Haha! suprisingly why no one talk about investing BH in thailand. Thailand full of island bird nest at east and west coast. Generally, harvest 3 times a year and its fully tenanted. Therefore, condition here is bird searching for home. Thailand law basically is, your land, your building, do whatever u want of course not illegal business. therefore, residential properties also can convert become offices and shops.

If anyone interested, i have few BHs and a few buildings (haven't convert yet) to let go too. Fly here to harvest and holiday too. what a nice planning.

Guangzhou "yat tak rd", mostly selling super white nest. guarantee bleached. becareful, their price may look cheap but actually very high moisture i.e. min. 20% moisture. every kg you buy, after dry is 800g.

like i always explain to my friends, EBN should always not enough to feed the market.
BECAUSE, assuming world supply 1000ton/yr after processed. 1000ton = 1,000,000kg. 1,000,000kg x ave. 150pcs/kg = 150,000,000pcs.
If, regular consumer, 1pcs/week (this is very min.) = 52pcs/yr.
SO, WE NEED ONLY = 2.88MILLION REGULAR consumer.

Assuming the 1000ton/yr is wrong, should be 50% more (which i very doubt), we only need about 4.32million REGULARVconsumer. i have not consider irregular consumer yet into my calculation.

The figure speak for itself.

Nowadays Thailand living cost also high, min. 300baht/day. However, the production higher, perhaps. Therefore, the cost will still slightly lower. Furthermore, not much restriction or cost incurred in getting foreign workers (from Burma, Laos and Cambodian). I heard foreign worker in malaysia, the cost for each to arrive at your doorstep ONLY is as high as Rm3000 excl. food, lodging, medical, insurance and etc AND the contract is only 2years.

You are right, if without foreign workers, M'sia economy collapse overnight.

Dear All Bros! correct me if i'm misunderstand. i tot that register the BH to government is good news in the sense that your nest can sell legally to the LICENSE PROCESSOR AND EXPORTER (the 8 companies) with slightly higher price. The license companies only can buy from those "legalor register" BH as part of the requirement of tracibility. Therefore, the price should be higher due to the owner got to force to declare their income transparently.

The only set back is 3 years later (or more perhaps), they can track your BH and close them down. Even those without registration, the government can still track & close them (if the idea is enforced).

sorry, i might have misunderstood here, if any, pls kindly correct me.

Totally agreed with you (WW). actually the so called after process/clean is still a RAW bird nest. It is only the "person in charge for approval" not understand only or perhaps did it purposely, so that limit it to a few companies.

what happen to the 40 bird nest's businessmen visiting malaysia? any good outcome yet or just for sight seeing only since can not go to thailand now.

Malaysian or any foreigner, can not buy landed property in Thailand. The only way to own it, is thru' company. U got to register a company (sdn bhd), then buy the land.

Too many foreigner using the same way for owning land here.

I heard some companies (among the 8 cmpanies) had successfully exported the nest to china and now waiting for LAB TEST and custom clearance.

May be rejected due to;
a. nitrite contain
b. unreasonable excuses due to 370

Previously, i had mentioned that some companies (out of the 8) had sent nest (small qty) legally to china recently, latest news i heard is that the china's custom and lab test had been cleared. so finally is all done. however, no official announcement yet. The second batch should be much bigger qty and very soon.
