodigal to burn bird nests and frankly, I don't think people other than farmers will be sympathetic as the general public will not feel the pain.
Perhaps we can each bring a sack of guano at the next demo/rally to show what we think of the responsible authorities for their lack of spirit to quickly bring swiftlet farmers miseries to a quick conclusion and allow genuine market forces to determine the prices of our nests. |

Every year, open burnings there cause panic and birds to migrate to safer places and we gain alot from Indo during the initial years although we do have swiftlets but not alot during the older days as we never given these birds a chance to breed. But now, the open burning seem to worsen and we are now being affected and birds will fly away more to Northern regions to be away from the Haze. Also, during the unrest in Indo, many BHs were burned down esp. those of the Chinese and the birds flown to our area and we provide the birds with safe sanctuaries and we experienced huge increase in Birds during the good old days. Before that, we Malaysian even have EBN in our houses, we chased the birds away like my grand parent did as no one knew anything about the EBN and how the nest look like. We were told that EBN are from the Sea swiftlet ( Hai Yen), and they live by the Sea. It was the Haze that bought the birds to us and it's the bigger Haze that will cause young birds to move to our Northern Neighbors. |

That's good idea about shits, maybe can put in a small plastic ziplock bag, mix shits with some water n throw to the hazer n haze helpers. Tht will be great publicity n great stories for the press. Its used to be that people would swear at nonsense by saying that its bullshit... now perhaps we can change the swear word to bird-shit...
Now that the comic books heroes such as Spiderman, batman are coming on to the big screens... maybe its time for a Birdman to arises and come to the aid of our much oppressed farmers against the fiendish big time operators out to corner the market as well as their allies, the officials.... I think demo for the time being is the best method as the squeaky wheel gets the grease... see how Najib finally responsed to the Lynas matter only after the massive demo in Kuantan not long ago. |

We reap what we sow. We deserve the government we choose. If we want change, then we must change first.
Einstein said that only fools expect different results by doing the same things. If we want a government that is sensitive to our needs, then we must elect the right people to represent us. Kick the rent-seekers and the Ali Babas out. If we miss this window of opportunity to do the right thing, we could be doomed for many generations to come. |

Our agri mb said he don't understand why farmers organising the forum this weekend as he already said no RFID in farms but only RFID in processing plants.
Actually why we have forum this week then? Our aim is no RFID at all or no RFID in farms? The organiser said only 2000 register so far to attend this weekend forum. While another bn processor tht said he managed to change his company products range n concentrate in bn bottles range n it is selling well in china.he also said The situation now is those tht represented farmers to have dialog with the govt officers had agreed with the govt suggestion on things liked RFID, n u can see tht even association heads now own proceeding plants tht is RFID friendly anticipating govt new ruling tht only allow bn export by those plants, but now when farmers realised what actually happening, they start to oppose it...tht cause all the chaos. He is right, why's that? Did the association representative ask farmers opinions or ever fight for farmers benefits or ever oppose it when they reckon the effects of it at all while have discussion with the govt? As they represented all farmers when dealing with the govt. why is tht? This post has been edited by ChanK: Jul 16 2012, 10:52 AM |

The heads that you elected are looking after their own pockets first. They likely 'anticipated' or engineered the situation but has now gone out of control.Actually why we have forum this week then? Did the association representative ask farmers opinions or ever fight for farmers benefits or ever oppose it when they reckon the effects of it at all while have discussion with the govt? As they represented all farmers when dealing with the govt. why is tht? The reason they are now making noise is the falling price of EBN which is affecting them big time as they are the big timers who stocked up as the prices dropped, hoping to monopolize big time. Some caused the price drop to be able to stock up in a big way and wait for prices to rise again after awhile. Never anticipated the 'awhile' became over a year. Now if prices rise again, these big timers may stand to recover loses or even profit big time. For us small timers, where do we go, left also wrong, right also wrong where to turn to? No monopoly. No 30ppm nitrite, use WHO standards. No restrictions on export except on govt. levies, and we will be on the way to recovery. With No restrictions, no monopolies, the big timers will have to sell at market prices, us small timers sell our stock to the world at current prices and eventually the big timers will also have to sell at the lower prices...............until the current stock is depleted and then the farmers will increase prices according to supply and demand not some big timer stocking and controlling the market. Just my 2 sen worth on world EBN economy. |

Agri mb said no RFID in farms? That's the bullshit of the year.
To the best of my knowledge, they just selected a couple of BHs in my area and gave out forms for RFID installation. We have to beat all monopolistic policies aimed at profiteering by a few cronies and many BHs owners made to suffer fools. They even said that if installed now, the price is something like RM50. Later it will be a couple of hundreds. I will try my best to attend this gathering, i.e. if I am physically in town. Otherwise, wish you all success. My thoughts are with you all. EBN prices can go up or down depending on market forces like supply and demand and there is nothing much we can do about it. What we are against is market manipulation by a selected few in cohort with government officials. This post has been edited by coolandy: Jul 16 2012, 01:04 PM |

Yes coolandy,u are right. Just heard they pass the law to insist on RFID fr farm till plants with support fr mac.
So, what are we going to discuss on 21st?? Added on July 16, 2012, 1:48 pmWell if talk abt supply n demand, if not because of us govt election year as they are busy printing money to support their economy, n also euro also busy printing money to prevent collapse of their economy, we would have seen the second biggest economy crisis in history. With the election ends this yer, u will see next year they have gun but no bullet to shoot. N further it is also changing hands in CN this year and CN too facing tension to prevent bubble to explode there, they have slow down their economy purposely....but with their export growth rate lower then their import growth rate...they will do their best to prevent money flowing out and to encourage more export... We are trying to sell to them..so what do u think? Do they care about u been able to export ur products to them or not? We are facing something we never seen before.........bn industry will collapse with the help of RFID, that's guaranteed. Added on July 16, 2012, 2:00 pm We never learn from mistake n we never will...read this n see how similarity this with what is happening in bird nest industry....we are waiting for disaster to happen? Just dnt do the same mistake again like FROM A BILLION RINGGIT TIN MINING INDUSTRY TO NGA-CHOY-KAI INDUSTRY This post has been edited by ChanK: Jul 16 2012, 02:12 PM |
